Do People Over 50 Smoke Marijuana

Why do people care whether other people smoke marijuana?

If you ask me, only the Cheetos people have a valid stake in this, since without pot they'd go out of business.

Did greasers smoke marijuana?

I know greasers often drank and smoked cigarettes, but did they use marijuana? I know other groups from the same time period (like beatniks) regularly smoked it.

Why do people make such a big deal out of marijuana?

First, I would advise anyone reading to not take Jaycen's post or any post citing a "drug free" website seriously. All of what you copied and pasted is propaganda.

Secondly, marijuana does NOT increase the likelihood of developing psychosis. It has been found that ONLY people predisposed to psychosis are likely to develop it if they smoke.

The reason why people tend to freak out and call marijuana bad without understanding is that it's been prohibited for 73 years. In that time, there has been plenty of ad campaigns, educational programs, etc to mislead the public into believing that it's a bad thing. So from the time you're a little kid, you go to D.A.R.E. classes in school, you watch Above The Influence ads on tv and you see them associating it with negativity on the news/newspapers.

Parents tend to look at that crap and think it's all true without doing an ounce of research themselves. But the tide is beginning to turn a bit in this country with the public because people are beginning to see that what they've learned is lies and that the Drug War and the mentality against marijuana is bullsh*t.

If you wanna learn more about marijuana and ALL the reasons it's illegal and how things got to be the way they are, I suggest you watch this documentary called The Union: The Business Behind Getting High. It's the best documentary I've ever seen on the subject and it's recent.

I havent smoked marijuana for 50days and im 5'11' and about 290 and im 20?

If you haven't smoked for 50 days, you will be fine for the standard testing and here is why.

marijuana has a half-life in your system. How long it takes to leave your system depends on how much you smoke. But the time maxes out at around 45 days. One smoking session for someone with a clean system takes about 3-4 days to be clean. Smoke 2 days later and then have to wait about a week, and so on. The time it will take roughly doubles every time you smoke until it maxes at about 45 days to be clean. So if you are maxed out and you wait about 2 weeks and then smoke again, you're basically back to 45 days.
Marijuana can be detected in urine for nearly a week after smoking. Blood tests can be more accurate, and it might take a month to be totally clear. Hair tests show every drug ever taken when that hair was growing - this is why you see so many drug addicts with shaved heads or buzz cuts, by the way. Also by the way: taking laxatives and drinking wacky chemicals won't "cheat" a drug test. It will just make you go to the bathroom! These drug tests are designed by experts who anticipate what the drug user might do.

Be very careful of "remedies" for getting around drug tests. They flat out do not work and could do damage to your body.

Can you get high off of second hand marijuana (weed) smoke?

Yes you can.It will not be nearly as high as actually smoking but definitely if there is smoke that is being smoked and you are near, even a little bit can give you some mild effect.I was eating at a restaurant in Bakersfield, CA when someone outside started smoking and definitely noticed a high of sorts creep in. Very little. But basically when someone exhales smoke there is still THC in that smoke, so that could get you buzzed. If someone just lets the smoke evaporate and spread, plenty of weed smoke in there to inhale. The fact is if you live with anyone smoking in their room while they are there and you are there, you are probably getting a little bit high. The “no” answers are incorrect, as I’ve gotten secondhand high numerous times. Like I said, it’s a small amount, but it’s not at 0%.In fact, I’ve been in public places and people nearby smoked. Yes, I got a little bit. Now, I’ve smoked hundreds of times, and I know what being high feels like very very well. I know every corner of it and how it works. So, no I can’t say 5 seconds of secondhand inhalation will get you really high, but from my experience, there will be THC entering you, and thus having a slight effect. I’d say for 5 seconds of secondhand smoke, you may get 1/300th high of smoking a full joint…so not a whole lot.But if you spend say 10 minutes around secondhand smoke, with lots of burning smoke not just exhalation, you will likely get buzzed, but it will be in a mild way and not like the same experience as smoking, but in a half assed sort of way.Even a quick whiff of secondhand smoke to me when someone in public smokes and I walk by and forcibly get some of the air, I do feel a little bit of THC enter my head.

Has anyone ever died from smoking marijuana?

While overdosing on THC from marijuana cigarettes is almost impossible, you are still smoking an unfiltered cigarette, with the same tars and carcinogens as a tobacco cigarette (and in all likelihood more so, because it is both unfiltered and unregulated.)So yes, I think it's fair to say people are dying due to smoking weed. Not from an OD but from cancer. In addition, if one really wants to make an issue of it, as Scott points out there are those who may suffer anaphylaxis and death due to allergy as is the case with any ingested or smoked substance. So it can't be said no deaths have occurred. Cancer doesnt kill quickly or with obvious causality, anaphylaxis is rare, birth defects in children may not be linked to their causes and so on, but all are potential costs real peope have to live with.In regard to long-term effects, marijuana use exploded in the 1960's and 70's, so we are only now really getting a large sample from which to observe what a lifetime of smoking can do to the body and mind. There are certainly anecdotal effects, and ones striking enough to have resulted in cultural stereotypes of "stoners." The usual stereotype is someone who is pretty brain impaired with slow slurred speech and significant disconnect from reality. And these stereotypes formed in the 70's and 80's from real world observation of the effects which suggest significant detrimental changes of the brain in young users with years of regular smoking. We really don't know what will happen to the brains and bodies of people who smoke for 40-50 years. There have been a handful of documented cases of cerebral infarction and heart failure as a probable result of smoking marijuana in both the very young and the elderly. And there have been a few studies, and it's reasonable that a number of deaths have resulted from accidents in which marijuana intoxication was a contributing factor.Smoke all you want, I don't care, but don't expect it to have no impact on you or your body. There is no form of intoxication which is free from risk.

I have smoked marijuana around 50 times... can i still become a cop? can i even get my POST cert..?

Different police departments have different requirements pertaining to applicants and past drug use. For example, some departments won't hire you if you've used marijuana more than a certain number of times (20 or 25 for example) regardless of how long it has been since you've last used it. Some police departments would still consider you even if you've used marijuana many times as long as it has been a certain number of years (5 or 7 for example) since you've last used it. You would be automatically disqualified with some agencies. As time passes, your chances of getting hired by some agencies might increase. It is great that you are getting a college degree. Getting a college degree is one of the best things that you can do. You could consider changing your major. Many people would suggest choosing a major other than criminal justice if you want to become a law enforcement officer. You should learn what you need to know about criminal justice during the academy, during your field training program, and during your first couple years as an officer. It is good to have something to fall back on if needed or wanted. There are many good majors for law enforcement officers and people that want to become law enforcement officers. Accounting, communications, computer science, a foreign language, and psychology are some examples. keep you grade point average high, participate in a couple extracurricular activities, get a good internship, do some regular volunteer work, don't do anything illegal, and maintain a good reputation.

Does smoking marijuana make your estrogen go up?

It is a nice question !I had no clue that weed had an impact on estrogen, so your question make wonder and look for answers. So, here is a scientific abstract i foundMarijuana: interaction with the estrogen receptor.as it is a little complicated for me to understand and explain it (English isn’t my mother tongue), i found an other article, easier to read ^^.So, what i understand is :Marijuana compete with estradiol for binding to the estrogen receptor ( for an exp on a rat)Condensed marijuana smoke also competed with estradiol for its receptorThe THC by itself (delta-9) doesn’t interact with the estrogen receptorVery high concentration of Cannabidiol (CBD) showed any estrogen receptor bindingApigenin (found in Cannabis) displayed high affinity for the estrogen receptor.Cannabis extract in large doses exhibited neither estrogenic nor antiestrogenic effects. Conclusion of the article :“although estrogen receptor binding activity was observed in crude marijuana extract, marijuana smoke condensate and several known components of cannabis, direct estrogenic activity of cannabis extract could not be demonstrated in vivo.”Second article :Man Boobs And Marijuana: Is THC A Proven Cause Of 'Moobs'?animal studies provide evidence that exposure to delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the active ingredient in marijuana, can decrease testosterone levels while also generally affecting the endocrine system.Referred to by doctors as “gynecomastia,” the condition is sometimes inherited, but more often it is caused by a simple hormone imbalance. It is interesting to note that although the condition affects approximately 33 to 41 percent of men between 25 and 45, higher rates bookend this central age range; gynecomastia affects 60 percent of 14-year-old boys and nearly the same percentage of men over 50Because gynecomastia does not usually cause pain or other physical symptoms, most people do not consider it a serious health problem. So, my conclusion from these 2 article is :Studies on animal show that YES, there is a link between marijuana and estrogen.Short conclusion ^^Peace & Enjoy
