Does Ucla Look At Your Unweighted Gpa Or Weighted

Does UCLA and UCI care more about weighted or unweighted GPA's?

They care about weighted GPAs. So for UCLA it'd be best to have a GPA higher than 4.0 weighted to have a good shot. However, if your school does not weigh GPA or doesn't have many AP courses, it won't hurt you that much if everything else is solid.

3.5 Unweighted GPA, and 3.9 Weighted GPA?

Yeah i have a 3.5 Unweighted GPA, and 3.9 Weighted. I got a 32 on the ACT, and an 1980 on the SAT. My Junior to Senior Years i had a 4.0 GPA Unweighted every trimester, I just screwed up in my Freshman year and beginning of Sophomore, so hopefully they dont care as much about those years. I play Tennis, Basketball and I am on the Debate team. I was wondering which schools i could get into out of this list.

Schools: Michigan, Berkeley, UCLA, Emery, USC, NYU, Cornell, Brown, Stanford, MIT, and Pomona

How can I get into UCLA with a 3.85 unweighted GPA (5.28 weighted), 1200 SAT, no sports/clubs, and an out of state student?

For a typical major in UCLA’s College of Letters and Science, it is theoretically possible to get in with what you have. The problem http://is….it might be too late. If you have already applied for 2019–2020, it’s too late. If you are applying later this year for 2020–2021, then Karen’s answer above is correct. Not only will Admissions be looking at you, but so will the Alumni Association for one of their merit-based scholarships. (You do need to apply.) Typically if you end up winning an Alumni Scholarship (based on essays, interviews and other exercises), there’s a “back door” chance that you’ll get admitted to Letters and Science (but not Engineering). The scholarship used to be limited to California students, but is now nationwide. They LOVE stories about overcoming adversity, experience in leadership, creativity, even more so than Admissions. If you don’t get in, go to a California Community College (or some other school) for two years, and then try to get in as a Transfer student (much easier).Or……just go somewhere else. I loved UCLA; it was a great school. But hindsight shows me that all the paranoia over getting in is not worth it. I know many successfully people who attended Cal State Northridge, Cal State Long Beach, Loyola Marymount, USC, the Claremont Colleges and other such schools. Being an undergrad at UCLA guarantees NOTHING in the end, other than the experience of being on a very busy campus with tens of thousands of other students. The UCLA version of your major may very well not be the best around, and being in the midst of students as good as you means very high competition that ends up showing you as “average”. You could go to UC Santa Cruz, relax a LOT more, and end up getting into Med School (if that’s your dream) much easier than if you attended UCLA.

Does UC Berkeley look at weighted or unweighted GPA?

Hello, I was on Collegeboard.com and it says that 91% of Freshman admitted had a GPA of 3.75 or higher on a 4.0 scale (which would be unweighted). I have a 3.65 unweighted, but a 4.14 weighted. Does this mean I'm below the average acceptance rate, because I thought UCs look at weighted GPA?

Do UC schools look at unweighted or weighted GPA?

UCs look at both unweighted and weighted GPA. Campuses like Berkeley, UCLA, UCSD look at unweighted and fully weighted GPA, while other UC campuses may cap the weighted GPA at 4.4 or 4.5.

I have a 3.74 unweighted GPA and a 4.12 weighted GPA and im going into my senior year. My SAT score is 1500.?

You fit a similar category as I did when I was applying... You'll get into many stellar schools, so congratulations. UCLA will be a breeze to get into for you, and for that matter if you are a california resident, you'll be able to get into any california public school, including also Berkeley or UCSD. Stanford, sees another type of applicant, where everyone who applies is just like you. So the key, and let me be very clear, the KEY, for private schools is your ESSAY! They want to see that YOU as a PERSON will be a good addition to their campus. They have no problem filling their admissions every year with thousands of very bright people like yourself, don't take it personally. But sit down, work on your essay, revise it, talk to a counselor, and think about this when you read it, What does this essay say about me? What would I think about this person, if I was reading for the first time. Colleges want Friendly, Outgoing, and Social people at their schools. If they had to choose from someone with a 4.0 and a 1550 with no social skills, and someone with a 4.0 and a 1500 with excellent social skills, they would pick the latter, because they want a stimulated activity on campus, where people aren't afraid to talk, and study together, make and create friendships.... Why do they care about this? Because private schools depend on alums to donate to their schools, statistically, students who are outgoing, and make lots of friends at school, tend to have more fond memories of school, and when they get rich, they are more likely to donate... hence the school prefers these students, for the future benefit of their budgets

Do UC colleges look at unweighted or weighted GPA's?

also, i'm curious as to whether colleges look at improvement because i heard that as a sophomore, improvement doesnt matter and that you just have to get like...good grades throughout

Do colleges such as UCLA osr USC look at weighted gpa or unweighted?

It has been a while, but when I attended UCLA they looked at a the weighted GPA-- so I got to apply with a 3.96 instead my unweighted 3.55. Also, all the UC's did not count freshman year of high school and if your fall semester of senior didn't end until January (as my high school did) they did not look at fall of your senior year. So, basically they only look at sophomore and junior year of high school. However, you do have to keep a reasonable GPA during senior year (like a 3.0) or they'll rescind admissions. This happened to a roommate of mine who was a admitted to Berkeley, but failed a bunch of classes her senior year.

But as I mentioned before, it has been a long time, I graduated from UCLA in 2004--things may have changed.

btw, if given the choice between UCLA or USC, you have to choose UCLA because USC SUCs (sorry, I just had to, you know cross-town rivals, you'll understand if you attend one of these universities).

Good luck!
