Do You Think My Kitty Is Sick

New kitty is sick?

Ive taken care of many kittens in my life. Helping shelters, rehoming and such but i decided to move and adopt a cute little cat. Brought him home and with 6 hours he started having painful diarrhea. So just made sure he drank enough water and gave him some moral support think its because he's stressed out and i changed his food. It's been about 5 days then i decided to bring him to the vet. Vet talked about how cute, alert, comfortable and playful he is and thinks the (now not crying in the litter box painful) diarrhea is probably just a stomach bug. There has been zero vomiting.
They gave me dewormers and a prescription diet for him. Since he is so small i give him 1 cup of food a day and he drinks about a cup of water a day too. He's been taking the dewormers and acting just fine but since then (sorry if this is tmi) but I'm literally starting to have the same symptoms as he is when it comes to bowel movements. And it nearly smells the same to. I don't know if it is a stomach bug or not or if i could have contracted something from the new cat. I donut even know if that's possible. Someone's please gives me an idea of what's going on? This kitten already cost me overall $300 of the first week of me having him. I'm not the type of person who will get rid of an animal based on its health. I just need help making sense of it all. I don't feel the vet made any conclusion that i couldn't have made myself.

How can my cat tell if I'm sick?

Oh cats know if you're sick all right. They also know if you’re anxious or depressed. They're very sensitive & empathetic creatures. My sweet kitty certainly knows & he does his uttermost to help me by cuddling up & purring & not leaving my side. It always works. But I'm not the only one he does this to, if other members of my family are in need of emotional support, he's right there to the rescue with the same results. He is such an amazing comfort, as will other cats be if they're given the chance. We humans need to be more in tune with our pets’ efforts to communicate with us. They do tell us things. We just need to be more observant & sensitive to them.Cats (& dogs & horses) read emotions & body language just the same as we do but are just more astute & sensitive AND they also have a much keener sense of smell. They can smell changes in the body that we can’t. Scientists have proven that dogs can detect cancer in humans long before we can. Laboratory tests have demonstrated that a dog’s sense of smell is so keen it can detect very early stage cancer in urine & when it’s been lab tested proved to be correct. Dogs have saved lives in this way.

How can I tell if my cat is sleeping or sick?

Wake it up and give it a treat that is it's favorite. Cats sleep 75% of the time, don't worry until it stops drinking and cleaning itself. If it doesn't move or help itself after a day, then you should watch it more closely and considar taking it to the vet. Also, another good indicator or illness is if it is pooping or peeing outside the box. Cats don't always howl when they don't feel good, they are silent sufferers. How old is your cat? I had a cat that lived to be 20 years old. At that age she just didn't have the energy to do much but sleep and eat. Maybe it's just a sign of age you didn't notice before.

If a cat snifels r they sick???????

Sniffles can be allergies or illness. It could also be from the dry air if you are in an area that is cold and you are running your heat.

If the sniffles started with the weather change try running a cool mist humidifier. We have two going now and it helps us and the kitties.

Another thing with the cold weather is if anyone smokes, you burn candles, use air, fabric or carpet freshener with fragrance this may be causing some allergic reaction since the home is closed up.

If the sniffles are from illness other signs you will see are teary eyes, sores on the tongue or roof of the kitty's mouth and possibly fever. A cat's normal temperature is 101-102.5 F, so kitty will feel warm to you, be if kitty is extremely warm, it is fever.

If the sniffles, regardless of the cause, change kitty's eating and drinking routine, call the vet immediately.

Also, if kitty hasn't had a wellness check in a while, it might be a good idea to schedule one. Better to know than worry.

Purrs to you and kitty.
