Doctor Office Kicked Me Out

Who here went to a store and got kicked out because they had their small dog in their arms? What store?

****"Love is an american bulldog" ... it's okay. Don't worry. I didn't know either. The Target security guard gave the excuse that people might be allergic, by the way it wasn't a Target that has food, you know the super target. My dog is hypoallergenic but I didn't bother telling him that. I said sorry and left. At Walmart, it also wasn't a super center with food, it was a regular one, the manager didn't give me any excuse. I just said "oh I didn't know., I thought it was okay because I'm holding him in my arms."
But some of you can relax, this is actually an experiment I am doing as part of my research. It's all on tape too. Hee hee.

Can I legally kick my parents out of a doctor's office if I am 18?

Yes, but I think it would cause a lot of unnecessary drama if you don't discuss it with your parents beforehand. At 18 you are legally responsible for all your medical conditions unless you are mentally or physically incapable of making those decisions.  Examples being coma, unresponsive, intoxicated, or brain injury.Meanwhile, an example of you being responsible for your care would be if I showed up in my ambulance and you wanted to be transported but your parents do not want you to, I would follow your wishes and take you.

Doctor office kicked me out?

I fractured my foot and cannot afford to go to the doctors office. what are my options?

You need to tell me more specifics as to the location of the fracture, the type of color, pain (sharp, dull, aching, throbbing, etc). What position was your foot in when it was injured. Is it the metatarsals, toes, top of foot, ankle, Look at the anatomy of the foot here:

You can pause the video.

If you can bear weight on your foot, then see if you can get some crutches from a friend and learn how to use them. If there are not deformities, then 6 to 8 weeks may be the time to heal. Try to keep it immobile, but do not wrap it too tightly or you may cut off the circulation. See if you can wear a rigid sole shoe (one that does not bend when you step on your toes). I will check back here once a day to see if you added more information on your symptoms. Best wishes.

Is it legal for a Dr. to kick you out of a practice?

Yes. The doctor is a service provider, just like any other business. It means that a doctor can ask anyone to leave the premises at any time for any reason. Yes, doctor rules within their practice. If the doctor deems that s/he is unable to provide the patient with the adequate care (either unable or unwilling or if there are some infractions from your side), the doctor can stop providing care and direct the person to another practice/provider in the area is the parting on good terms. Each patient comes with a liability attached, and if the level of tolerance is breached, the doctor can choose not to accept more liability. One example are pregnant women - there are doctor practices who don't accept females once their pregnancy is past a certain week, so there's not even a talk about not providing care; it is based on liability and it is a business (doctor's office).Even if the change of doctor is due to relocation (one time a person came from Australia to NYC area, heavily pregnant, due to husband's job change, only to discover that there are only a couple of practitioners who would accept her as a patient). Some patients are more time-/resource-consuming than others, and it's up to the doctor to decide on who receives which care, and whether $20 copay warrants taking up an hour of staff's time. And there are patients which are plain nuisance - so it's not exactly a liability but a drain. A point comes when a patient is just too much for the money which doctor receives, and between money and sanity, a doctor can choose sanity. You have one doctor, and this doctor has hundreds of patients - once a pain point is reached, there's no turning back. So if a doctor believes that their practice can no longer provide adequate care, the patient is informed and the relationship is severed. The patient can still obtain the file/medical records before transferring to another practice.

Is it common in America to be kicked out of your parents' house once you are over 18?

It’s common enough. It’s typically less common in more “ethnic” communities and to a lesser extent in the newer generation it seems they don’t have plans to do so, but my old manager mentioned when his son hit 18, he’d be out of the house, and a guy I met kicked his oldest son out of the house when he hit 18.It can vary depending on a lot of factors, namely cultural and how close they are. If the child is going to college with a campus within driving distance, it’s less likely, though that also depends if the parents are paying for college(again, culturally more common in some communities, such as well off families or Asian American families) because if you’re paying tuition, why make it more expensive/harder for them? If there’s strong disagreements or fighting, it can be used as a threat.

I am on suboxone and relapsed and was kicked off my program without warning, no chances, just booted?

Find another Dr. to help you RIGHT AWAY. Dont let this side track you. Getting help is the biggest thing and you have already started. Dont stop now. You can do it. As far as why you weren't warned, no idea, maybe just an unorganized office any number of things. Right now, what is important is to take care of yourself.
