Does Anyone Know How To Remove The Dashboard From Honda Civic 2013

What does the red "SRS" light mean on the Honda Accord?

SRS means supplemental restraint system which refers to all the components related to your air bags, as in; impact sensors, SRS modulator, Inflation unit and the wiring.Whenever you turn on the ignition, the SRS light will come on for six seconds. It performs self diagnosis test during this while. It will go off after six seconds. If there is no problem in the system it will not come on again. But If any problem exists in the system it will come on again after 2 seconds. If it comes on, it is recommended that you take your vehicle to the nearest Honda service station. But if you want to compromise with the safety there is a way of resetting the light. You can get the directions of doing it here. How to Reset SRS Light on a Honda Accord Civic or Prelude

Why does red light light up on the dashboard of some cars even when the car is off?

Well you have to be more specific about which red light you're referring to. If it is a flashing red light with about a two second or five second interval that's just a security light showing at the factory security system is on or armed. If it's a steady red light it could be a door or trunk or hood is ajar. There usually are no dash lights on other than those type of things when a car is turned off and parked. Unless the key is on, in general, indicator lights and everything are all shut down. If it is indicating a door or trunk or Hood you may just have a faulty jamb switch that is telling the car that there's a door open when it may not actually be. Other than that in normal circumstances there are no other lights for factory parts or dashes. If it's an after-market light that's on or something at the lower part of the dash that's a different story. Again after market items are a different ball game like Chargers or power centers or Outlets. I hope that helps

What is the function of anti-theft in a Honda Civic and do I turn it off?

The anti-theft is collectively referred to bunch of security features which include things likeEngine immobilizerRFID keysSince 2003 Honda has included a chip in Key fob and an equivalent chip in the car. The encoded signal from Key fob has to be “readable” by the chip in the car. This is like me telling you “code world is WATER”. ONLY you will know what that means and only YOU will know what actions to carry if I told you the code WATER or ICE or FIRE.In our case, the car, if it understands the code sent by RFID chip in key fob, will carry out an action of “letting the engine start”. If I just physically duplicated your key and the key doesn’t have the RFID chip signal that matches original key, your engine will be “immobilized”. That’s just fancy of “your engine wont start”.This way it prevents car theft. Most cars that are stolen where the thief just “rode off” are because the keys are left in the car by driver by mistake. That is another reason why “key-less ignition” enhances the security. You no longer need to remove the key from your pocket/purse and therefore the chances of you leaving the key in car reduces drastically (unless you left your whole jean or the purse in the car itself.. lol). Can you turn this off? I don’t think so. There might not be a “button” or key movement combination that you can use to turn this off. You see, the car does not know that “you” are a thief or the owner. It doesn’t have brains. So if anything, at least you need a dealership to access that part of car’s firmware code which makes the car realized that an “authorized person” is trying to disable this. Now if you are talking about “slicing some wires and ripping anti theft system out of vehicle” kind of “turn-off”, I don’t really see what would one want to do that :)

What is the SRS light on the Honda Civic?

The SRS warning stands for Supplemental Restraint System. It supplements the primary restraint system, the seatbelts. This warning light will kick on when the computer does its system check and finds a fault somewhere in the SRS system. This light indicates that a fault has been detected and the airbags may not deploy or deploy properly in an accident. The causes could be something simple to complete failure of the airbag system. It could be simply from putting your cell phone in the passenger seat. On some older models with the first few generations of passenger detection system, the signals from the cell phone would interfere with the sensors in the seat and trip an SRS warning. On other older models, the clock spring in the steering wheel could fail and trip an SRS warning. There may be a recall for this, contact a local Honda dealer and have them check your VIN for recalls. On even older models, I have seen the seatbelt buckles cause an SRS light as well. The system uses a sensor in the buckle to tell if the seatbelt is buckled. Finally it could be a failure of the some system components, the airbag itself, the firing mechanisms, or any of the other sensors. If the light goes off on its own, the system has determined that the issue is no longer happening and extinguished the light. The code may still be stored, so if you want to explore further, you may be able do so.Bottom line is this, the SRS is an important safety system and if the light stays on, then a trip to the dealer is needed to diagnose and repair the issue. This is not a light to be ignored.

What does the message "B 14" mean on my 2006 Honda Accord?

Honda maintenance codes go like this.

Maintenance Codes:

A - Replace just engine oil
B - Replace engine oil & filter

1. Rotate tires & check air pressure
2. Replace air cleaner element, check drive belt and replace dust & pollen filter
3. Replace Transmission fluid & transfer fluid (if equipped)
4. Replace spark plugs, timing belt, inspect water pump, valve adjustment
5. Replace engine coolant
6. Replace rear differential fluid

It's actually B 1, 4 as if you were reading it off a piece of paper with commas.

If you really want to get trick, next time go to the AutoZone and ask them for their "hand held code reader " say you want to check your codes. One of the clerks will go out to your car and plug it in and then you'll know for free as much as a mechanic who'd have charged you $50.

The code reader will also clear your codes and shut off the yellow light.

(^_^) good luck!

How costly is maintaining a Honda Civic in India based on its spare parts' costs?

P.S.: For this question, you can directly jump to “Maintenance” part at the end.Well, no doubt it's a dream Sedan for most of the Men in India. It's design & look attracts the most. As it was a dream Car for me as well, I bought 2nd hand Honda Civic 2 years back. I've had a great experience driving this beauty.About the Car:(Car Variant: 1.8S MT)Well, it has 1.8 Liter powerful engine, & you can feel the power while driving. This Car gives a feel of racing car when you give it a full throttle! Also an amazing digital speedometer just below windshield adds to the racing car view.Dashboard of Honda Civic is classic view, & believe me, its the best in class. It does gives a feel of very luxurious car.Ground clearance is low & little bit problematic on rough Indian roads & barriers.(Probably this was one of the major reasons to discontinue this car in India)Because of its powerful engine, its mileage is very low.It gives around 9 kmpl in City & around 11-12 kmpl on Highway. That's the reason I've installed CNG kit in my Civic. I have sequential CNG kit of Tartarini brand installed, which gives me an average of around 15-16 km/kg in City. Power is little bit reduced while running on CNG but benefits are good.Maintenance:Since it is a Luxury car segment, its maintenance is little high. Additionally, as the car is discontinued in India, it gets little difficult to get its parts.. Also, if any part breaks down, Honda service center does not repair parts, they directly suggest to replace the parts which are very very expensive. And the new spare parts cost is very very high at the Honda service centers.Just for example, Power Steering Oil Pump costs around 40k, Water Pump costs around 15k, Clutch Master Cylinder costs around 12k, etc. So if any part breaks down, it will burn your pocket.

How do you reset the check engine light on a Honda Accord?

Turn the ignition key to the power accessory  position. This will illuminate all the lights on the instrument panel  without the engine running. Continue to hold down the select/reset button until the maintenance required light goes out. On some year models, the light may blink once before going out.
