Does Anyone Feed First Mate Food

Great Canadian Dog Food?

I recently bought a bichon frise though a pet seller who got it from a breeder. She gave me a bag of dog food from Great Canadian Dog Food which I think my puppy had been eating. I am converting my dog to Blue Buffalo as recommended by a friend but recent recalls make me wonder if I should switch back to Great Canadian Dog Food.

Great Canadian Dog Food ingredients include non GMO corn, pork and poutry meals, wheat shorts, wheat middings, corn gluten meal,...

I heard that corn and wheat are bad for dogs. But the company's website (http://thegreatcanadiandogfood.ca/faq.ph... says it's just a marketing scheme used by pet food companies and that they have specially cooked the corn so that it is digestable.

Who should I trust? The company's statement (and the breeder, I assume he is using this brand for the dogs too), or the generally-accepted knowledge?

What does it mean when someone feeds you? Like offers you food and then feeds it to you?

oh come on

My chi will not eat any kind of dog food, she will only eat liverwurst, is this ok?

The reason she's overweight is because you're feeding her a horrible diet. Liverworst and chicken jerky treats do not make a good diet. You need to choose a healthy kibble for her. Something with as little grain as possible. Then you need to feed her the right about, about a 1/4 or 1/3 cup a meal, and put it in her bowl. Put the bowl on the ground for 20 minutes. If she doesn't eat then take it away. She will learn to eat what you're giving her. Once you have her on this healthy diet you need to work more on exercise for her to lose weight. I am a professional trainer and behaviorist; this is what I advise all my clients with overweight dogs to do.

What do the police feed their k9 dogs?

Before you get into brands of food, you need to teach your dog to eat. By changing the food every time she stopped eating it, you have encouraged her to become picky. Think of it in human terms. If a child refuses to eat his vegetables, what does the parent do? They send the kid to bed without supper. They do not take the veggies away and replace it with something better. Dogs are like small children. If they think something better is on it's way, they will hold out until they get it!

First, have two scheduled meal times. Put the food down for 15 minutes. If the dog doesn't eat it, take the food away and do not give any other food, including treats, until the next scheduled meal time. Repeat until the dog is eating. Your dog may choose to go hungry for a few days, but will not starve herself. In a few days your dog will be eating what you give her.

So what to give her? Raw is a great choice, there are also several good kibble diets out there to. If you choose to do kibble, look into Orijen or Natures Logic. I love Honest Kitchen too, although it is dehydrated, not a dry kibble. Fromm, Precise, Native, and Go Natural are good choices. Avoid the grocery store foods. I try and avoid the big box foods like Wellness, Blue, and Innova, but if your dog does well on them, they are fine as well.

The cops I know all feed different things, as each dog is an individual. Feed your dog based on her specific needs.

Why do hummingbirds chase each other at the feeder instead of using it at the same time?

As far as birds go, hummingbirds are among the most territorial of all. They have been known to claim an entire flowerbed as their own, and even lay claim to three or more feeders, flying from one to another over and over again to chase away any who dare enter “their” territory. They have been known to defend an area up to a quarter acre in size. This is just a natural characteristic of hummingbirds.Male hummingbirds are very territorial for several reasons. The male is trying to defend his feeding territory. The male hummingbird does not want his territory to overlap with other male hummingbirds. A male hummingbird will defend his territory aggressively by doing a high speed bluffing charge attack or he will engage the rival in a physical battle, often “spearing” his competition with his beak.Another reason a male hummingbird is so fiercely protective of his territory is due to the desire to attract a mate. Before a female hummingbird agrees to mate with the male she is not allow in the territory and will be driven away from there. Once the female agrees to mate, she is given a”free pass” into the territory. This is extremely important to the female hummingbird because when she is sitting on her eggs or chicks she needs easy access to a nearby food source so she is not gone for too long or the offspring may die.All you can do is hang enough feeders, preferably each out of direct line of sight of the others… around the corner of your house or behind a bush. A male hummingbird is the Mighty Mouse of the avian world. On the other hand, this characteristic is very much dependent on the personality of each individual bird… the extent of its “alpha-ness”. Many feeders are shared by multiple males. Also, if a particular feeder is visited by a huge number of birds, even the most alpha of males may eventually be overwhelmed in trying to defend, and will eventually realize the futility of his efforts.

Can my lovebird eat cockatiel food? also, how can i stop my bird from being aggressive?

First of all, it is a complete misconception that Lovebirds need a mate. Lovebirds are like any other parrot, and are fine either way. They will bond with a person or human, you just need to make sure you have enough time to interact with your bird daily! Usually aggressive or nippy Lovebirds are female, but you can always have a more aggressive male. If your Lovebird is already tame, you should be using a squirt bottle for discipline. We he goes to bite or nip at you, simply squirt him once in the chest with a firm "No". Within a few squirts, he will realize that the behavior is not tolerated and will stop. If your Lovebird isn't tame, you need to spend lots of time slowly gaining his trust. Have your hands in the cage daily, even if your just changing food, water, and moving around toys. You can also offer the bird Millet, or another tasty treat! At first offer it on a long stem, and slowly move down to where you have a small piece in your hand. Slowly but surely the bird will come around.

As far as the food goes, you should have your bird on a mixed diet. You'll want to free feed seed and pellet. The pellet and seed are typically only specific as to what size Parrot, otherwise any Parrot food for smaller Parrots is acceptable. On top of this, you should be offering fresh fruits and veggie daily! An all around diet is important on keeping a healthy bird.

Good Luck!
