What would you do if you ran into Barack Obama?

President Obama came to Upstate New York. Various organizations had opinions about where he should visit. I arrived at the Auburn YMCA for my morning workout to see Secret Service all around plus people watching. I had thought he was going to visit the next door Seward mansion/museum, so I had brought my camera. But he was in the Y working out, we were told because he didn’t want to kick out the people who would be using the workout room at his motel. Because I taught a class at the Y and always worked out in the same room before it started, they let me go into the room where he was running on the treadmill. I asked the Secret Service man there if he would be more comfortable if I gave him my camera and he said he would. After about 20 minutes, there was great commotion - he was leaving. I panicked about my camera and as we applauded him on his way out, I was looking for the man with my camera. But Bill, our chief of custodians, had been given it. He also said there were pictures on it. We checked on one of the secretary’s computers, and sure enough, there was the President with a whole bunch of kids in the gym shooting baskets, and then one of him surrounded by the kids, posed for a group shot. So our president made sure he met with the people who really count — kids, and I am told that he repeated the basketball games as he went through the small towns of Upstate NY. I suggested to the Director that he mail the picture to theWhite House and ask for a signature (which I had done when I met President Clinton and gave him my granddaughter to hold — but that’s another story). So the Auburn YMCA now has a framed picture of President Obama with a bunch of kids AND the $5 bill that he used to pay for his guest pass to the YMCA— YES, Barack Obama insisted on paying his own way. I think the choices he made and continued to make shows the character of the man.

Is there any truth to the NRA's allegation that “Barack Hussein Obama and European leaders are plotting the confiscation of Americans' guns”?

I don't think this is the right question ask. It should be 'are their groups of people who want to take your guns away'?First off the probability of you getting killed by a gun is near zero. Its just media and politics that makes people think it's a big issue. Half of 'gun violence' are suicides. There were 13k KILLINGS (not murders) in 2015, out of just under 400million people, that is 1 in 30,769. You should also take into consideration that the majority of murders are directly or indirectly related to the drug trade and gangs on gangs; and really, who cares about them. The statistics are undeniable. To that question the answer is LOUD YES. Here is the evidence... 1. It has already happened before. During hurricane Katrina the New Orleans police and military went door to door confiscating weapons. Katrina GUN CONFISCATION and Witness Reports of RAPE 2. Chicago, Washing, New York have had a full out gun ban for 40 years. Chicago Gun Ban Ruled Unconstitutional By Federal Judge 3. There was a ban on 'Assault' riffle purchase ban from the 80's - 90's. Here is a bill in 2015 trying to reinstate the ban Text - H.R.4269 - 114th Congress (2015-2016): Assault Weapons Ban of 2015 . The4. There is a currently a ban on full auto's. exception is made if you have a class 3 weapons permit.5. The current tactic of liberals is to ban features of guns. For example, assault riffles in CA must have a bullet button, 10 bullet clip max. The list of banned 'features' keeps on growing slowly.6. Another tactic of liberals is to create registry lists. This only reason why this is being done is to keep track of who has guns.7. The final tactic is to limit ammo, outlaw certain kinds of ammo. Again, the kind of ammo used doesn't matter when it is a head shot. lol.8. In the 20th century, 100 million people were murdered by their OWN government. In almost all the cases, a gun ban and confiscation was successfully implemented beforehand. Now the stats...

Why does Trump wear such poorly fitting suits? Who was Obama’s tailor?

Let’s answer the question and not create a political firestorm over a suit. President Trump has and does wear Brioni for many years. Brioni is known as probably the greatest and one of the most continually expensive suits made in Italy, specifically in Rome. The original name of Brioni was “Brioni Roman Style” back in the 1970s when my grandfather sold the brand in his men’s clothing stores in New York City. With that said, Brioni was the tailor of choice for James Bond films for years. It still and was always known as a $5,000 suit, off the rack, although they can start as low as $3,850. This all depends on fabric. The make of each Brioni is the same, by hand or handmade. Trump is a big man, he must be wearing a 60L Italian size, most likely from what I see on TV. In regards to the fitting of his suits: 60L is a big size. It equates to a 50L US size so the waist on the pants could be a 44–46 waist. He always wears his jacket open creating a larger appearance. Even though fashion at the moment in menswear is all about slim and trim, that does not suit every body shape. Men in the age bracket of President Trump want to be comfortable in a suit all day. They don’t want a tight fit and I would think most Brioni clients that can pay $5,000 or more for a suit are older guys who don’t really care about the fashion of the moment, but want to be tailored and well-fitted, but do not want to look as if they squeezed themselves in someone else’s suit. Could his suits fit a bit better, possibly. Is he wearing a very well-made suit by any standards, absolutely. In regards to Obama: As far as I know he wears Canali and Hickey Freeman. Canali is probably the best fitting men’s suit in the suit market in it’s price range and many brands try to strive for their fit. Canali suits usually start about $1895 so much lower cost than Brioni, but it is not all sewn by hand, but hand finished. Hickey Freeman is known one of the best American made suits along with Oxford. I have only read that Obama enjoys these brands.

Why are Democrats wearing red ties whereas Republicans are wearing blue?

The assignment of blue to Democrats and red to Republicans is entirely arbitrary. Prior to 2000, it varied from election to election and even from media source to media source. In one year on one station, blue was “undecided” and Democrats were yellow. (For more, see Kelly Kinkade's answer to Why are Democrats called blue and Republicans red? What is the origin of calling Democratic states blue and Republican states red?) The only reason this has become such a solid convention is probably because the campaign coverage of the 2000 election was so immersive. It should also be noted that both party logos are red, white, and blue: both parties use stylized form, rendered with red below and blue with white stars above, of the animals that were assigned to them by American humorist Thomas Nast; in both cases, the animal assignments were intended as insults, but both parties eventually took them to heart and made them their own.Wardrobe choices by politicians are not made, and almost never influenced, by this arbitrary color coding. Rather, candidates (and their campaigns) make wardrobe choices based on the image the candidate wants to project, by what they think will look good on the candidate, and the candidate’s personal preferences. Red is, in general, an aggressive, loud, active color, while blue tends to be a calming color, and is associated with stability. Those of us who remember Bill Clinton will remember his penchant for paler colored ties, notably powder blue and occasionally even pink. This is because Bill Clinton has an unusually ruddy face, which makes for an unfortunate combination when he wears “winter” ties (really anything in a jewel-tone). His campaign, after a few unflattering press comments, recognized this and banned him from wearing such ties, at least during the campaign.Unfortunately, they’ve let this rule go, apparently:Notice how the orange tie really draws out the pink in his face. (The orange tie, in this case, is a pander to Clemson University.) Most white men should not wear orange, and Bill Clinton is no exception.Bill wasn’t the only one to wear pink; George H. W. Bush wore a pink (well, pinkish, more of a berry to my eye) tie to one of the debates in 1992.Campaigns often do agonize over wardrobe issues, but you can be absolutely certain that the superficial assignment of “red = Republican, blue = Democrat” plays almost no role in those discussions.
