What happens to Neo in The last Matrix Movie at the end?
Neo and Smith are different manifestations of the same reality. If Smith dies, then Neo dies too, and viceversa, so, in the final battle, Neo can not lose, because if he kills smith, he wins, but if smith kills him,smith die too, and he win as well. Neo's objective is to destroy the "irregularity" that Smith represents on The Matrix, that tries to take control over all machines and destroy mankind. Neo/Smith represent the part of mankind that will always shock against the mechanization, is the link between human being and the real world. Yes, Neo dies inevitably after defeat Smith, but if there are still humans inside the matrix, another character with the "essence" of Neo will appear again soon or later.

the whole movie is 2:18:00 min according to IMBD and according to the one i have on my PC when i tried to find that scene at 31:30 as suggested by AN-DY its a whole different thing. Dying in The Matrix???
Neo is the only one who can change the Matrix. The rest of the resistance is aware they are in it and can bend the reality towards their goals but must work within the confines of the Matrix. You fall wrong, get shot, stabbed, etc...you die. Since the rest of the people aware they are in the Matrix, accept it and work around it, it limits their ability to avoid those very constraints that and gives the Matrix the ability to kill them. Neo manipulates the very nature of the matrix so that it cannot kill him, it cannot harm him at all really even though he is just as aware as everyone else what the machine can/cannot do. Most of this was discussed in the graphic novels/comics after the first movie and then completely **** on in the 3rd film. If you find a copy on amazon or a local book store you should peruse some of the older ones. It really was an awesome film until they decided to make more money off of it. It almost always came back to that line "Your mind makes it real"
In the Matrix, what if Neo took both pills?
people forget that morpheus and his gang were not really there with neo. thats precisely the matrix. so had neo taken both pills then he would fall asleep ( back to his old reality ) but would awake to find himself being swallowed ( red pill ) in a transparent hole and thus die of heart attack without the help of morpheus.
