Does Anyone Else Feel This Way About Tv Censoring

Does anyone agree that puking on TV should be censored?

On TV, body parts are censored, swearing is 'mostly' censored, and if anyone was going #1 or #2 it would certainly be censored, so why is it alright to show puking on television? Does anyone else hate the fact that it's shown too? Even if it's real or fake, I hate it so much. The sounds and looks of it make me sick to my own stomach, and sometimes I can't get the images out of my head. I do not understand what makes it possible for the act of vomiting to get by censorship. It's basically going to the bathroom out of your mouth, getting rid of waste. Sometimes a show is ruined for me because the vomiting isn't blocked out. I'd much rather take any and every curse word then to see someone bend over and gag. Does anyone feel this way too? D=

How does live censoring on tv work?

I used to work for the BBC. NOTHING is live.

What they can do is say live which means it is filmed in live time, so the camera cuts are at the same point and costume changes are made while other scenes are played out. The maximum time before a show goes to broadcast is about 40-45 minutes, so any terrible problems may be cut out and the show would be stopped on transmission but they have the ability to cut it before a live feed goes out of say somebody collapsing and then possibly... well.

It started in the 1960's. British shows like the Avengers were always FILMED in real time, but not broadcast in audience real time. The mininmum time they would give is for smaller, lesser known shows and it would be the 30 second rule, but by that poit it is too late to go back and re edit, the host just has to get on with it.

Basically if you phoned a guy on a "live" TV feed and he had his phone on, it wouldn't ring at the same time you were ringing. There would be a delay between 30 seconds and 45 minutes (For some live dramas).

So how do Americans feel about their government censoring foreign movies?

It’s true that foreign movies tend to be recut for US theatrical release - sometimes due to patently offensive material, sometimes because of translation and cultural issues, sometimes because foreign audiences like movies to run an hour longer than we do.But this is by distributors and distribution executives who are private sector. Government agents AFAIK never visit, say, Kino Lorber or IFC Films and dictate rules to those companies.Mr. Kovarskiy did provide a great link below outlining the ridiculous censorship laws the US has had in the past, but we’ve come a long way from the Hays Code. Basically these days, you have to do something really horrible in your movie for “the government” (whatever that means) to step in and order re-cuts. Not that some modern horror filmmakers aren’t trying…

Do you think that censoring Alex Jones is wrong?

Yes it is wrong. It does not matter what you think about Alex Jones. That has no importance. What is important is that Facebook is working with Congress on the censorship agenda. Worse yet is that the Atlantic Council is “helping” Facebook weed out the “inauthentic” content pages, as reported by Matt Taibbi.Taibbi: Beware the Slippery Slope of Facebook CensorshipThis is an agenda that the Atlantic Council, a war propaganda outlet, has been trying to conduct for a while now. It was reported last year that the Atlantic Council took the stance that Americans need to be “propagandized for their own good”.Atlantic Council Explains Why We Need To Be Propagandized For Our Own GoodIt is not just Alex Jones that is being censored. Many left-wing outlets (actual progressive outlets) have been censored along with staunch anti-war libertarians.Taibbi: Censorship Does Not End WellIt is clear what is going on. If you actually applaud Facebook and have no problem with them being directed by a highly funded war propaganda think tank, shame on you (that is not directed at you, the OP). The is the nicest way I can put because if you feel this way, then you are the problem. Not the outlets being censored. They are not the problem. It’s your easily molded mind and lack of critical thought which is the antithesis of the characteristics needed for a responsible citizen who supposedly lives in a “democracy”.

How do i know if anime on TV is censored or not?

They censor very rarely in Japan; and instances of censorship are hard to find as well, you could look at Wikipedia or TV trivia sites to check on censorship of course.

What can you see on TV in China? How censored are they?

China has the usual range of TV shows - news, documentaries, dramas, game shows, etc. Most TV programs are made in China. They do not show many foreign TV shows. There used to be more foreign TV shows. In particular Japanese cartoons and Korean drams or soaps. These were very popular. However, the government stopped many of these shows and promoted domestically produced alternatives. For a while, that meant a drop in quality, however, the quality and diversity of domestic TV increased with time without the foreign competition and with added domestic investment. It is difficult to know exactly what has been censored without seeing the original uncut version and the later broadcast version to compare the two. If it was a foreign produced show, then you’d be able to make a comparison, but with a domestically produced show, you only have the one version to go by.Where you can get a glimpse at the censorship is when someone goofs up and broadcasts something they shouldn’t have. Then you can see the redaction or apology after the event. An example of this is was a popular TV series, “The Saga of Wu Zetian”. After the first broadcast, the producers were ordered to recut some scenes so as to display less cleavage. It seems that Tang dynasty attire is too risqué for today’s audience. See Censor’s cleavage cuts in Chinese TV costume drama spark calls for rating system and CNN - 7 things banned by China's TV censors.Another time you might get a glimpse of the rules is when the censorship rules are changed and a show has to stop or change to comply with the new rules. An example of this was a decision a few years back to stop historical shows that involved time travel. So no going back in time to 1939 and fighting the war with laser blasters.A third glimpse at the rules is when the state-run news outlet, Xinhua, publishes a story about them. For example, Xinhua - China to curb vulgar social, entertainment news describes, “avoid putting stars, billionaires or Internet celebrities on pedestals; or sensationalizing private affairs, relationships or family disputes.” That basically means, “no Jerry Springer” style shows. But if you really want to get a good idea about what TV in China is really like, why not just watch it. You can see the national channels at CCTV节目官网_央视网 and some provincial and local level TV channels can be found at China Satellite TV live online free.

Why is China censoring HBO?

Thanks for asking.Censorship actually is a common practice in all societies. Parents all censor the information that their kids are obtaining, and authorities grade movies and even TV languages. What’s unacceptable in a modern day society is the censorship on the information for adults which was a practice common in old days. Therefore, the government, if it’s censoring information for adults, must behave with a way of thinking of old days. So, does the Chinese government. So, the question is: What is the way of thinking of old days? Typically, the authority keeps thinking that they are the minds who know better and have the responsibility to guard their “kids”—-the public. And, of course, they don’t like to be challenged by their “kids” because the challenges in their view are nothing but troubles, only creating more chaos. With that kind of thinking, the censors tend to pick on things they feel, not necessarily think with rationale, dangerous and/or offensive. For instance, if you visit a good sized book store in any Chinese city with a large population, you will find hundreds of books of the works by the great human minds, most of them from the West. These are the works on liberty, government, rule-of-law, criticism of communism, market economy, criticism of dictatorship, etc. These are the real threat to the Chinese system. Why are these works not censored? Because not many people are interested in reading or talking about them, including the censors themselves. So the censors don’t feel they are dangerous and need to be censored. In short, my answer to the question is: Because China is a traditional society still on its way of transient to modernity.

Why did they censor out "jesus christ" in The Matrix?

Because the Censors at TBS didn't like it. If the same movie was on another network they might leave that in but change something else that TBS left alone.

Some strong Christians might be offended by hearing a name Sacred to them used in this fashion, so the network changed it to something less offensive. Had they left it the way it was in the original film, they would have gotten countless letters protesting it as an abomination.

Also, if people are offended by a network's content they boycott the companies who advertise there, and therefore the advertisers stop doing business with that network

no advertisers = no money = no network. It's basic survival, really... appease the masses.

Luckily, the scene still makes sense with this change... It's just one of those things that make you scratch your head. I have seen censors on other networks (FX and Bravo are two examples off the top of my head) where they censored scenes in such a way that the scene didn't even make sense any more.

Why doesnt TV censor naked people in third world countries?

Maybe coz they don't appeal 2 the senses.
They r not sexy, just yuckky.
