Do You Know Any Good Psychological Theories On Homophobia

I'm gay and i like a homophobic guy?

Maybe you're not really gay then. That's why you are subconsciously going after a guy you know you can never have; because, deep down inside, you don't want a man.

Edit: Ha ha, fuhk your life!

Is Jon Bon Jovi homophobic?

It is not that JBJ does not like gay "people" ---
he has simply expressed that the lifestyle is not one that he would be comfortable in-or-with.

As an Entertainer, he has likely been *approached* a million times, and he has handled it all quite well.

Do Not misconstrue his personal choices and being straight with anything else you may be thinking ....
he is an honest & fair guy .... and certainly not "phobic" about anything of the kind.

If you were straight would you be homophobic?

An interesting question. The closest I can come to imagining what it would be like to be a straight person's feelings towards gay/bis would be my own feelings about trans people. Some of them do make me very uncomfortable. It's a gut reaction. I'm not proud of it. But I do my best to try to see trans people as people who happen to be trans. I know that a lot of straight people really do try to see gay/bi people as people who happen to be gay/bi. There are homophobes among straight people. There are biphobes among gay people. Sadly there are transphobes everywhere. I try not to be one of them.

The four major perspectives in psychology are(psychodynamic, behaviorist, cognitive, and evolutionary.)?

Well Yes pretty much the big ones, Heres my brief outline
Psychodynamic - Freud started of this approach, He concentrated on the unconscious - 'Id/Ego/Superego', dreams and their interpretation and sexual stages in children and their effects on when your older. Generally Psychodynamic approach concentrates on what happened to people as children, and what is going on in there subconcious minds and conflicts that arise from these. (Jung also)
Behaviourism - Skinner, Generally believe that we are born blank slates and we gain everuthing via the enviroment. Basis on learning and how we learn and aquire things I.e phobias, behaviours, etc Classically or operantly. (Pavlov Dogs good for CC)
Cognitive - I know the least about this area, But concentrates on cognitive patterns within our minds and how we view the world. Cognitive-Behavioural therapy is one of the most successful therapies and is derived from the assumptions and focuses on how to change our thought patterns.
Biological/Evolutionary - There are difference between the two as evolutionary approach beleives in the evolution of behaviours in society, and Biology focuses on Genes and there effect on behaviour, disorders, behaviour and there iological basis and reactions and how biology can effect the way we act.
Humanistic psychology is usually a common area that is forgotten - Maslow hierachy of needi pretty well known though. Its approach is based the fact we all have free will and we all are all conscious human beings. See the 'person' as important rather.
There are many other categories.. e.g Developmental as well but I thought id go through the most popular ones.
