Does Being Liberal Mean Never Having To Say You

What does liberal and Conservative mean?

Assuming that you mean politically, here's my take, and I know this has change from how the sides used to be:

liberal: progressive in introducing legislation to fix issues/problems, bigger government/more involvement, federal rights, higher taxes on rich to support the needs of the poor

conservative: more status quo, states rights, less government involvement ("laissez-faire") especially federal, lower taxes for people to use their money to fix their own problems

I'm usually a left-leaning moderate, so I generally have likes/dislikes about both sides. Hope that helps.

What do conservatives mean when they say “liberal elite?”

Charles Murray is an economist and political scientist, who is hated and feared by the liberal elite. So hated and feared, they encourage violent demonstrations to prevent people from hearing him speak.Think about that for three full seconds. In his book Coming Apart, Murray notes that rich ultra-liberals tend to live in bubbles: Zip-codes filled with other rich ultra-liberals. They almost never hear political counterpoint at home, nor do they have their beliefs challenged very often - if at all.Sometimes this “in the bubble” thinking manifests in loud and obnoxious outbursts from their pampered adult children who’ve never listened to a non-liberal view in their entire lives. See the left-wing violence on campus at Berkley, Portland and the general War on campus. These ultra-rich ultra-liberal zip-code bubbles, are surrounded by rings of zip-codes filled with slightly less liberal folks. Rinse, Repeat… ‘till at last you find a few conservatives.Continue from there to fly-over country where most folks are at least fiscally conservative. There you’ll hear completely different ideas. Most years, inside-the-bubble-people never go there. These ultra-liberal-elite bubbles exist in the rich parts of most cities. They are extra concentrated in the media centers of Washington DC, NYC, Boston, San Francisco, and LA.Liberal-elites spend all their lives inside their bubbles. They are not aware of folks in fly-over country, or what they are thinking. This explains how the Blue-Team missed understanding how much they’d pissed-off people outside their tiny bubbles. This explains the election of DJT and the loss of over 1,000 seats in Federal and State legislatures. The surprise election of DJT gave the liberal-elite a choice of hunkering down inside of their bubbles — or venturing out and listening to not-in-the-bubble thinkers. They have mostly chosen the former. So sad.Agree with me or not, it’s still a free country — for now.If I’m right: We’ll see significant gains by the Red-Team at the State and Federal level in the 2018 elections.

Why do people say Liberals are "morally bankrupt?"?

Jenn, here's no reason to be snotty, I am just talking here.

The xmas thing is not the majority Liberal POV. We don't care if there are manger scenes on Town Hall lawns. Anyone that complains about that is stupid. SO we agree on that.

Questioning the administration, if you feel it is wrong, is patriotic. I don't approve of the Hilter comparison but I am sure you don't approve of Fred Phelps and his idiot signs either. SOme people go too far. SO we agree on that.

Good, then you are not a selfish republican using the earth and ruining it. For me to say that all Repubs don't care about the environment is the same as you thinking we all hold Hitler signs. SO we agree.

I compare the Suffragettes to Liberals because that's exactly what progressive people do. They march and protest for rights.

Republican means Republic? Liberal means Liberty.

All Libs are not welfare cases and all Cons are not bigoted jerks. Right?

Are Conservatives more tolerant than Liberals?

Liberals think they're more tolerant because they tolerate a number of high-profile things that conservatives don't tolerate, such as homosexuality, prostitution, abortion, and marajuana (your list of tolerences may vary, of course. You may not tolerate pot, while some conservatives may have no problem with homosexuals. This is just a starting point for the purposes of my answer here).

There are things and people that liberals can't (or won't) tolerate that conservatives tolerate just fine. Religious people, for example. Many liberals just plain HATE people who believe in God. Worse, they can't stand the idea that people who believe in God would like to see God's influence in government and schools.

Many liberals have a low tolerence for shows of patriotism and anything to do with the military. Liberals tend to look down on patriots. I've heard some describe anyone who loves the USA as mindless sheep who don't really know what's going on. I'm not saying liberals hate the USA (although you must admit some do), but your average liberal isn't out there waving flags, and I don't know any who get choked up over the national anthem. Many liberals think we'd have universal peace if we'd just disband the military and throw away our nukes.

Liberals won't tolerate a successful business. Well, unless said business never caused any small business owners to lose sales. Liberals HATE Wallmart like conservatives hate abortions. And Microsoft? Big oil companies?

So if you're a successful businessman, especially in the oil industry, who loves his country and prays regularly, liberals will universally hate you. George Bush never had a chance.

As for race, I think the idea that one party or another is racist was invented by the liberals. I've never met anyone who espoused racist doctrine. And the only person I've met who's openly sexist was a lawyer with a SIGNED picture of Bill Clinton in his office.
