Does playing Sid Meier’s Civilization make you atheist?

Micheal Cote, the first answer hits it on the head.I mean, your own personal views can be affected by games, but its up to you for what you believe in. For example, I’m a Christian. When I bought and played Civ 5 back in 2014, I was a Christian.When I played my first Civ game in 2007, Civ III, I was still Christian.I still am. In 2018.Granted, some of my views regarding my beliefs either shifted or were altered slightly, but overall I wasn’t made an atheist by Civ. Although, I do got to admit, using the Catholic (because I’m a Protestant Baptist, go figure) default and renaming it “Trumpism” or “Anime-ism” did make me question whether or not I’ve gone to far. But that’s purely questioning my humor.To note: I have nothing against Catholics, if anyone knows anything about the history between Catholics and Protestant in general, then you’d understand my jab at them.

I’m a fan of Sid Meier’s Pirates! Are there any other pirate games for a PC that hold up to the original? I would especially like to play against friends in other locations.

Windward is a game on steam taking the ship system from Sid Meir’s Pirates and using it in a multiplayer format. It has servers to play with others and factions, towns, and missions. It's a pretty fun game and it is very cheap on Steam.

What advice would you give to new players of Sid Meier's Civilization VI?

Some basic tips:Diplomacy. Don’t appease everyone. Civilization’s will like or hate you depending on what you do. Large or small navy or army? Someone’s going to hate or like you. There’s also factors like resources and religion that can affect relations.Also Cassus Belli. Learn that if you need to wage war. It’s no longer just a click of a button.The more you play the game, eventually like any other game with victories, you’ll have to turn on your friends in the end. When in a single player game, it’s generally a rule that you’ll betray your closet ally/allies after reaching a certain level of comfortable power. On multiplayer, it’s your judgement.AI. It’s still wonky…to a certain extent. A common trope in Civ games more or less. Any advantages you find, abuse it or at least be aware of it. They can either hamper or help you experience.The AI Civilization have set preferences that they require in order to maintain a healthy diplomatic relationship. Unlike some previous installments.The Play Style. It’s actually more forgiving if you play tall or wide. There are things that support both play styles and even a mixture of sorts. Experiment. It’s kind of a refreshing mechanic for any strategy game not to be simply tied down to one play style, even during game play.Religion. Unlike the previous installment, Civ V, Civ VI actually has a victory condition for this one. Take advantage of it and aim to establish your own, even if you don’t want to a Religious Victory. Having your own religion helps deter other players, AI or Human, from winning the game through spiritual unity.Victories. A LOT different options. Pick one primary and one secondary in case the first one backfires. It can happen if you are aiming for a victory that two or more Civilizations are wanting.
