How do I get a job in cyber security?
Hi ,I am also interested in Security domain and I too faced similar situation after completion of my B.Tech ,In B.Tech i selected in campus but i am not interested in DEV , so i searched for nearly 6 months after that i got suggestion from my friend who is working in security domain ,he said that minimum 2 or 3 years experience required to get a job in security if you are trying from out side it will take that amount of time ,and he also said that people in security domain have good knowledge and if possible master's degree .I catch the word if possible master's ...at that point of time i decided to do Master's in Information security ...i wrote GATE ...Not qualified ...PGCET (conducted by state govt ) i got 468 state rank ...after that in counseling i choose IS courses ,i selected from top college in state ...when i am second year campus selection started ...i selected for one MNC i.e Broadcom ...as an Intern Engineer ...while doing Internship I have learn many things from Broadcom ...after completion of internship they offered but my passion is IS so ,i asked them i want to settle in security domain ,but they said presently don't have positions ...after that I did CCNA and certified ,,after that i searched linkedIn ,naukri almost all job sites ...for job ..finally got a call from security R&D company hyderabad ....,as Security Associate Engineer .,presently working ...after that according to my interest I want to be expert in terms of knowledge so i enrolled PG courses from UoH which cyber laws and IPR and CEH ...,So ...don't listen to other words ,that only experience persons only in Security TRY TRY TRY ...keep update from website news like thehackersnews ,hackesonline ,nullcon ,OWASP,use kali daily purpose ...watch number of videos ...It should be your passion NOT simply your job ...,All the best ..be honest ,play hard .
Is it legal for the security guards standing at the mall entrance to check our handbags and backpacks?
I’m not a lawyer, but I think they don’t have a right to check your bags. That’s why they request you to put your bags in racks outside.It is extremely serious when they check the bag of goods that you purchased at the mall because they let you in only after checking you and all of their products has secret tags that alert the security system if customers really stole something. Also, they have video surveillance to track you. So it is completely unaccetable to check the people who entered with bare hands.
What exactly do security guards check in entrances of malls, cinema halls, restaurants, etc. with that machine they hold? Were there any instances where they actually proved to be useful?
Here is a funny story which happened to me.This was a few weeks ago at inorbit mall in Bangalore. I walk up to the entrance with my keys, phone, wallet and a Swiss army knife in my pocket. The knife looks like this and is menacing looking:The lady security guard waves here wand and detects some metal in my pocket.Guard: “What's in your pocket?”Me: “Keys”Guard: “Take it out”I took out my keys. She waved her magic wand again and it still beeps as the knife is still in my pocket.Guard: “There is something else there”I was thinking although there is nothing she could legally do to me this could still be pretty embarrassing and they could stop me from entering the mall. Anyhow I take out the knife and hold it in my hand at shoulder height. She waves here wand again and no beep this time.Guard: “Thank you. You may enter”I breathe a sigh of relief and walk right in. Phew.The guard was so fixated on the wand not detecting metal that she forgot why she was doing it in the first place.The tool itself is useful but in the right hands.

Can a police officer issue a traffic ticket on private property, such as a shopping mall?
I was issued a parking citation for parking in a handicapped spot in a huge mall parking lot of which ALL entrances are posted PRIVATE PROPERTY. The placard had fallen onto the dash board but the officer, couldn't or wouldn't look to see if one was present, only stating that it 'had to be hanging from the rear view mirror in plain site'. I not only stated that mine was until it fell but also told her that she was WRONG as my state also issues a larger placard that you CANNOT hang but must place on the dashboard, exactly where my hanging type had fallen! Even though I produced the required placard for the officer who was still in the next row of that same lot, she wouldn't rescind the ticket. I contested it in court, bringing my placard, photographs and my WITNESS to all of this with me. I plead my case to which the officer was asked to respond. She denied everything, stating that I never showed up while she was in that lot! My witness then spoke up, telling the judge that she had a photo of the hanging, damaged mirror on the officer' cruiser, taken that very day with me in the photo! The judge was now becoming angry at the officer's lies. He added "as that lot is posted 'PRIVATE PROPERTY' why were you there attempting to enforce public motor vehicle laws that DON'T apply to private property? (I didn't know but suspected that might help so I photographed the signs, ALL of them at every entrance.) The officer stated that they did in fact apply (a bold move on her part as she has been a proven liar up to this point). The judge stated that MOVING violations were applicable, not CIVIL infractions as parking is. My ticket was dismissed. I asked the judge to request the officer remain until I had a chance to leave as I didn't want to 'commit any infractions' in the court house parking lot while attempting to leave same. The judge asked the officer if she felt I was going to commit any and followed up with 'you have a very credible witness, if anything transpires, bring it to me NOW. I left, quietly and as rapidly and I could, spotting her in her cruiser across the lot. As luck would have it, I was parked so as to be able to enter the road in my direction of travel but she needed to circle the lot or violate the signage and travel down the wrong way to follow me. She chose neither but sat there, most likely licking her wounds knowing full well that lying to a judge was NOT a good way to promote her occupational future.
