Does This Make My Transcript Not Official

Difference between unofficial and official transcript?

So I was on financial aid and academic suspension at a community college, couldn't appeal so I transferred to Walden using my unofficial transcript and they let me in, taking classes, got my financial aid award but I won't get any money until I send them my official transcript, does my official transcript contain something that would make my new school not give me any aid? Please don't be a condescending jerk.

Do I need official transcripts for MEPS?

I set for my college transcripts a few weeks ago and they are still not here. I am scheduled for MEPs this thursday and I was wondering if I could just use unofficial transcripts if they do not come in by thurday?

Do I need to send official high school transcript other than the Common App? Is it just over if I post student's transcript in Common App or do I still need to send the transcript directly to the university?

The majority of schools require an official transcript to be submitted along with your application. There are some schools which will accept what’s written in the Common App for purposes of evaluation. If they admit you, they will still require an official transcript to verify the information before you can enroll.

How many copies of official transcripts should I have if I want to apply for an MS (online) in 8 US universities? Do I have to scan and upload the transcripts, or do I have to send a separate copy to each university?

The only valid answer to this question will come from each university you are applying to.Typically, the admissions office (at each university) will require you to have an official transcript sent directly from the other institution. This method serves to avoid academic fraud. A copy of the transcript submitted by the student would be considered “unofficial” and would not be counted in evaluation for admission. At one of my alma maters you would need to submit eight requests for transcript, one to each of the universities you are applying to.

Do I remove my official transcripts from the envelope before I send it?

Across the envelope where it is sealed, it says that my transcripts become unofficial if the seal is broken. I have to send my transcripts to the honor society I'm in to apply for an internship. Do they mean the envelope itself, or some kind of seal on the transcripts inside? It seems odd to me to mail my letter to the honor society still in the envelope, but I don't want to make them 'unofficial' by opening it!

Someone please clarify for me. Thanks.

What is an official high school transcript? When you are sending it to college how do they know it is not fake?

Is it possible to send official transcripts and SAT scores to colleges on your own by email, considering the fact that your high school does not have the facilities to send and you can't pay for an extra College Board school sending report service?

I assume this question is from an international student.“Is it possible to send official transcripts and SAT scores to colleges on your own by email, considering the fact that your high school does not have the facilities to send?”Any document sent from student’s email address is not official anymore. Does your school have a computer and Internet connection? If it does, that means they can upload the file to the Common App or send it to colleges directly. If your school doesn’t have a computer and Internet, get a sealed and signed envelope with the official transcript and send it by certified mail.Keep in mind that colleges often say that they want either an online application (with everything submitted electronically) OR a paper application - not mixed. Check the college website for instructions and contact admissions office if you have any questions on how to submit your application and all supporting documents. With SAT, you can send four score reports for free (when you order them with your registration or soon after the test). So four colleges on your list should be covered by free reports. How many colleges do you plan to apply to? Any additional score report will cost you $12. Good news is that $12 will cover all SAT scores in your College Board account that you want to send to a particular college (so you don’t have to pay for each subject test, for example). Bad news is that international students cannot get a fee waiver.I understand that all these fees add up and could be a hardship to a low-income student. However, the reality is that if you want to get a college education in the US, there will be certain expenses you cannot avoid, even if the college will provide the full financial aid. If you cannot afford $12 for your SAT score, I don’t know how it would be possible for you to come to the US to study.

Can I share my official transcripts with a prospective employer?

As others have noted, of course you can share your transcripts. You can give them to a prospective employer, your cousin, your neighbor - whoever you want to give them to…Depending upon the employer, a copy that you have in your possession may be sufficient. Some employers, Universities for example, will require an official academic transcript sent directly from your University. However uncommon, people have been known to forge or modify transcripts, so getting it from the source is the preferred method of some employers.
