I would be the last person to call myself a cougar. I just happened to have fallen in love with men that are younger than me. In my younger days I lived with a man who was 8 years younger than I and then I was married to a man who was 9 years older than me. He suffered through 4 years of cancer and afterwards I didn't date for 2-3 years and then I moved to a new locale and that seemed to open the floodgates for younger men. I was 48 but looked younger and I was amazed at all the attention I received from men of all ages. But I liked the younger ones be caused they were enthusiastic, appreciative and exciting. Frankly, I didn't want to go through what I had just gone through with my husband and choose younger men as they were less likely to need nursing care. I also believed, erroneously as it turned out, that these young men would not be interested in a long term relationship with a woman 20 years older than them. I had what should have been a summer fling turn into an albatross of a relationship but that was because of his personality flaws convinced him that he had found his "sugar momma" and that he would never have to work again in his life. He was sly and manipulative and ended up like a pouting toddler who didn't get the treat he wanted. Very unattractive. I'm not looking to get into a relationship now but if I was I'd be like Goldilocks and choose carefully. Not the baby bed or the papa bears bed but probably the mama bears bed. The middle way. Not too young, not too old but just right. Maybe 50 or so. But it's really up to fate.
