Does eBay do anything to confirm the accuracy of buyer/seller reviews?
eBay has actually helped me A LOT in the past with my buyer reviews. I strive to be a great/honest seller on eBay and try to make my customers happy and coming back but sometimes things just go bad for one reason or another. I've got 4 bad reviews on eBay so far but I have always tried to fix the problem and remedy the situation and eBay actually recognizes this. eBay will help you out if you're doing everything you can to "right your wrongs" (so to speak) and right when I've thought there's nothing can do, I'll get an email out of the blue from eBay that says "This is what we've done to protect your account". eBay has literally deleted 3 out of 4 my negative reviews because they ultimately decide if the bad review is unfair due to the circumstances and I've been very greatful that they've done this for me without even having to ask. If you think one of your bad reviews is unfair I would definitely recommend just giving them a call!
Can open an eBay store increase the visiblity of my listings to buyers?
Yes and No… Let me explain.I’ve become a Powerseller and Top Rated seller and I’ve had my own eBay store multiple times.I can tell you from personal experience that for the most part eBay doesn’t give an advantage (in the rankings of items) to people that have their own eBay stores.So in that sense, no. But…With a eBay store you’re able to list more items on eBay than you’re average eBay seller. Yes, absolutely.As Scott points out, you will definitely increase your sales by posting to multiple sites and increasing your exposure. Some sites, like eBay, encourage posting the same item across multiple categories. Others do not.But, and it's a big "but", you really need to tightly manage inventory to prevent buyers from attempting to purchase items that are out of stock. Either you need to quickly pull down listings when you've sold out or you need to develop supply channels that let you quickly replenish inventory to handle sales.
