Do Vocal Lessons Actually Work

Is this normal after doing vocal lessons?

Talk to your teacher and see what he/she says. My sister took opera and pop for 6 years, taught for 3 years, and I have never heard of this problem. It could be that your stronger voice is technically bad, and that's why your voice seems weaker after warm-ups, or it could be you are doing your exercises wrong. How long have you been taking lessons? It could be that your voice is weaker after you do your warm-ups because it isn't used to all that work! Try taking a 5 minute break and drinking some hot tea with a little lemon and honey in it. It will coat your vocal chords and reduce any strain.

Good Luck!

Do voice lessons really work??!?

Cheap recording device have a poor recording and sound output quality anyway, so the ONLY TRUE and HONEST feedback comes from a fully trained vocal teacher after an OFFLINE one-on-one audition.

Then again, you are now hearing your voice completely outside of your skull for the first time, so it IS supposed to sound different, just because now you are hearing your voice WITHOUT any resonance from your skull bones and cavities.

Besides, NO-ONE is a born singer! All one has to be able to do beforehand is to carry a tune and the rest will follow during OFFLINE one-on-one lessons with a GOOD vocal teacher. And, proper development takes SEVERAL YEARS anyway, so you NEED to be VERY patient with yourself as well.

Should I take vocal lessons on YouTube?

If you are going to use YouTube for tips, that's fine for learning purposes, but you still need a teacher or someone capable of evaluating your voice to get you a starting point.  If you can't afford lessons, I would try the following:1. Study the tips without practicing (I like Justin Stoney's New York Vocal Coaching - Voice Lessons to the World, they reflect what I have learned with my teacher.)2. Find someone to evaluate you - a teacher at a local university or high school, or someone who can give you a trial lesson.  You need someone with developed ears who can at least give you some tips after hearing you.  3. Find a friend with reasonable ears.4. Record yourself and listen to yourself.  If you study the tips, you may be able to kind of get some of it and make small improvements - without a teacher you can definitely work on breath support and your cardiovascular health in general.  Without a teacher, you can get started training your ears on other voices and start to learn how to judge your recorded sound honestly.  But in order to make true progress, you'll need regular visits with a teacher who can give you warm-ups appropriate for you, let you know what you are doing that is unhealthy or things you can't yet discern with your own ears.  Even one lesson every few months is better than nothing, if you can manage that and find a teacher who has an empty slot from time to time for you and can be flexible.

Do vocal lessons help?

I have a pretty good singing voice & I love to sing .. there are just certain things I cant do when it comes to singing .. watch this video & skip to part 00:24 & listen to how he sings .. ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xHFF2VrHOa8&feature=related ) .. Don't hate please , I love him & don't laugh at his hair either .. there is an EXTREMELY specific reason why he shaved it like that .. his friend got diagnosed with leukemia & he shaved his head bald so his friend wouldnt be alone . & yes that is Justin Bieber . Anyways , would vocal lessons help me improve my singing like this ?

Do voice lessons actually help you sing better?

The technique your refering to is called a trill. When the notes move up and down extreemly fast to produce that wavy sound effect. SA voice teacher can help you in more ways than you know. A good vocal coach will train you classicaly first so you know how to breath, how your body works and how to use your posture to help your voice improve because your spial alignment plays a large role in the tone quality of your voice. Look for a good teacher who will train you classicly then help you work on alternative and mioxed voice music. =] Ive taken voice lessons for years, I train as a colutura soprano in opera and I do my own alternative music. This is an example of one song I composed (Im very sick when sinigng so exuse how scratchy my notes are) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g6TuncAHQ...

Im only able to sing liek that because I was trained to use my body and my breath to control my notes and my vocal chords. Adn you certainly can do the same! Good luck, I certainly hope I helped even a little bit!

Vocal/ Singing Lessons!?

Hello, I want to learn how to sing. I know I'm not good at singing at all like 0, but nothing is impossible in this world if you put hard work to it. So I want to know if Vocal Lessons really help. Like NOT talking about school cause in school the teachers from chorus they choose your voice like my first year in chorus class the teacher put me in the Alto and then next year with a new teacher she put me as a Bass. So practicly they choose you the way you have to sing and they don't teach much. I want to learn how to sing in all type of pitch but I'm more exited into learning to sing in high pitch. I'm a guy by the way, and I like high pitch because my favorite rockbands are Pierce The Veil & Sleeping With Sirens and I want to sing like Vic Fuentes (PTV) really bad but at the same time have my own style. So I have been searching in the internet for a personal teacher but I have got the classes cause I dont know if they really help. I've try to learn by myself by watching videos from "Eric Arceneaux" from youtube but it still doesn't help me cause I just can't find the way to control my voice, I'm not a deaf tone cause I can difference the highs and lows I just can't sing that's more simple. So please give me some tips of how I can get started. I've looked for teacher online in takelessons.com & getlessonsnow.com. Also if I were to take private lesson what could it be a good way to have lessons but not to expensive like how many times a weeks. plz help! and thank you!

Ok, so can singing lessons actually make your voice better?

YES OH YES.

You don't need to be born with an amazing voice to sing. That's what singing lessons are for. Half the people you see on American Idol, for example, (the bad and good people) have had singing lessons.

Without them, you won't be able to have your voice achieve its full potential.
