Do You Think American Football Is 1 Stupid 2 For Idiots

Do you like the stupid sport of (American) Football?

nooo its so stupid there is no point of the game

What do Europeans think of American Football, like the NFL?

Most of them have a very poor opinion of it. They don't watch it, and it's only shown on a few channels as a time filler late at night or early in the morning.

The general opinion is that (American) football is an idiots version of rugby. They laugh at all of the padding that players wear, especially the helmets (It's almost unheard of for a European to wear a helmet in any sport other than a motor sport). It's the same with cups/jock straps. Most European sports don't use them. The are a sign of weakness. If you can't take a kick to the groin (or dodge a blow to the groin) then you shouldn't be on the field, and if you have to kick an opponent in the groin to get the ball, then you shouldn't be on the field, either.

They also laugh at all of the time outs. In most European sports the game only stops when the referee orders it due to injury or a foul. You cant stop and set up a formation, you must do it all on the fly.

Overall, Europeans tend to think that football players are all brawn and no brains because tackling is the main way of stopping an opponent, and that it's a game for cavemen. The tend to think that it takes more intelligence and more skill to do the fancy footwork in games like soccer, or to evade in games like rugby.

Of course, they see more football in the movies than anywhere else, so they tend to form their opinions based on high school jocks on TV than on actual football games. Most can't name more than 2 players or teams, and I doubt that most of them know when the superbowl is, or who won it last.

Is football the most stupid sport in the world?

Every once in awhile I turn on football since there is nothing else on BUT why is there a commercial every 30 seconds, review every other play, injuries left and right, fat people using oxygen mask, and bunch of idiots in the fans.

this is why im a baseball fan =]

Do you think Cricket is a stupid, boring game as many consider it to be?

Unlike tennis, football, volleyball, hockey etc etc, in cricket you have one team entirely seated while the opposite team plays. Secondly, unless the ball comes to the fielder, he's a dummy on the field. Unless the ball comes to the batsman, he again can play endlessly without being out. Sometimes (most of the times) most of the players dont get a chance to play if a player doesnt get out. So, is it right to call Cricket a sport at all? or is it a stupid game as Shaw says, "Cricket - a game which eleven fools play and elevnthousand fools watch."

Do most football fans have low intelligence?

I just don't understand all the seemingly idiotic things that football fans do, such as.

1. Getting overly excited. Yelling at their TV's. Yelling at the top of their lungs at stadiums, intentionally trying to be as loud and rowdy as possible, etc. Don't get me wrong, I can enjoy watching a game of football, and appreciate the game in an intelligent fashion. I've never once felt the need to go crazy and scream my head off and act like a retarded wild animal. Other sports fans such as golf fans can also intelligently watch their game in a well behaved manner. Are football fans mostly just of low intelligence, and that's why they act like wild baboons? Or is there some other explanation?
2. So many football fans seem like idiots the way they support their team. Most of them do not make an intelligent choice as to who is their favorite, they just automatically default to whoever their local team is. They paint and even tattoo their bodies with their team logo, they throw big parties just to get drunk and yell about how good their default favorite team is, and how bad whatever the other team is. They talk about their team all season long, like their life revolves around their default favorite. Myself, I can enjoy the qualities of any team, and it doesn't matter who wins, I can intelligently enjoy the game which takes place, without even the need for favorites. So why do most go absolutely wild like maniacs when their team wins, and practically riot and get so angry when their team looses. Is it simply a matter of low intelligence on average? Or something else?
