Do You Think This Is A Good Microwave

Can you use wood bowls in the microwave?

wood (s) contain moisture and when heated will expand the fibres and cause Tiny steam pockets. potentially destroying the bowl. not really a good idea though you may get away with it a few times.

Is it ok to microwave a wooden bowl?

A microwave oven works by agitating water or fat, or both. The agitation makes things cook. So....

Both of the bowls could still contain moisture in the wood, and that moisture would certainly be affected by the microwaves.
I can foresee the bowls becoming dried and eventually splitting, depending upon the time and power of microwaves. I would, therefore, not do it.

Are Pizza Rolls any good in the microwave?

flip 'em over halfway through they're cooking cycle, then flip 'em over after you get 'em out

What do good cooks think about cooking food in a microwave?

Although I have not tried cooking in a microwave myself, I would not discard it as a cooking tool. I do have some thoughts on why I would be a bit sceptical about using this way of cooking.  1. Sound, looks and smell: I do cook using all senses which means that sound can be an indication of something burning, something boiling etc. Same with looks and smell as they can help you identify burning, but also a good balance between flavors. As I would miss that in a microwave, I may not be able to control the process as good as I'd like.  2. Way a microwave heats food up. As you may have noticed yourself is that cooking in a microwave results in the middle of a dish getting hot while the outside remains cool. This is a total opposite to other means of cooking which usually work outside-in. As some dishes tast best with a juicy inside and a crispy outside, I think a microwave would not be able to get the same result. Think of a medium-rare baked steak....how would you do that if a microwave attacks the inside first?  3. Moist: a microwave is only successful in heating up food when there is moist available. This moist will be heated up and some of this may dissapear. In a regular pot you can control this process by using a lid, however a lid is difficult to be used in a microwave.  The above are some of my thoughts on this cooking style, but perhaps that just never trying doesn't mean that it couldn't be a great way to cook food!

Spilled in Microwave........?

Okay, this might be a stupid question. I spilled about 10 oz of water by accident in my microwave today and it all leaked out through the center piece at the bottom. My boyfriend quickly pulled the plug out. My question is do you think i should wipe it out good and plug it back up or just go buy a new one. Im scared to use it because i have a strange fear of electricity. Thanks for any positive replies. What do you think of making grilled cheese in the microwave?

It's not grilled cheese if you microwave it.I make toasted cheese sandwiches for a quick breakfast that doesn't drip in the car in the way to work, in a toaster oven.Place sliced cheese on two slices of bread.Toast until cheese melts. Assemble sandwich.Place in fold over style plastic bag.If you have the time to plate it and sit to eat it, butter the sides of the bread that don't get cheese first. Foreman grills work well, too.

What do professional chefs think about the use of microwave ovens to cook food?

I love them. As I always say, the difference between a foodie and a real chef is that one of them likes, the other one maligns, the magnetron.Microwaves rock. I can make anything from tasty bread to quick maitre d' butter in them, I can heat water or pre-cook sausages that I just have to crisp up on the grill. I can make desserts and re-heat soups without fear of burning the sediment. And that's not all. The microwave is a nifty, modern, heating mechanism. Like every other way to cook food, it's good for some and not so good for others (no one would suggest making consomme in the oven, for example). What happened somewhere in the 90s was not that microwaves started sucking bad but that they got judged not for what they were but what went into them - ready meals. Which is, if you think about it, about as stupid as judging fridges and freezers just because McDonalds uses them too.A few years back I got a one-star Yelp review that went something like this: "The food was excellent and we loved it last time. This time we had the seat right at the bar and I could look in the kitchen and I saw someone put something in the microwave!!!!!one111eleven!!".What an idiot. Walk into any Michelin starred place or any of the Top 20 S. Pellegrino places and you'll find at least one microwave. When at 9pm my place is hot and we're in the weeds do you really want me to make clarified butter in a pot? How do you think we get these soft and moist and very, very, delicious buns out? Yes, a microwave steamer. Microwaves heat the water that produces steam.Microwaves do things other heating methods can't. And they do some things poorly. Just like the difference between a grill and a griddle, a pan and the oven, or a broiler and a steamer. Don't discount any of them, they all have their place in modern and craft based cooking.
