Does anyone play World of Warcraft Legion on a laptop?

I m juggling between getting a desktop or laptop for college/playing World of Warcraft. I need it to be reliable for the foreseeable future (4 years) and play WoW at high fps on high(ish) settings. Building a desktop isn t an option for me since that will probably be the first thing anyone recommends. The desktop and laptop I m looking at are around the $2000 price point. Only difference being I ll have to buy a monitor, desk, chair etc. to go with the desktop so ultimately the desktop will cost me more. Specs are as follows

Desktop : i7-7700K @ 4.0 GHZ
All in one liquid cooling solution with 850w power supply
GTX 1070
256 gb ssd 2 tb hdd
16 gb ram
Laptop : i7-7700hq @ 2.9 GHZ
GTX 1060 or 1070
256 go ssd and 1 tb hdd
16 gb ram

All I want is a smooth experience with WoW and a reliable computer for the next 4 years for school. I know WoW is cpu intensive so the laptop processors may just not be enough. But the laptop would altogether ( in my particular situation) come out cheaper. I have a dell gift card so it will either be an Alienware desktop or laptop. I would get either as I don't have a preference.

Is there anyone out there who could be my World of Warcraft mentor and help me become a better player?

Just watch YouTube and learn, the game isn't hard, especially in its current state.I've seen dpsers in high levels of gear doing lesser damage than people with lower levels. But yes it will be fun to have someone to play with.Or join a guild, there are plenty of social guilds that will be willing to quest or do dungeons with you. Just don't join a raid guild, they are only interested in doing high levels content, and to be honest, they will usually only wanna do those contents with those who are already good. I'm personally not great, but I get by as a dpser, as a heal I'm average, and as a tank I suck, wo I tend to play DPS more than healing.

Has anyone been playing world of warcraft since the beginning and what has been the impact on them?

No, I’ve been playing since 2010.Here’s a summary about the conditions that you should avoid playing this game.-Don’t start because you feel lonely. Get friends that won’t make you feel lonely.-Don’t start because you’ve been dumped by your love of your life. Find a new person.-Don’t start because something traumatic happened to you, seek help before starting this game.Don’t substitute this game for anything you lack or lost. You’ll get addicted that way, and that will hurt your future severely.Get the best mindset you can get, get better, be indestructible against the things you’ve experienced. After that, nothing that makes you feel better will be an addictive thing for you. And trust me, for someone who’s weakened by life, this game will be ultimately addictive. Because of there’s always something to do here, and there’s a virtual world with virtual social aspect, in a weakened state, you’ll have the urge to substitute this game over your life. But if you’re a well-adjusted person with a financially good condition, and want to blow off some steam in a regular manner with video games in your free time, this game is great. If you’re poor/have no money, don’t play this game. Get your life sorted first. It’ll be almost same as trying to drink/smoke as a poor person. These are my two cents. As a free person, you have every right to do what you want. You asked the impacts, some are mine, some are from my close environment. It doesn’t matter which is whose. And as you see, you don’t have to play the game for 14 years.Regular fun-addictive behaviour while you have stuff to fix in your life and neglecting them for the sake of the fun is gonna be the real harm/impact.Not this game, particularly.

I want to start playing World of Warcraft. How can I start?

Your pc should be able to handle WoW, although you may struggle in the larger multiplayer content. Lots of games have good graphics - WoW having it's own unique style - but regardless of that you will struggle to run high graphics on games with your current pc.World of Warcraft is a MMORPG - standing for massively multiplayer online role-playing game. You create a character and progress through the story with it, choosing your characters race and way they fight, magic they use, etc. Currently the game has 100 levels, although this will soon raise to 110 with the expansion expected early next year. While most of the games content is derived from being maximum level, you can try it for free and see if you enjoy the premise here: Play World of Warcraft online for free If you enjoy the game you can buy the 'base' game, which include the past 4~ expansions (they regularly fold old expansions in so you don't have to buy them all), and once you have done that stuff you can buy the latest expansion - Warlords of Draenor. Next year Legion will release. You can't play world of warcraft offline legitimately. The game is designed around player interaction and being in an open world with others.

How old should you be to play World of Warcraft?

You ask two questions which follow quite separate tangents. How old should a person be to play WoW? Lets break that down, how old should a person be to play any virtual game, MMORPG or otherwise. Or even a real game? The truth is you are never too old to play games. Its the other way round: when you stop playing games, you turn old. Games are one of the most relaxing and health-friendly forms of leisure, and hence there is no upper age limit. But, for a pre-teen, its my personal opinion that the game is terribly addictive to the point where it may adversely affect his growth socially and academically. Its probably too far a stretch, but there's quite a high chance that the end-product of being a slave to Warcraft gaming ends up looking like this:Being an avid fan of WoW, I appreciate the game and enjoy it immensely, but I feel my childhood was richer for having played games like Legend of Zelda, Pokemon and many others. Discovering World of Warcraft was an experience well suited to the lazy summers of my teenage years. My final advice? If your child is curious about WoW, don't deny him the fun. But otherwise, let him enjoy some fine vanilla games of yesteryear. There is a time and place for high DPS, but YOU ARE NOT PREPARED.

Can you play World of Warcraft with someone on Mac if your on PC.?

Oh yeah. My best friend is a Mac snob and i have a PC and we play together all the time. You just have to start the account and then use the disks to download the game onto both of the computers. You will have the game on both computers but one account that can be played from both. Unfortunately you both cannot play at the same time if there is only one account.

How can I get my girlfriend to play World of Warcraft?

Here are some arguments I've tried in the past:It offers a higher entertainment-per-dollar ratio than {going to the movies/drinking with your friends/skydiving/shopping}.It offers a higher social-per-time ratio (assuming you are in a decent social guild that makes use of ventrilo) than {going to the movies/drinking with your friends/skydiving/shopping}.Look at the cute pets you can collect! (http://warcraftpets.com/ http://us.blizzard.com/store/det...)You like Plants vs. Zombies right? WoW has that too ( - also, you get a virtual pet singing sunflower when you finish the quest line).Bad day at work? Get your daily dose of mood moderation and dopamine. There's a lot of lore that you can interact with, just like history/mythology/Tolkien/Twilight (and probably just as relevant to everyday life). There's a wide variety of activities: exploring many beautiful and varied environments, completing some fairly sophisticated quests, coordinating teams of 25 people to take down big scary bosses using complex strategies, running capture the flag against other players, forming teams of players to fight other teams of players, completing seasons activities that correspond to the real calendar.Come play with my real life friends (only works if you have real life friends who play WoW).These cute, well-drawn comics will actually make sense (http://daily-quests.com/comic/?p...).In the end, none of these worked for me. I suspect that my logic was not the problem, however, but rather her annoyance that I had so much fun playing the game over other activities. YMMV, obviously.
