How do Israelis feel about American Jews?
I'm not an Israeli and all told I have spent two weeks in Israel meandering around the country (floating on the Dead Sea, riding camels in the Negev, visiting a kibbutz near the Golan Heights, eating Chinese food on Lake Kinneret, gasping in awe (or was that King David's revenge?) at the historic sites in Jerusalem, cavorting on the beach in Tel Aviv. The usual tourist stuff. That makes me a two week expert on Israel. That being said, I know a few Israelis - some I even count as personal friends. One immigrated to the US, married an American and stayed and raised her family there. Another is a Canadian who immigrated to Isreal, spends half the year in Ireland, but considers home to be his house in Jerusalem. There is a HUGE Israeli group on Quora - in fact I think that I know more on Quora than out of the virtual sphere. Most Israelis - it seems to me - are very friendly towards their American counterparts. There is a symbiotic relationship. American Jews need Israel as a rallying point. Israel needs American Jews for their support. And, of course, there is the fact that every American Jew can view Israel as a second home. However, there are approximately 8.5 million or so Israelis, and with a population of that size there are probably 17 million opinions on American Jews. Some positive, some negative (as was pointed out to me, the Israelis are in the Middle East and things have run smoothly for them since 1948, Americans just don't get it.) But overall, the commeraderie seems to win out.
Why do some Americans hate Israel?

On Quora, one of the few times I have weighed in on the Isreali- Palestinian conflict, I was called antisemitc. By a conservative gentile.You know how I feel about the middleast conflict? I feel like the US has been involved for decades and there has been no resolution. I think both sides have blood on their hands. I don't have " a side. " its just a big mess.
Why do you americans love war and revenge so much?
We do not love war. We hate it. Our loved ones are getting killed just like yours. Osama Bin Laden caused America to attack Afghanistan and Iraq. After 911 and 3000 American civilians died we went after Al Queda. Saddam was the loudest mouth in the Middle East. He had killed thousands of his own people. He had invaded Kuwait and even tried to get a Nuke for Israel so he could drown them in their blood. Al Queda had bombed the USS Cole and our embassies. Saddam was in favor of Al Queda so George Bush shut him up. I agree with you. America should never have made an agreement with the Saudis for oil. Saddam Hussein could not be allowed to get a nuclear weapon of any kind because he would nuke Israel or who ever he wanted to nuke. We probably have the greatest nuclear bombs in all of history and we cringe at the thought of ever having to use them again. We know that no Arab dictator with the greed for power like Saddam Hussein should never have a nuclear weapon. Just like Iran. They have no business with a nuclear weapon. Christians have more love for humanity, than Islamic Muslims have. Muslims kill their own people, Shiite versus Sunni. Their own brothers and sisters. They push their children out front as human shields along with their women. Christians protect their women and children. You have never seen an American soldier pushing a child in front of him for protection. Our soldiers have killed Islamic children in these wars and they come home greatly scarred by doing this. For the rest of their lives they see these innocent children that they killed. This is not easy for the mind to deal with when you are a loving father with children of your own. War is hell. Iran is looking for war or an excuse to start a war. They have been working on it for a long time now. Don't think for one minute that Iran can launch anything that will reach the US. Israel has no right to exist?
This is absolute bullshit. Israel has not had peace since 1948 because the ARABS KEEP ATTACKING IT. You think Israel wants to always be in a state of war? Of course it doesn't, but there is no choice when you are constantly being attacked. 9 million, you say? Sources? That is a ridiculous figure and completely untrue. Whilst the UN says that the Arabs should have part of the land, the Arabs want all of the land and for Israel to not exist. That is why they don't have land (although there are 22 other Arab states). Israel did not 'take Arab lands' in 47 and 67. The land was not Arab to begin with, and in both wars, the Arabs attacked Israel, so the land was captured in DEFENSIVE war. Israel has had Jewish presence for thousands of years. It is historically Jewish and is the only homeland for Jews as an ethnicity, let alone as a religion. There would be no place for Jews if there was not Israel and Israel is religiously, culturally and ethnically significant to Jews, more so than any other people. I couldn't understand a single thing you wrote about Spain, but to claim that the Jews somehow betrayed the Arabs and that it was the Jews, the persecuted peoples, fault is just wrong and comes from those loony, anti-Semitic conspiracy theories. Israel has never attacked Lebanon, or any country for that matter. Both of those wars were started by Arabs attacking Israel. That is historical FACT. Israel has no need to start wars.
