Are the Ukrainian people fascist as Putin allegedly said?
For a typical Russian, “facsist” is (almost) a generic hate word used against stronger adversaries. In particular, those who are designated as such by the government. Typical Russian does not know the correct meaning of this word and never tried to apply it to himself and to his own leaders, whose actions match the definition very well.Ukraine, as it was already said, has law that bans both nazi and communist symbols. Russians still revere commies, and still love to apply old USSR formula “everybody who is against us(commies) is “fascist” ”By the way, Russian anti-extremist laws are being selectively applied against those who criticize their facsist state, equaling criticism of the government and extremism. One person reposted a photo of a controversial politician(Milonov) wearing extremist slogan, went to jail. Politician did not.Ukrainians worship controversial resistance leader, Stepan Bandera, who fought against both nazis and commies during WW2 and was assassinated by KGB(as many others). For that, Russians, again, consider Ukrainians fascists. How dare they fight against both homicidal tyrants?There are strong paramilitary nationalist groups in Ukraine, following steps of Bandera that form the backbone of resistance against Russian incursions. They are not that extremist, just a bunch of angry dudes who hate Russia for not leaving Ukraine alone. Russian propaganda is churning out one fabrication after another about them. They won’t kill you for speaking Russian, they would have hard time killing most of the country’s population who does.Putin probably did not call Ukrainians fascists himself, but his mouthpieces did so hundreds of times. If you want to listen to some of the most extreme stuff Putin himself would say if he didn’t care about his image, listen to his KGB colleague Zhirinovsky, or watch one of the daily hate programs on Russia 24. And nothing really happens there without Putin’s approval.
Will Ukraine still exist 1 year from today?
Ok, before I get 'jumped' by all the pro Russian's on here, some facts.... 1.) Putin said last week he will not invade the rest of Ukraine but he keeps a field army size (about 180,000) military force 'exercising' along Ukraine's borders, in addition to the 30,000 Russian troops occupying Ukraine Crimea. 2.) Putin continues to say he will 'defend Russian speakers'. 3.) The President of the Russian 'Duma' (parliament) sent a letter to Poland, Romania, Hungary last week inviting them to take over west Ukraine when the Russian's take east Ukraine. Putin said he did not authorize the letter, but he didn't stop it or retract it either. 4.) Today (Sunday) lots of Ukraine young people held a peaceful rally in their own capital of Kiev, waving Ukraine flags calling themselves 'The Sons of Ukraine', mobs of violent Russians who live in Ukraine attacked them. The Russian's on camera said the kids were 'ultra nationalists' and 'fascists' instead of unarmed college kids and they as 'Russian speakers' felt threatened (lol). So, the question is.....will Ukraine exist in March 2015 or will it have been dismembered?
Why does Russia want to invade Ukraine?
i think its abit like the falklands and the brits going to defend their peoples there the russians have a navy bases and alot the people that live in the crimea part are ethnic russian what the opposition did was shady though.. they made an agreement then didnt stick to it.. ive read aswell that they are neo nazis for once i think russia is in the right and usa and opposition ukrainian people are wrong ive heard william hague talking.. and i hope we dont get dragged in.. but its william hague.. and hes a complete dunce.. chances are he'll get us involved
Can anyone explain the russian-ukraine crisis?
in a nutshell can anyone explain the ongoing crisis all i know is that russia wants to invade crimea because of a sea port which will make trade easier.. also what and who are "pro-russian"? and who exactly owns crimea? is it ukriane also do you think war will start? Bonus question, do you think WW3 might happen soon, with the americans fighting against N.korea meanwhile russia fighitng europe?

I have to do a presentation on the Ukraine Genocide of 1928-1933, but everywhere I've looked (online, books, asked people) I can't find out how it ended. I know large numbers of people were killed, but what ended it?

So many people had died--an estimated 10 million--by the time the 1933 harvest came that the high requisition numbers were no longer needed to destroy their population. Russians were brought in to repopulate the area so it would not make sense for them to take all the grain away anymore since it was now going to Russians with the Ukranians wiped out.
