Do You Ever Find Yourself Losing Your Grip On Reality

Losing grip on reality?

As someone who has experienced (and continue to experience) things very much like what you have described, I can offer up two different viewpoints. You can go to a mental health professional, and they will in all likelihood feed you some form of chemical and tell you it will fix everything. I tried this, and it did not work. Antidepressants didn't help, antipsychotics will just screw you up in a different way. Doctors don't know enough about brain chemistry to effectively treat problems such as these. But, your body does. This is what helped me: Kundalini Yoga. It's very likely you're suffering from an imbalance of energies running through you're 6th chakra. Who knows what that means from a medical standpoint, but it doesn't matter. A trained yogi will be able to identify you're problems (in terms of chakras and energy flows) and help you to correct it. It may sound crazy, but it did wonders for me. I've been slipping a little lately, as I've moved to a new area and haven't been practicing. These things are real, and you will definitely notice both physical and mental differences a few weeks after beginning the practices. Find a yoga studio somewhere nearby. Most will offer Kundalini classes. I would recommend going once or twice per week, and it will make everything so much better. I hope you can take this advice, put your doubts aside, and give it a try. It will be the best choice you ever make.

Am I Losing my Grip on Reality?

"All the world is a stage"

Perhaps it is time to try your hand in drama. I am sure you watch anime subbed instead of dubbed, b/c it is just ten times better that way. Fear not, most fiction is an imitation of the best and worst things in life. Now that you have emersed yourself so well in the medium, why not branch out. Start writing you ideas, be original, and take a few steps toward civilization, since you will need resources to become a master of your gifts.

Think about these questions:
Do you see imperfections/inconsistencies in anime?
Do you prefer some styles of drawing vs. others?
Can you describe the subtle differences in the arts?
Do you like well rounded characters, simple characters, or both?
Do you find yourself in favor of villians more than heros?

And most importantly, do you BELIEVE that you have the potential to make some kick *** anime?

I know when I watch anime, subbed only, all I am after is a great story line. Sometimes, I get caught up in very long sagas that turn into fillers, and they end in the weakest possible fashion. I spend most of my time studying, and hanging out with friends. That's good and all, but I need more media...anime is there for when Hollywood is bent on making crappy movies. However, it seems like most animes end without any reasonable closure, or valuable life lesson. At least Hollywood ends with the guy getting the girl.

IF YOU CAN MAKE SOME GREAT STORIES WITH YOU NEWLY ACQUIRED SKILLS, please do so.

I warn you that animation does not pay nearly as well as...well, a teacher, and they complain about pay all the time. So, you might want to think of reasonable careers to focus on while working on your hobby. And no this, most great writers go out and see the world for their inspiration. Don't go ripping off, the 90 some percent of anime that does not even encourage me to think.

How do you know if you've lost your grip on reality?

Reality is a fluid thing at the best of times. What modern day professionals consider as having lost your grip on reality most probably isn't. Often, talking to oneself or considering crazy ideas as possible can be considered a sign that you have lost your grip on reality. That is not the case. Look at Elon Musk. He did things most people thought loopy and impossible, and he is very much in touch with reality, more so than most, if you ask me. The point at which you can be sure you have lost your grip on reality is the point at which the laws of the universe no longer apply in your mind. By this, I mean that you have started to believe that walking across the surface of the sun without any spacesuit would be a brilliant idea for Sunday lunch. I don't mean that questioning the current laws of physics is bad.

How would I know if I am losing touch with reality?

When you start seeing special meaning in everything, as the Universe helps or hinders you. You start paying attention to small coincidences and at some point you start believing they are not coincidence but there for a reason and they only confirm what you are thinking. Everything around you serves to confirm your thoughts and only reinforces your confidence that you're right. On the other hand others do not possess the knowledge and insight you do. You are bright, brilliant and special for having this insight and abilities that others don't. It goes as a snowball, starting from paying extra attention to small facts around you and reading more than they are through coincidences confirming your thoughts to getting thoughts which are increasingly bold, unusual and eventually out of touch with reality.

I feel like I'm losing my mind and losing touch with reality. Why?

Existential crisis. You know not what the world will hold for you in the future. You are aspring for much in a world too big for you to walk alone, but too small to traverse. There is something awaiting for you, but you can't accept it because it's not here.Like crossing a field of white snow only to find red velvet drop across it.You feel greatness is within your grasp your birthright. But yet no sign of it shows. But let me tell you. It's in your head.Your reality is yours alone, no one will hold your hand, your reality must be one with purpose, something that moves you to your core. Something that makes you want to accept the reality you live in and work towards it.Believe in something. Believe in God, or believe in yourself. Or believe in a cause worth dying for. Because you were born to die in 100 years anyway.A man with belief will rule the world. A man with nothing to believe in, well, your already in that position. Your losing your damn mind.

What does losing a sense of reality feel like?

Thanks for asking me to answer. From personal experience and observing this happening in others, I would characterize it as the feeling of increasing distance between oneself and one’s life. There was a brief time when I felt myself viewing the events happening in my own life from an increasingly detached perspective. Essentially becoming an observer to my own life, rather than feeling like an actual participant. A little disconcerting, but nothing I didn’t feel like I could handle. In Alice in Wonderland’s words, it felt “curiouser and curiouser”, scary sometimes, but not enough to stop me from wanting to see where it led. It’s worth nothing though, that i am aphantastic, meaning I lack a mind’s eye and a mind’s ear, so I am unable to visualize or auditorally recall anything in my mind. Aphantasia is fairly uncommon in our population though, so it’s very possible my experience in someone else with more normal mental function might have manifested differently or more distressingly. I can’t know. What is your experience? Can you comment below? I would love to hear.
