Getting adequate and enough sleep during the night is vital to loosing weight. Without getting your REM cycle sleep you do not loose weight, it can actually cause you to gain weight. Your body rest while you sleep, but you do burn calories. How much calories depends on how fit you are. The more fit the higher your metabolism is and the more calories you burn.

The more sleep the more energized your body is during the day, which leads to you burning more calories. Also, getting good sleep will help your stress levels and stress will make you gain weight.

On top of that, they reported feeling significantly hungrier, less satisfied after their meals, and felt too fatigued to exercise.While sleep can’t directly make you gain or lose weight, it affects a number of factors that have a powerful influence on things that have a direct impact on your weight, health, and hunger levels.Sleep is powerful. you do loose weight from the sweat as well. however this is dehydrating you and most of us will go drink water therefore you have replaces the sweat you lost. it is the thing that makes us sweat useally that makes us loose weight.

Does lack of sleep cause weight loss?

The longer you stay awake then the more energy your body uses to stay awake. The more energy it uses the more fat it would burn off for energy?? I heard that lack of sleep causes wieght gain but that dosent make since. Well kinda, but the people that say that say it because the assume youd be eating every 30 minutes or something. What if youre just playing a video game or watching tv or using the internet and to occupied to feel "hungry". I honestly only eat when im bored so yeah...

Does lack of sleep cause weight gain?

Of course it can.

Think about it from the point of view of common sense: The more hours you sleep, the less hours you have to eat during the day and the more your body can work on completely digesting the food and using the nutrients.

Now from the scientific standpoint, the less sleep you have the slower your metabolism is. Besides, four hours of sleep is very unhealthy. You should try and take naps during the day (If you can) or go to bed earlier. Only getting four hours of sleep could do more then affect your physical health. :) Have a good night.

Do you lose weight if you sweat in your sleep?

you are constantly burning calories no matter what you're doing. Sweat really is not linked to weight (in terms of fat) it is linked to water weight. If you drink a pound of water you'll be a pound heavier and if you sweat it all out then you'll be a pound lighter but you're really not losing weight cause you'll eventually have to drink water to stay alive. You're losing weight by doing the cardio not the sweating.

And going into a sauna or out when it's hot won't make you lose weight. You burn calories when your body naturally tries to generate heat. For example if it's cold out and you shiver to warm up then you are burning calories and losing weight

Why do you lose weight when you sleep?

There's been a lot of talk recently about losing weight while you sleep. I weigh myself before I got to bed and again the next morning and I consistently shed a pound or two. I gain the weight back during the day, so my net weight doesn't really change. I assume that everyone naturally loses some weight when they sleep. My question is why? Since there's no way I'm burning 3,500 to 7,000 calories a night, I'm guessing the answer has to do with water lost through respiration and perspiration. After all, every pint of water lost means "losing" a pound of weight. Anyone know the answer?
