Does Music Have These Effects

Yes It surely affects animals..Music seems a more fundamentally human art form than most. It's home to our most intimate emotions and has such a strong effect on our brain chemistry that it's addictive. But it isn't just humans that love music. The science of music's effect on animals and even plants reveals something startling: It's not just an art form — it's essentially a force of nature.Due in no small part to the frustration of being woken up by an early-rising bird, most of us write off all animal noise as merely irritating. Animals, on the other hand, are empathetic when they listen to cross-species music, and react with emotions and behavior eerily similar to our own. At dog kennels, researchers found that classical music reduce anxiety in the dogs, helping them sleep more and bark less. Heavy metal, on the other hand, made the dogs bark more, sleep less and shake violently, all symptoms of a true metalhead.Like dogs, cows also prefer classical music, and will shockingly produce more milk when they are listening to slow jams (music under 100 beats per minute) and less milk when listening to fast music (music over 120 beats per minute). But regardless of an increase in milk production, cows are downright curious about human music, no matter if it's good or bad

Okay so here is a song called Wonderwall by the British rock band Oasis, with vocals. And here is its instrumental.Sometimes I find myself leaning towards the “spoken” version, as it expresses me in my deepest desperate feelings I have to a friend, a shoulder to cry on, who I’ve never had. So lyrics perfectly describing my current situation is an aspect that makes me adore a song from the very first listen, the reletablicy.Sometimes I find myself listening to the instrumental. Eh, words are just too much sometimes! The instrumental is definitely where I go to when I’ve just woken up, wants to feel hopeful, nostalgic, or just wanna listen to a favorite song of mine from a different perspective, while studying. In the end, the guitar instrumental in this one is what inspired me to learn how to play the guitar. So long story short YES, each one tells a different story, and makes you sense a different feeling. And if they gave the same vibe, melancholy for example, more likely there will be a difference in delivery, in intensity. And when both aspects are equally good in a song, you know this song is of a high quality.P.s: What I wrote above can also be applied on two different songs, an instrumental piece and an acapella one.

I believe music does have thee same impact on everyone depending on the tone that it was set in.I’m travelling in a car, it’s raining outside and I’m probably excited to get to the destination. However, when a sad music or song plays on the radio, I get sad and depressed gazing out at the drops of rain splashing onto the sidewalk as if I’m in so much pain. My friends admit that they used to do the exact same thing for no whatever reason. We all felt the same way.Music is a very powerful medium, it gives depth to any emotion. Imagine a world without sound. No need for that, just checkout a music video online but, watch it while it’s on mute. Feel aimless right? You can’t exactly comprehend anything that’s on the music video.I don’t know if it is similar to others. I listen to music while I do math, when I’m alone, travelling, on a walk, when I’m bored, cooking, I feel it’s presence on a daily basis.I’m not quite sure if this reason justifies the question. Regardless, I’m getting on to it. Music or any kind of sound for that matter is transferred through sound waves. These sound waves are produced and propagated through vibrating particles. When a music is set in a certain tune, it effects the tone of vibration which is transmitted to us too.We interpret these various vibration tones into emotions. When we feel sad, we also feel very down and sluggish. Same goes to the music, low tunes with slow beats speak to us as sad music. You are in a club or party, bursting with energy and excitement to dance, the music being played is also full of energy , plummeting from high frequency to low frequency subconsciously putting you into a dance frenzy to move your legs and hands. Everyone on the dance floor dances as well.

Does music effect our society or our youth?

The excuses for inappropriate choices are also heard by the children and it could be worse than the music because most but not all know that violent music is the story of something that does not happen everywhere. The youth have choices. It's no different than when a younger person informs their parent it's their fault that they did something - mind you, the parent would never do or informs their parent that they should be able to put up with their ____. That is a young one admitting honestly that they have been given excuses and that their parent should conform because now they are exercising what they heard from an excuse giver or somebody with bad attitude.

I believe that some genres are worse than others but I will not go as far as calling certain genres 100% violent or bad because I took the time to look into it. Yes, there are some out there that when their grandchildren get their ears into their music they took pay to sing/perform may regret it and get questioned *by a child* but not all. This is the part where even an entertainer will have to explain themselves but not all, no.

I agree that kids should be taught to respect themselves and accept the differences between stories which may or may not be true. I believe some of lyrics are personal and some of it is advertising via record labels owned by who knows aka: a lure that will result in losing health/time only to end up benefiting some sort of paid service. However, consider over-protection. At least my sons know I did the dance of communication even if or when they defied me on the issue I seemed crazy but I'm not too worried what a teen thinks when I'm clear on something. To get the whole picture and gear to make a point ya need to investigate a bit and get them interested in the postive parts of their interests.

Does music affect plant growth?

yes, they did an experiment on mythbusters. check out discovery channel website
after further investigation, I found this on wikipedia about their experiment:
Seven small greenhouses were set up on the M5 Industries roof. Four were set up with stereos playing endlessly looping recordings (as having the MythBusters actually talk to the plants could contaminate the samples with their expelled carbon dioxide): Two of negative speech, two of positive speech (Kari and Scottie each made one positive and one negative inducing soundtrack), a fifth with classical music and a sixth with intense death metal music. A seventh greenhouse, used as a control sample, had no stereo. The greenhouses with the recordings of speech grew better than the control, regardless of whether such talk was kind or angry. The plants in the greenhouse with the recording of classical music grew better, while the plants in the greenhouse with the recording of intense death metal grew best of all.

What affect does music have on teenagers?

Music has become a large part of everyone’s life. As music has changed through out the years, artists have become much more lax with the message that they send to the public. As laws of censorship change, a separation of the public’s freedom of speech and the medias has become very significant. As the government cracks down, many artists fight to keep their freedom. With people blaming their actions on the lyrics of the music they are exposed to, this is going to be a hard feat for the artists to accomplish. Although the fight of the musical artists against the government has been going on for the past 20 years, it has become even more emanate now. Are the actions of people to be blamed on the music? What effect does music have on the social behavior? Should these effects make harder censorship laws, or is music protected by the Bill of Rights?

Music is important in adolescent lives: teenagers spend between four and five hours a day listening to music and watching music videos and name music listening as their preferred non-school activity. It is not surprising that government officials, researchers and parents alike are concerned about the impact of music on teenagers. Disturbed by the amount of violence portrayed in modern music, adults worry that these messages are contributing to the rise in violence among kids. Forty-eight percent (48%) of Americans say that violence in popular music should be more heavily regulated and 59% would like to restrict violence in music.

The effects of stimulating and sedating music were determined for heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure of premature infants in an intensive care nursery. The results indicate that the calming and stabilizing effect of sedating music might help to reduce the use of sedative drugs in infants on ventilators and reduce the incidence of respiratory problems.

The basic rights of freedom of speech are outlined in the Bill of Rights. Do these rights also cover the freedom of speech in music? Music is a form of media and should be censored, just as movies and television.

Music may have a substantial effect on many people, but everyone knows the difference between right and wrong, fact and fiction.

Does weed always have these side-effects?

Well really just depends on what type of weed you smoked. For example,an indica type of Weed will give you a different affect from a sativa. If you smoked something like train wreck or black magic then yea you probably would pass out and feel that way. Most likely the first time you smoked sativa which made you feel giggly and talkative and the second time you smoked was probably an indica which gives you a more calming affect. You will feel sleepier and you will become "couch locked". From what you described and the fact that your not a frequent smoker that sounds like side affects. You most likely smoked a very strong indica and you being a "Light weight" (non frequent smoker) experienced the side effects of an indica type marijuna very heavily. I won't criticize you for smoking pot but don't smoke if you don't know what your smoking because you might run into some laced marijuna and that will be bad.

What affect does music have on both human behavior and mood?

Well, when I'm feeling down, I listen to a sad song, and it makes me feel like I'm not alone, that someone else understands me. When I'm tired, I listen to a song with lots of heavy guitars, something that'll pick me up, and get me rollin'. When I'm mellow, or want to be mellow, I listen to a slow song with lots of meaning behind it. Basically, the way music affects my mood is it helps me visualize the state I want to be in, and helps me get there. If I want to be focused, I'll put on a song that helps me focus. If I'm having a bad day, I'll put on a song about having a bad day, and dealing with it, usually in a violent manner... >.>;

It's just something that's... I dunno, there for you, when you need it.

Does rap music have a positive or negative effect on the youth and why?

generally everything has positives and negatives...people,music and all kind of stuff in the world...anyways...it really depends on what you listen to and if you understand what you listening to...for an example...many people listen to 2pac and you ask him who is 2pac and they will say he was just a big gangsta and bla bla...anyways...2pac was more then that....someone who fought for justice and told the people how the system was corrupt and mostly a rebel without a pause...it depends on how you receive and comprehend a message you hear on a song
