Does Harvey Norman Do Trade Ins

My family doesn't love me. How do I deal with it?

I have seen a lot of dysfunction in families, I also grew up feeling unloved by my mom and my sister. I have come to realize that my mother loved me the best she knew how (her mother was very unloving to her) and we are finally in a better place at 46. My sister and I do not have a close relationship at this time (she is not willing to make our relationship a comfortable and mutual one and I no longer participate in relationships that are unhealthy for me, but the door is open should she decide that we BOTH can work at it).I will tell you this, it may not be that they do not love you, it may be that they do not know how to love properly. There is a huge chance that they do not love themselves and that they carry pain from something that has happened to them.Happy, loving people spread happiness and love. Learn to generate your own peace and happiness so that you are not chasing the wrong people to love you and so that you learn to form and be satisfied with healthy relationships outside of family.Do your best to learn to love yourself and from there be as cordial and respectful as you can to them. There are people who will never understand the pain that love ones can cause because they have never seen it up close. Learn not to need them to validate your feelings.Read books on healing and wholeness and if and when you are of age, seek counseling. The best thing you can do is to refuse to let this stop you or turn you into an unloving person. Family is more about bonds than blood. You can find the right people to bond with if you keep yourself healthy. All the best to you!

Can you negotiate a price at Harvey Norman ?

Yes they will come down but not by much, probably 10% tops but then they'll try to make it up + a bit more by talking you into buying an extended warranty. Just one of the tricks of the trade. I've bought a lot of stuff off these guys and intend buying a lot more. I can thoroughly recommend them to you. They'll blow Harvey Norman's, Ted's or any other dealer right out of the water! Yes they are grey but don't let that bother you for an instant.

Why is customer service so bad in Australia?

I just give you two examples, but there are many many more.

1) In the US I go to stores and they will approach me and help me out. If they don't have the item, they will check which store has it and have it put on hold for me or even provide me with a rain check.

Now, here goes Australia. Employees will just point to certain sections and you are pretty much on your own unless you drag them there to help you out (there are exceptions). Forget about rain checks or them checking at other stores for you. They won't even offer or it doesn't exist.

2) Returning stuff:

In the US I can just return without any problems. Even for a long time.

In Australia I bought a cell phone recently as a present, never opened the box and wanted to return it after 5 days (with receipt). I bought it at some big electronics store (chain) in Australia while taking a weekend trip. I was told I could return without any problem as long as I have the receipt, but that was a huge hassle. The first store wouldn't accept it at all. Their excuse was that they are franchised (in the US they are also but they take it). They required me to bring it back to the exact same place I bought it from even though that was extremely far away and nobody told me. So I had to go to the store where I got it from originally as I really never pictured that. When I got there, it was all of a sudden real complicated to return it even though it wasn't opened and I had the receipt. Took me the entire day to return some stupid item and they reluctantly took it back. Usually they don't even do that I was told because of some stupid "change of mind policy". The sales clerk told me different when I bought it.

It kind of just makes me wonder. Are Australians satisfied with the customer service in Australia? I can't even believe that at an age of so much global competition, customer service can be so lousy. It's really as if they don't even want your business and don't care for you coming back that much either. I'm used to the complete opposite.

What is the best store to buy electronics?

I'm looking for a good Sony flat panel tv. I want quality over price but yet want the price to be fair (I'm not worrying about budget right now, I'll worry about that later lol)

Which is the best electronics store to buy tv's and any other types of electronics? (ie: best buy, circuit city, sears, etc) and WHY?
