What race do I put in if I'm mixed?
Asian genetics are dominant over White. My children are half Asian / half White. They look Asian but because they grew up in a White community they have many more White friends than any other. They think and act as Whites do.
Why do some mixed race people look more like their other race?
The answer is the same as answering why someone looks more like their father or more like their mother. Genes match up and create a person’s look in whatever way with each child. For this reason you may see children with the same mother and father who may look like a true blend of both parents, or each child may strongly favor one or the other parent.We could get into how genetics work with recessive and dominant traits but that does not really explain why each person looks different from the next, even within the same family.The person you know happens to look more like the Russian parent. He could just as easily look more Japanese. But remember, while we are on the subject of genetics, looks are not the only thing that get passed along. Certain disease traits, allergies, talents and gifts can also be passed along. How a person looks is the result of two sets of DNA coming together to form a new being. Parents never really know what they’re going to get until they’ve got it.
What do you think of mixed-race babies?
I've seen cute ones of both the combinations. Theres some not so pretty looking ones too. I myself am mixed (half african, and the rest being italian & french) was quite cute as with my sister and brother. but my cousins weren't as lucky. it all depends on which childs inherits what, for all you know your child may look more like your grandparent then they do you. i would worry more about whether you think he would be a good father first as with medical history before what your child may or may not look like.

I’ll wait for a genetics expert to weigh in on this, but I think there are 2 components here:When I think about it, I wouldn’t say that mixed race people are automatically more beautiful. But that depends on what you consider beautiful. They do, however, tend to look more unusual, and unusualness is something that many people (myself included) find attractive/compelling.As far as I understand, inbreeding does not typically produce very attractive people (Targaryens excluded) - I believe it’s because certain recessive traits (like a weak chin, etc.) have a better chance of emerging. So, on that theory, the farther you get from inbreeding, the better the chances at having a healthy and attractive child. (This is something that I would love a genetics expert to confirm.)
The struggle of being mixed race. Do you still want to have kids with someone who is racially different from you?
I am 80% European and 20% Amerindian. As someone who was born mixed race, I do not have an identity and I don't look like anybody else. I wish that my father would do a smarter decision when he decided to get married to a mixed race woman, because now I'm in a deep pain. I can't even explain the feeling when I want to hang out with my fellow Europeans and they simply don't consider me as part of them. I don't fit into any group and this is killing me.
What would you rather be called - mixed race or colored?
I prefer to be called colored. It's such a beautiful word! It brings happy thoughts, all my friends and their children like to be called colored too.

Many would agree I'm sure.There are 2 things going on and they are related to each other.There are credible studies that show that we, humans, tend to be attracted to people that are visibly different from us. This has an evolutionary advantage as it provides better genetic diversity since genes are more likely to be slightly different meaning if there is a genetic defect that is prevalent within a population bringing a mate from another population will provide a good gene that can mitigate or negate the defect. Likewise positive traits are more likely to be present in offspring.For a simple view say that within a population there are 2 alleles of a gene A & B where A is normal and B is bad. An offspring could be expected to get any of the following25% AA50% AB25% BBIntroduce a person outside of the population that is AA or functionally equivalent to AA then you see the following50% AA50% ABSo the immediate offspring automatically are immune from the BB and more likely to have 2 fully functioning genesBut genetics is even better because in many situations you only need 1 good copy of the gene meaning AB is just as healthy as AA.So even if the parent from another population has some other genetic defect the likely hood is that their mate from a different population will not have that defect. Thus defects in the different locations will tend to go away.It is thought that this is at least a part of the reason why we see people from different cultures as exotic and more attractive.My niece and nephew’s mother is from Thailand. My family’s decent is English, Irish, Portuguese, and German. Here in Australia we often call people like them “Halfies” and yes many people think they have a very nice look about them. This could be because they look a bit different but still have a number of traits people feel are familiar.Depending on your up bringing this evolutionary trait to find other races attractive is often overridden at least in public. History shows us that many racist have found the people they are racist against attractive and end up having children. Evolutionary psychology is a tough thing to fight.

I completely agree that the best looking people are of mixed race... Prince Charles is a pedigreed pureblood, and has that done anything for him in the looks department?! Nope, nada! You gotta spread the genes around a bit, first rule of genetics. Ok, but seriously, I've always found mixed race guys attractive for a few reasons: 1. Dark skin + light eyes = very hot (when it works out that way--even if that's not the specific outcome, there's usually some interesting combination of features that you don't see every day). 2. They get the benefits of looking exotic, without even trying. 3. They'll make beautiful babies with women of any heratige. 4. Their families might come from mixed cultures, which always does good things for their personalities. 5. You just can't stop looking at how beautiful they are :) Don't know if that helps, but it's a little hard to describe why, exactly. PS--to second what someone else said, hot or not, it doesn't matter if you treat someone badly--that will make you hideous no matter what your genes are like.
