What is your favorite brazilian singer/band and why?

Ultraje a Rigor (Roger). (~Rigorously an outrage) They are the fast guitar on the radio with funny lyrics from the 80’s. The accent of the singer makes it funnier and cooler than other similar Brazilian rock bands.Roger was brilliant and he achieved success with easy and simple creative lyrics like:“ricotta” (some cream cheese done in an Italian fashion)“Crescendo”(growing)“Sexo o!” (sex)“Nos vamos invadir a sua praia” (we gonna invade your place)“Magali”“pelado” (naked)“Maximillian Sheldom”the band resembles slightly iron maiden with Madonna, sorry Roger!

Male Brazilian singer Spanish song famous in 70s?

So I'm trying to find out this song, a male Brazilian or Portuguese (or some ethnicity other than Latino) singer sang it in Spanish. It was a romantic song that was a hit in the US in the 70s. His stage name was just one name I think. Not two.
I know this is very vague but anybody have any idea of who it could have been or how I could find it out? The singer also kinda disappeared after the song, kind of a one hit wonder.
