Job offer sounds sketchy?
A few days ago I saw a flyer advertising "Teen Jobs" and decided to check it out. I've seen these flyers around my neighborhood before, usually by the end of each month all of the numbers would be taken and refreshed with a new flyer (assuming that teens are interested) I called the number (which led to a voicemail) and told them I was interested. Yesterday they called me explaining what I would be doing, which is selling newspaper subscriptions door-to-door. The work is commission based (I could make 200-300 or 400-500) and I would be working with other teens (well in this case, I'd be working WITH teens because I'm technically an adult). They said they would pick me up around 4-5pm and have me home by 8-9pm. At first I was thrilled, but after discussing with my family, I'm a bit skeptical. They didn't mention a website nor did I see one of the flyers. The fact that they'd pick me up is odd too. However, I have had teens come to our door to try to sell us papers before. Should I give it a go? Or should I just not take the risk? The number I called in regards to the job is: (510)224-0301

I applied for a job at McAlister's Deli....got called in for a interview....a week later I got called in for a 2nd interview....2 days later I called them and asked if I got the job. However, the hiring manager was not in, but they told me he had a note on his desk that said I need to come in next week and fill out some paperwork! This sounds like a good thing to me...but I have never really done this before...
Does this babysitting job sound sketchy?
There was an ad up on a job board that said this lady needed a babysitter for her 4 year old daughter. I replied saying I was interested and she replied back but something just doesn't seem right? I am relocating with my daughter who will be 4 years old in July and seeking a good caregiverfor her for the first a months. I am a Medical counselor at the Alabama State Schools for the Deafand the Blind. I am starting a new appointment with the hearing impaired at Some Colleges in Utah. I will be needing two babysitters for mornings (11am - 4pm) and evenings (4pm to 9pm), Mondays through Fridays respectively because I work long hours. The start date is (2nd ofJuly and the end date is 30th of July). Let me know the schedule that suits you and where you would like to care for her? We have the option of dropping her at your house or you coming for her at the hotel. Either ways works fine with me. I just want to make sure she is fine. I will be glad if we can set up an interview on (1st of July) and discuss about the kid-fun activities, I will be interested in getting to know each other. What does a T. rex really sound like?
It hadn't been done in any reliable way. That Parasaurolophus attempt is now considered sketchy at best. Think of the voice of a typical boy and his grown-up self. His vocal cords don't change, but when he sings the same note as a boy and as a man, they will sound very different, because the length and size of the vocal tract changed. The same will be true for a dinosaur. Assuming that they had a syrinx (the bird equivalent of vocal cords), the sound produced by it will be starkly modified by the trachea. The hardest parts of a bird trachea are cartilage bronchial rings, not even bones, so the chances of finding a fossil with good enough preservation to know the trachea's size and the muscle attachments on it are pretty small. Even if the trachea played a negligible role and we reconstructed it for good measure, the syrinx is a very complex bit of anatomy. It produces sound based on the body's movement, not only by its own musculature (5-9 muscles), and that sound can be modified by air speed. In more advanced songbirds, the syrinx is so finely controlled that the birds have two separately controlled voices.The assumption of a syrinx is pretty strong, especially for a tyrannosaur, but I can't find any evidence for its existence or absence. In any case, reconstructing the vocals is very dfficult going only on bones. It would be very difficult even if we had the whole animal preserved.

Why do entrepreneurs always sound sketchy?
Always?! Really?! I presume you mean that they have some kind of hidden agenda, and are always dishonest, to separate you from your hard earned dollar. Sure there are dishonest entrepreneurs. But there are dishonest people in all industries. Remember, if it weren’t for entrepreneurs there would be no new advances in technology, private space travel, entertainment and I could go on and on. The computer or smartphone you use now would not be here without an entrepreneur. And something as mundane as the bed you sleep in tonight would not be in your room without the work of an entrepreneur. So the next time you hear an entrepreneur speak don’t just listen to what they say….compare it to what they do.
