Do You Think There Is A Way To Cure Cancer

Do you think they will ever find a cure for cancer?

Cancer is a collective term for approximately 200 different diseases. Every cell type in your body can (in principle) develop into its own type of cancer. On top of that individual cancer cells in every cancer are also different from one another. On top of that, the cancer cells interact in very complex ways with the surrounding normal cells. So it is not all that surprising that we don't have, and most likely won’t find a single cure for all cancers.

That being said, many cancers are cured on a daily basis. Overall cure rate is approximately 60%, so it is more likely that someone diagnosed with cancer will be cured than not. And outlooks are still improving - all thanks to scientific research.

If you look at childhood cancers only cure rate is close to 80%: http://www.cancerresearchuk.org/cancer-i...

There are many factors contributing to this improvement. Surgical techniques have been improved, and surgery is still the most important treatment of most cancers.

Radiological examination has undergone tremendous improvement over the years. This helps greatly in deciding the appropriate treatment of individual cancers.

Pathology has become highly advanced, ensuring a good basis for treatment planning.

Chemotherapy now comprises more than 100 different therapies.

Biological treatment makes it possible to attack vital functions in cancer cells.

All this will continue to improve, but there will never be a single easy-to-do treatment of all cancers.

EDIT TO ADD:
[I know someone the had melanoma. He didn't get any treatments, he used a natural cure and he was cancer free in 17 weeks. ]

A melanoma is usually diagnosed by removing it and submitting it for examination by a pathologist. So he was actually cancer free in 17 minutes. Of course quacks will say this is BS because if nobody believed them, they would make no money off of cancer.

Why is there still no cure for cancer?

Since 1920 till 2009, over 2,700,000,000,000 (2.7 Trillian dollars) has been spent on finding a cure for cancer, yet being treated for cancer today is really no different than it was in the 1920's. Hundreds of millions of dollars are donated each year, but still no cure?

More people have died from cancer than all the wars since the American Revolutionary War in 1775.

Richard Nixon in 1971, even went as far as signing of the National Cancer Act of 1971 which is described as being a war on the fight of cancer. This was suppose to be a strong effort to find a cure for cancer through research, more effective cancer treatments and targeted drug therapies.

Yet, still today, cancer in still remains a major cause of death exactly 40 years later.

However, we were able to cure or "almost" completely prevent these diseases, which are responsible for killing 100's of millions of people.

Diphtheria, Invasive H. Flu, Chicken Pox, Pertussis, Measles, Malaria, Polio, Typhoid Fever, Tetanus, Smallpox and Yellow Fever.

Cancer is a terrible illness, it affects 1 in every 3 persons who are born in developed countries. That is a terrible statistic.

The American Cancer Society is considered the world's wealthiest nonprofit institution. Though their focus claims to be " " To save lives by helping people stay well, helping people get well, by finding cures, and fighting back. " yet, in 2009, there revenue was $375,268,299

American Cancer Society total assets were $1,573,900,083 ($1.5 BILLION DOLLARS) in 2009.

Still, all this money, all these years and still no cure?

Why???

10 Points to whoever can answer this question that me and so many people want to know.

Do you think there is money in finding the cure for cancer?

No, because firstly prevention is the best way forward, and I’m not talking about a drug, it’s what we put in our mouth, stress, excercise etc, just how we live our lives.Studies have been done on people who died that show most people have cancer in they’re bodies, they didn’t know that they had cancer and they didn’t die of cancer so I think it’s more normal than we think. Some say we can have cancer up to six times in our life without ever knowing we had it. The body can incapsulate it, it can get rid of it when it wants and some cancers are not life threatening, no one ever died from a lump in the breast, it’s only when it spreads to other organs that it’s a problem. Some people live with cancer for 20–30 years, they keep it under control with diet and lifestyle and it doesn’t cause them any issues.Diet, supplements are already controlling cancer and some people are cured with alternative treatments, no money in that for the pharmaceutical industry. Supposedly pharmaceutical companies have found natural cures but they cannot put a patent on anything natural and so far they have failed to copy anything. Interesting reading is Doctored results by Ralph Moss. Why does everyone give to cancer charities? The money goes to pharmaceutical company’s that are the wealthiest most powerful companies in the world. So you give them your money so they can ensure you never get a cure but instead charge huge amounts of money to receive the drugs they produce with the hope it may extend your life or at best get rid of the cancer until it returns because they cannot kill cancer stem cells. During this time your quality of life is effected, you receive life changing surgery, chemo that destroys your immune system (your immune system is what gets rid of cancer) and you get damaging radiation in many forms including Scans, and it is accepted that radiation causes cancer!!!I know people that have been cured naturally. I am living an active life with cancer long after my oncologist expected me to be gone. So, no I don’t think there is money in finding a cure.

Do you think marijuana can really cure cancer?

Unfortunately not. I know that there are a lot of websites that convincingly claim it can, but they are wrong.

This also applies to cannabis. The notion that cannabis (or more precisely THC) comes from experiments on cultured cancer cells in dishes or implanted in mice.

But a cancer in a human is not the same as a cancer cell line in a dish or injected into a mouse. Such experiments are important in selecting a substance that might be developed into a useful anti-cancer drug. But you can't jump directly from results of such experiments to effects in humans. This is explained in further details here: http://anaximperator.wordpress.com/2012/...

There are currently ongoing clinical trials that aim at answering if THC will be useful as part of treatment of some cancers. The fact that anti-cancer capabilities of cannabis is being researched proves that it is not being suppressed. Here is a balanced, honest and up to date review of the results of cannabis research, and the conclusions that can be drawn from it: http://scienceblog.cancerresearchuk.org/...
