Why Americans are so against Immigrants (illegal or not)?
First of all, let me start by saying that I was born in America and my parents were once immigrants. My mom is from Brazil and my dad is from Middle East. I'm happy that I am mixed because I can experience two different culture =p Well I just don't understand why ppl are so against immigrants... especially Mexican immigrants. All they want is a better life, and America has the best to offer it. Wouldn’t u want the best possible life? Do u have any idea what they have to go through to jump the border? I know this Mexican construction worker who said he paid $1000 to a group of guys to help him jump the border (of course there was more ppl along with him) He told me during the trip he witnessed women being raped, children dying of hunger/thirst and travelers just collapsing from the hot weather. It’s kinda sad when they realize they have to go back to their country. Okay so I know this girl in my school that is very racist against illegal immigrants and we are having a conversation just yesterday. I asked her, what bother her the most and she said that immigrants are taking all of the available jobs out there. Awww come on, most immigrants work getting paid min wage or even less and their jobs are more likely to be those job that no one wants to work (harvesting, construction worker, etc…) She also said some immigrants come here with a criminal record…….if u had a criminal record, wouldn’t u want to move somewhere else? They are ruining the economy? Okay that’s the only thing I agree, we can’t tell if they are paying their taxes or not, and yet they’re taking advantage if our public system, such as our children’s education. Sure this mean more fund for ESL students, but come on…we are on debt and we are paying millions of dollar to the War in Iraq. Why pay millions dollar for the useless war while we can use the money to help a human being in having better life? The only thing that annoys me is that we are here paying our taxes and they are not. So in my opinion, to solver this, we should welcome illegal immigrants, register every one of them (not necessarily make them US citizen), and make sure they are paying their taxes. Come on, we are all human….immigrants was the one who build this great country. Think about it~

Not unless you’re all ready racist or a bad person to start with!Seriously, while a lot of people on the left/supporting illegal immigrants like to over-generalize/stereotype anyone who disagrees with them as a racist, anti-immigrant, trump supporter…..or whatever other desperately childish insults they can think of. And then try and wear them down calling them that until they either shut-up and stop opposing them or start to agree with them out of a false guilt or something.Being against illegal immigration DOES NOT automatically make you racist or “a bad person” (whatever you specifically mean by that). You can be against illegal immigration but completely in support of LEGAL immigration at the same time. You can want to give everyone a fair shot at coming here while respecting the laws/sovereignty of this country (the same as any other country).I mean I would definitely say our legal immigration system needs some work to try and make it more accessible so illegally coming here could possibly become less attractive. (if only people paid as much attention to the problems of potential legal immigrants as much as illegals) But until that happens I don’t think it’s a bad thing simply to want any immigrants to come here legally without jumping the line or breaking the law and then wanting special treatment.I think you just have a lot of people acting like it is, and it seems like it’s obviously gotten to you a bit if you’re asking this.

How and why?Yes, but I think that them being legal would be better.When we look at immigrants the are over 2x more likely to start businesses than US born citizens[1] .They are, by their nature, people that strive for a better life. As far as crime goes legal immigrants either don’t commit any more crimes than natural born citizens at worst or have lower crime rates[2]Illegal immigrants are even more law abiding, besides being in the country illegally.So they aren’t bad for the economy and don’t break laws as often, contributing more to the economy than they cost. But it would be better if they had a legal pathway presented for them. These people are just sick minded, and the ones who support it are too. It just shows that they are the real terrorists so instead of sending our troops overseas, they should come home, and fight these idiots.
Why can't someone be against illegal immigration and pro legal immigration and reform?
I really don't understand when I hear people from the Democratic side vehemently criticize anyone who talks about the need to enforce current laws to prevent chaotic inflows without consequence of illegal immigrants. Lax enforcement makes no sense to defend as encourages mass illegal inflows and destabilizes our economy.25 years ago or so, many of the trades were viable careers that paid well but mass inflows of illegal immigrants have pushed down wages dramatically hurting many trades causing them to drive their children to go the white collar corporate route and making college the only road for career pursuit. If I were an illegal immigrant I would have done the same thing and in desperation offered work for cash under the table for much less. Completely understand why and I don't condemn them for the effort.It is also valid to criticize our immigration system for not being more accommodating and efficient with selective screening for those that are coming here to work. Even more temporary visas if we are trouble having trouble filling those jobs especially in agriculture.It is a common rant that immigrants take the jobs Americans won't do. It is more correct to say wages are so poor for many jobs that Americans can't afford to have a decent lifestyle at those wages. I'm not talking about entry-level fast food jobs which are low skill starter jobs that can lead to upward career mobility. Talk to anyone working construction, trades, manufacturing and yes even in agriculture 25 to 30 years ago and tell them allowing illegal immigrants in mass to come here is great for America.No one criticizes Switzerland for being the most racist nation in the world because they strictly enforce their immigration laws. Instead they are allotted as having a very high standard of living in stable economy.
