Do school's have a right to search student's backpack\lockers?

Lockers are school property and therefore subject to search.
Backpacks can only be searched if there is probable cause.

Searches are helpful in trying to locate other students; property that has been stolen.

Students should be able to expect some right to privacy with their possessions.

My school places those orange car boots on students' cars who park in the teachers' parking lot. Since its the school security guard who's putting this thing on, is it illegal for me to just remove it? I plan to just use an angle grinder. It'll cut through it in less than a minute. Technology is amazing isn't it.
