I have a thing for her. And its not just when she plays Katniss. I mean I fell in love with her when I saw that movie, but when I saw her in an interview on youtube it just made me like her even more.

Plus, she is totally beautiful as a blonde. I hope sometime before I die that me and her can date. Heck, even if we were both old as hell. As long as I can just be with her, you know.

I can't stand her. She was kind of alright in Hunger Games but she's all pinched looking and her puffy face and beady eyes are what my nightmares are made of. I also don't get the appeal of that Zooey Deschenel chick. Everyone's like, omg she's so quirky and nerdy and funny, but she's just annoying. Quirky chicks who try too hard are only good until I blow my load, then it's just like, meh.

Not at all, she's a talented actress. :) With a wonderful personality. I don't know how long she's been in the business but for someone as young as her, I think she's done great. She's been in movies like American Hustle & Silver-linings Playbook - and she may be in the Hunger Games (the type of franchise that people normally associate w/ "overrated") - but I wouldn't judge her for that. She acts well, compared to others who are so much more overrated than she is.

Plus-- even if she isn't exactly classy like Angelina Jolie or Charlize Theron or other A-listers, she has that thing about her that makes her a star. Like I said, she's got a great personality she's only flaunting for her own advantage. It's made her more appealing to the masses and already having the talent, her funniness/clumsiness just lifts her higher, gains her even more fans, makes her somewhat a symbol of this generation's Hollywood the way Audrey Hepburn was for being who she was, back in her day.

I so agree with you. She's a very very brilliant actress, has model looks, but the reason why people like her is because she's 'down to earth'. There are loads of actresses who deserve an oscar and are pretty like her too, and they're not recognized.
Jennifer is always going on about how she LOVES food, and how she never works out, but how can she have such an amazing figure if all she does is shoves burgers down her throat and sits on the couch watching reality TV. I think she secretly makes night dashes to the gym. I think she pretends to be clumsy to get attention; like she can't even walk up stairs! She fell/tripped in the Oscars twice, fell up the stairs twice, once at the Oscars, and once at the X men premiere. People see her trip and fall, and eat fries, and just think "she's one of us!!!"
She's funny though, i have to give her that.

Listen... I'm a really shy person but Jen is still my role model. And opposites don't attract for everyone. Everyone hates something in this world even if they aren't proud of it. I don't think she meant it to be offense, I think she was just being honest.
I'm not saying what she did was right but you have to keep in mind that speaks without thinking a lot. She's honest. She won't sugarcoat it. I admire that about her.
And also... I've found that shy people usually dislike loud people and the other way around for the latter. So maybe it's just natural? Who knows what was going through her mind? But I'm almost positive she never meant to hurt anything. It was a mistake. You shouldn't lose respect for her because she was being an honest human being.

GOD YES

her acting is good when she is given an over the top emotional character like in Silver Linings or American Hustle but she RUINED the Hunger Games for me and a lot of fans who wanted it to stay true to the book
her acting was terrible.

i think its really arrogant of her not to try to get in shape for the role of a girl from a starving and impoverished district because little girls will starve themselves looking up to her. She should take a note from Christian Bale and his dedication to looking and acting the part.

As for her being "down to earth" she is smart enough to realize that if you are self effacing and fake modesty it will endear you to people who think you just honestly dont think youre that awesome

Am I the only one who thinks that Jennifer Lawrence is extremely overrated?

I personally do not agree, although I can somewhat see what you're saying and why you might have a problem with her. I'm not huge over Jenifer Lawrence but really I think she's a great actress. In Catching Fire when Katniss was told she had to go back into the arena I think Jennifer's facial expressions were perfect. In the Hunger Games when Katniss was volunteering for Prim at the reaping I noticed Jenifer's panicked expression and voice crack when she called Prim's name and I think it was very effective for the scene. I do not clearly understand where you see flaws in her acting, although at times (like in the elevator scene in Catching Fire) I found her facial expressions didn't quite fit Katniss' character. Then again, not everyone's perfect.

For looks I don't necessarily care, I mean it doesn't effect her personality or acting or anything else, so as far as I care she can look how ever she'd like.

I suppose you could be right about her lying about her diet, although what if she exercises? She's said herself she does. Exercising everyday can help you loose weight just as well as a non-junk-food-diet. I'm sure Jenifer does eat junk food but then exercises in order to fit the appearance characteristics of Katniss (and possibly other characters she is portraying).

Personally I don\t pay that much attention to actors and actresses, I'm not really a big fan of that, I just watch movies. I wouldn't know how she was acting at the Oscars or how she looked, although again I don't really care what she looks like. Attention seekers, like you state Jenifer Lawrence is, are just that. Some people don't like attention, some people do. Frankly I think, do what you want to do. So long as you stay appropriate go for it and get all the attention, if that's what makes you happy.

I don't mean to put down any of your opinions if that's what you think I am doing here, I am just comparing my opinions to yours. Again I'm not wild about Jenifer Lawrence, but I personally do think she's a wonderful actress.

I think she deserves her praise, but I do agree that she's taken praise that isn't rightfully hers. What I mean by that is, for example, her role in Silver Linings Playbooks. It was a great movie, and she's a great actress. However, I think Bradley Cooper played a much better part, and a acted better in it. Therefore, I think he deserved praise there.
On the other hand, she did rise out of nowhere, and is becoming a great star. People like the "Twilight" cast rose to fame really quick, but can you say they acted as well as she did? You know? I think she has a very down to earth poise, and I admire that she can pick fun at herself, admit her mistakes, and laugh things off so easily. As for her looks, she's pretty. She's average. She doesn't seem like she tries too hard, and I like that. She's naturally beautiful - considering she attended a red carpet event without makeup...you have to give her something for that one.

Overall, she's a good actress, she's pretty...I say she's an 8
