Do You Think George Zimmerman Is Guilty

How is George Zimmerman guilty?

The prosecution has done a poor job in my opinion. Would anyone make a compelling argument why George Zimmerman is guilty.

Here is what I'm aware of;

1. Zimmerman is the neighborhood watch person. He is aware that there have been many burglaries.
2. Zimmerman sees Trayvon walking behind people's houses. It's raining, yet Trayvon continues to stroll around the neighborhood. He looks suspicious. (This is NOT racial profiling)
3. Zimmerman calls the cops. He get's out of his car and looks for a street name sign. Trayvon believes Zimmerman is trying to stalk him.
4. Trayvon confronts Zimmerman and breaks his nose and bangs his head on the concrete.
5. Out of self defense, Zimmerman shoots Martin.

I believe that this is a self defense case. Zimmerman was obviously injured by Martin and needed to use force to save his life.

What evidence is there that Zimmerman murdered Trayvon???
What evidence is there that Zimmerman racially profiled Trayvon?

Why do you think George Zimmerman is guilty or innocent?

Because he didn’t do anything wrong, there shouldn’t even have been an arrest and trial. The only reason for it was because of complaints from “community organizer” types trying to stir up trouble. Zimmerman’s trial was purely political, which is a disgusting thing in a supposedly free society. The media and even the president jumped on the bandwagon condemning Zimmerman before all the facts were discovered. The guy is lucky he wasn’t killed by a crazy person that was amped up by the wild accusations.

Do you think George Zimmerman will testify?

My bet is no.  From what I have seen, he made enough statements pre trial.  So many, in fact, that the police and or prosecutors initially declined to prosecute.  Much of this is going to come in without him taking stand.  If he takes the stand, he will be subject to an ugly cross examination regarding the statements he already made.  From what little I have seen, he made a lot of these earlier statements without the benefit of counsel.  Often times this results in a poorly constructed version of events with a lot of holes and inconsistencies stated ad hoc, not subject to critical review for hard questions prior to talking to the police.  However, whatever he said, it was successful in initially convincing law enforcement not to prosecute.  By taking the stand, he compounds the problem, because he subjects himself to cross examination on these statements.  Really, taking the stand is like walking into quicksand where he is going to struggle with everything he said in the past.  While Cliff has a point about limiting the direct testimony, it seems like an impossible line to walk with prior statements attempting to create a self defense claim.

Be The Jury: Is George Zimmerman Innocent Or Guilty?

not guilty

Do you think George Zimmerman will kill himself or get murdered?

The concept that George Zimmerman (no relation, I promise) was guilty lives solely on the left, which has a habit of being particularly violent of late.I give it a 10% chance George Zimmerman is murdered at some point for his political views, whatever they are, and 90% that it was his own doing for how out of control he’s become. The man had his entire life destroyed, was found not guilty, and then continued to be harassed to this day for a crime he apparently didn't commit. I don’t blame him for going a bit crazy. He needs to get some help and try to balance things out though.

Do you believe that George Zimmerman is guilty? 10 points:)?

Yes, I believe he's guilty because he got his BIG FAT SLOPPY A** out of the car and shot trayvon Martin ... Why? Because trayvon was African American.. And I hope George Zimmerman gets f*cked in the a** from the shower to the bed for hours with a broom stick..

Does the not guilty verdict of George Zimmerman indicate a loophole in Florida law that could legalize murder?

1. You just broke the law (this is textbook harassment under Florida statutes), and self defense statutes don't protect you.2. Congratulations! You just committed felony assault with a firearm! In Florida that gets you 20 years consecutive with the sentences for any other crimes you are convicted of. Since there is no parole for felony convictions in the Sunshine State, that means you get 7,300 extra days in prison! Now you can catch up on all that reading you've been meaning to do. 3. No, because you violated at least 2 laws getting to this point. And by the way, since you shot somebody your 7,300 days have been upgraded to exactly as many days as you have remaining. 4. Only if the jury finds the story you make up to be credible. If the story you just told is the one you have to walk into court with (because of witnesses or video evidence, for example) even the greenest public defender is going to tell you to take a plea so the death penalty comes off the table, since what you have described is pre-meditated murder. You'd have to hate someone pretty badly to create a scenario where unless everything goes perfectly the only unknown is how long it will be before you die in prison.

Is George Zimmerman guilty of killing Trayvon Martin?

Yes he's guilty of killing Trayvon. He's admitted to doing so. The bullet in Trayvon came from his gun that he was holding when the cops arrived.

The question is...was this shooting somehow justified as either self defense or under Florida's vague "stand your ground" law, or was it 1st degree murder. 1st degree murder carries a very specific set of requirements that the prosecution must prove to the jury in order to get a conviction.

We don't have all the information so it's impossible for us to make this determination.

Zimmerman claims Trayvon attacked him, so he shot in self defense. Ok...that would make sense except that we also know Zimmerman was following Trayvon - against the direct advice of the 911 operator he was on the phone with at the time. This strongly indicates that Zimmerman intended to confront Trayvon - but by itself does not prove that he did. If Zimmerman did indeed start the fight as it were, can he still claim self defense? After all, based on what we know of Trayvon's actions that night, he was not looking to confront Zimmerman. In fact he was on his cellphone with his girlfriend and told her he was scared because he was being followed. If Trayvon felt threatened by Zimmerman, might it have been Trayvon - not Zimmerman - that was acting in self defense? In this case Zimmerman would probably be found not-guilty of first degree murder.

Trayvon was on his way back to his step-mother's house. He was visiting them, so he was not a resident of the neighborhood. Zimmerman and Trayvon did not know each other therefore any information about Trayvon's previous behaviors is irrelevant here. Furthermore, as a member of the neighborhood watch, it was never Zimmerman's job to follow, let alone confront, Trayvon. The only "suspicious" thing Trayvon was doing was walking back to the house.

As I said there are a lot of details we're missing, and honestly we're never going to know the fully story because Trayvon can't tell his side of the story.

I think the jury will find Zimmerman not-guilty. The cops didn't do a proper job collecting evidence at the scene, and have already been accused of changing witness' statements. It's basically going to be OJ Simpson all over again.
