Does The Appendix Make A Sound When It Bursts

URGENT: Can a dog's appendix burst?

Dogs do not have an appendix, rather it is a vestigial structure that is part of the human digestive system. You should take your dog to your veterinarian or local emergency clinic immediately. They will diagnose the problem and will not perform any expensive procedure without your permission. They will likely only charge you a small fee for the visit. If you have trouble paying that, most vets will work something out with you. The worst thing you can do is wait and do nothing.

Please do not wait to have the dog examined! Not only will it help the dog if it is in discomfort, but by having any potential problem diagnosed early you may save a lot of money in the long run.

Good luck.

How can i tell if my appendix burst?

If your appendix burst you will certainly know it.

Does the Appendix burst for everyone at some point?

No, problems with your appendix only happen to some people. Statistically they happen more to males than females, but they do not occur in every person. Many times if the person does have appendix problems they are found early enough that the appendix is removed before it bursts. Burst appendixes are very serious and can lead to death.

Did my appendix burst? HELP?!?

I was laying in bed, and all of a sudden felt a sharp pain in my lower right abdomen and then i pushed in and i felt another sharp pain, I pushed again and there was a like.. bump on my stomach and i pushed it and it made a like.. weird squishing noise that's never been there before. Every time I push on it it makes that sound. I have no abdominal pain now.. but the squishy noise is still there and the bump keeps coming back. Could my appendix have burst?

(no pain before the sharp pain I had a lil while ago)

Can a person with a burst appendix be saved?

I've been having an argument with someone who insists that if someone's appendix bursts, they are going to die, period, and the only thing that can be done for them is to give them painkillers. The only actual support he has for this assertion is "it's common sense" and "antibiotics don't work that fast". I quoted the wikipedia article on appendicitis which says that peritonitis is life-threatening but doesn't say anything about it being always inevitably fatal, but he just made fun of me for citing wikipedia.

Which one of us is right? Is it possible for a person with a burst appendix to be treated and survive?

What are the symptoms of an appendix to burst?

Stomach pain that won't go away, and not being able to pinpoint exactly where it hurts.

IS IT MY APPENDIX?!?!?!?

I'm not comfortable saying no, that you definitely don't have appendicitis, but most of the time people KNOW when they have it because is it so sudden and severe. You say you have had "discomfort" and it has been over your whole stomach... Usually with an inflamed or burst appendix, you have a sudden onset of pain that can start near your belly button but soon moves to your lower right side. If you were to draw a line from your belly button to your right hip bone, your appendix would be in the middle of that line and would be uncomfortable to touch. A home brewed test that will often tell you whether or not your pain is from appendicitis: push in that area I described very firmly and hold for 5-10 seconds, and then release quick. If you feel horrible pain upon release you probably have an inflamed appendix. Also, appendicitis also usually is accompanied by a low fever and nausea/vomiting and no appetite and since you are not experiencing those symptoms you probably don't have appendicitis. To me, it sounds like you either have bad gas, are a bit constipated or are about to start your menstrual cycle. If these symptoms appear within a few hours then you should go to the ER, but I think you're okay for now.

Is it possible to survive a burst appendix without its remains being removed?

I also have survived a ruptured appendix (exploded appendix as the surgeon called it) without it being removed. Although, I have been told it disintegrated.Apparently it had ruptured 2 weeks before i was admitted to hospital. To be fair I was in a lot of pain, but nothing like what I imagined someone with appendicitis would feel like.It had walled off into a mass in my abdomen. I was getting incredibly ill before going into hospital, high fever, shakes, sweating, the whole lot. The pain was soo high in my abdomen, just under my breast bone, that no one expected the cheeky appendix. We got there in the end, we found the sucker had burst. I had a drain placed to drain the pus (80 mls was drained.. haha gross). I got sepsis from the whole thing and was in for a fair few weeks on drip antibiotics.Though the story sounds bad, it was actually fine — I even participated in some research at the hospital. I have outpatient check-ups every month for 5 months to check it’s all fine, and that’s it, no surgery!

How long does it take to recover after having your appendix removed?

I had my appendix removed on Friday. Note that my appendix didn't burst, so my experiences weren't as bad as they could have been. I had my laparoscopic surgery on Friday morning. I left the hospital 15 hours after the surgery. The first 6-8 hours were horrible. I could barely walk. I was uncomfortable because I had to urinate, but was unable to.After 8 hours, I was able to get out of bed and walk, even though it was painful. Urinating was very painful, but slowly began to become easier. After 15 hours, I left the hospital. I could walk, but had to walk slowly. It was difficult to do anything that required strength from my abdomen, for example, leaning over, getting in and out a car, or sitting up while in bed. Urinating was still slightly painful.I've been taking acetaminophen hydrocodone (it was some other brand other than Vicodin) ever since I left the hospital and it helps a lot.About 2 days after the surgery, I was walking around pretty fine with mild pains. I was able to do non-strenuous activities. It was still slightly painful to do anything that requires strength from my abdomen.About 4 days after the surgery I returned to work and was pretty comfortable at work. I have a desk job though, so if my job required a bit of physical activity I would have waited a few more days.

Can you eat cookies without your appendix?

I know this question sounds really REALLY dumb, but I wasn't sure how to ask it, so let me explain.
My friend just got put in the hospital after his appendix burst and they removed it. I know sometimes after surgeries there are certain things you can and cannot do, and I wanted to make him some cookies and bring them to him. Is that okay?

Again, I know this question sounds dumb, but I just want to be sure. Please just be nice and do not give me any smart@ss remarks. Thanks :)
