Do You Think It Is Ok For A Boss To Openly Criticise An Employee Behind His Back Unless About To

How do I react when people talk behind my back?

Here are a few ideas -Plug in your earphones. Squint your eyes and like a ninja, quickly glance left and right. When no one is looking, discreetly turn down the volume to zero. You’re a sneaky little devil, aren’t you? Crafty too! Everybody around you thinks that you’re listening to music. That you can’t hear what they’re saying. So, they’ll immediately start bitching about you. But you, like a pro ninja, would be listening to every word they utter. Every ten seconds, start headbanging or swaying your shoulders to further enhance the illusion.Buy a cell phone. Actually, buy a hundred cellphones. Turn on their voice recorders. Then visit the homes of all your friends and relatives who you suspect bitch about you behind your back. Ask them for a glass of water. Wow! You’re a master spy. James Bond would be so jealous of your moves right now. When they go to the kitchen, plant a cell phone under their dining room table, ’coz… u know… dining room is where the bitching takes place. If you want to be on the safe side, plant a cellphone in every room of their house. Boy! you’re gonna need a lot of cell phones.Ask your tailor to sew a microphone in the back of your every t-shirt. Develop a machine learning algorithm to analyze the data that your microphones collect throughout the day and identify the most bitchy bitchers. Sell that algorithm to Google for a billion dollars. Retire and spend the rest of your days in Hawaii, basking in the sun on sandy beaches, sipping virgin Mojitos and bitching about your old friends.Or you could… you know… just stop giving a fuck!

What should I do if my religion is being openly mocked at my office and the CEO is one of the worst offenders? We are small and have no HR options to report to.

Here is what the EEOC says:"Religious Discrimination & HarassmentIt is illegal to harass a person because of his or her religion.Harassment can include, for example, offensive remarks about a  person's religious beliefs or practices. Although the law doesn't  prohibit simple teasing, offhand comments, or isolated incidents that  aren't very serious, harassment is illegal when it is so frequent or severe that it creates a hostile or offensive work  environment or when it results in an adverse employment decision (such  as the victim being fired or demoted). The harasser can be the victim's supervisor, a supervisor in another  area, a co-worker, or someone who is not an employee of the employer,  such as a client or customer."source: Religious DiscriminationI cannot tell you what is your best decision. I do not know the details of your situation. If I were an employer, I would want you to go through your chain of command with your concerns.  If you decide to take action, then go through your supervisors first and follow your chain of command.  Most employers do not want regulatory agencies involved.  Most of the time, these things can be nipped in the bud, just by bringing up your concerns with your supervisor.  If there are still problems or if the problems get worse after you follow they chain of command, then the EEOC and/or lawyer may be valid options.http://www.eeoc.gov/Guidance by Subject AreaIf there really is harassment occurring, then you have options.  You have a right not to be harrassed.  At the same time your employer deserves the opportunity to fix the problem.  The problem may be obvious to you, but not so obvious to other people.Do be careful.  Be polite.  Do not burn bridges if you can help it.I am not a lawyer.  I am simply telling you the options I would consider if I were in your shoes. On a personal note.  I am not religious.  My brother is very religious.  I have noticed he takes slights to comments that I would not think twice about.  I cannot determine if you are experiencing harrassment or not.

Are resume writing services worth the money? Anyone try theladders.com service?

I'm in a situation that is prompting me to look for another job (before I get laid off). I'm wondering if getting my resume re-worked by a service would be worth the money. I had theladders.com review my resume and they ripped it to shreads. Of course, for a modest fee of $645, the will make it all better. Anyone has experience with this? Please help!

What is the best thing about someone born under the cancer sign?

Positive Traits: kind, loving, emotional, intuitive, imaginative, shrewd, cautious, protective and sympathetic.

Negative Traits: changeable, moody, over-emotional, touchy, untidy, clinging, unable to "let go," and a tendency to wallow in self-pity.

Likes: hobbies, romance, children, parties, home and country.

Dislikes: failure, opposition, aggravating situations, being told what to do and being given advice...whether good or bad.

Natives of Cancer are probably most in tune with those governed by Pisces, since Pisces is prone to moods just like Cancer, but of a less volatile nature. This is a couple who will find peace and harmony throughout the majority of their relationship.

Scorpio, another Sign ruled by the element of Water, would also be favorable since Scorpio is equal to the moods of Cancer and capable of great understanding. Cancer finds the Scorpio depth of character intriguing and will certainly appreciate the rich view of life inherent in the Scorpio nature, to say nothing of the awareness and perception associated with that Sign. This is a couple who will likely provide everything either has ever wanted in a relationship. The physical chemistry here is quite amazing...it is long-lasting and only gets better with the passage of time.

Actress's Name that Played.(10pts who gets it First)?
