Do school's have a right to search student's backpack\lockers?
Lockers are school property and therefore subject to search. Backpacks can only be searched if there is probable cause. Searches are necessary to protect students and school personnel from weapons. Searches are necessary to prevent illegal substances from being brought to school. Searches are helpful in trying to locate other students; property that has been stolen. Students should be able to expect some right to privacy with their possessions. Sorry, being a teacher it is difficult for me to come up with any other No reasons.
My teacher said that once you enter the school you forfeit all your rights. Is this true and is it right?
I go to a public school and she said that we loose all our rights when we walk into the school building. such as freedom of speech? and others in the constitution
Can schools search your locker/backpack without notification?
I was just wondering that if the school is going to search your locker, do they have to tell you? And do they have the right to look through your backpack because its personal property? because im a minor, can i request to have my parents present?
Is it illegal to cut off the car boot if it was put on by a high school official?
My school places those orange car boots on students' cars who park in the teachers' parking lot. Since its the school security guard who's putting this thing on, is it illegal for me to just remove it? I plan to just use an angle grinder. It'll cut through it in less than a minute. Technology is amazing isn't it.
