Does University Of California San Fransisco Have Psychology Major

What's the difference between the University of San Francisco vs...?

University of California San Francisco vs. University of San Francisco? It's just one has California in it and I can't decipher which is which... Are they the same school? They are both in different cities though. Help?

Should I go to University of California, San Diego or Scripps College?

It doesn’t matter what other people think only what you think so you will have to solve this on your own. It also doesn’t matter which route you take because they are very very good colleges. So which major do you really want and are you sure? It is harder to change at UC especially if you want to change into an impacted major. Scripps you are totally flexible.Cog Sci and Neuroscience is very strong at UCSD, well certainly at the grad level it is tops and that bodes well for the undergrad.Mudd’s curriculum for CS is extremely strong and any Scripps grad with a Mudd education will do very well.I’d rather be in SD at the beach and bit milder weather (LA can get very hot.) Claremont is just okay suburb, slightly better than suburb with the village feel, but if you don’t have a car you don’t get to enjoy some of the LA attractions unless you have friends. There is a metro train station right off campus though. And the Claremonts try to hold a lot of events on campus.Scripps will give you a lot of individual attention and mentorship from their profs and administration. You can get into any class you want. It is seamless to take classes at the other colleges and I know students who did the major in another. At UC you may struggle to get the classes sometimes until you are in your major. The classes will be much larger in the intro courses and gen eds.I’d probably pick Scripps for my daughter although UCSD is tempting, she did get an admit there too but picked a private. Privates have a lot of hidden perks. And Scripps is all about development of young women into leaders. You get the best of both worlds with Scripps/Mudd.But don’t hesitate to go wherever you are feeling it and don’t worry about name of school in these cases you can’t go wrong, imo.

Is San Diego State University good for psychology?

In my humble opinion, I believe SDSU can be a good choice for a psychology BA. It certainly isn’t what the university is known for but my experience was both challenging and fulfilling. Like anything else, you get what you put into it. Along with taking classes related to the major, you should be networking with the professors and building those relationships. As I mention to anybody interesting in higher learning, be sure to balance your college experience. It is not wise to spend your 4–5+ years partying nonstop…yet, it isn’t very productive spending your time secluded and buried in your books. Build relationships with everyone from professors to grad students/TAs to students. These are the connections you’ll need when it comes to recommendation letters and job references, as well as lifelong friends.

Which cal states have a good psychology program?

All Cal States have great psychology programs. I suggest choosing the one that's closest to you, or if you wanna leave the house, a Cal State far from you. Below, I provided all the Cal State's and all over their psychology websites. Remember, any one you choose will be great. You said you wanna transfer to a UC anyways, so it doesn't really matter which on you choose. None are really "better" than the others. They are all "good." And here they are...

UC Merced or San Francisco State University?

You can study psychology at either and both offer study abroad programs. What is more important is whether you want to live and go to school in a huge school major city on the coast or a small school in a small city in the central valley. The weather, culture, campus culture, activities, costs, transportation, class size, housing, crime and everything else are going to be very different between these two schools.

Select the school that fits you as a person and student. it will be home 9 months a year for 3 1/2 years.

Dietetics at San Francisco State University?

I couldn't find much info about the average GPA (SF State website, or through google/bing), only that the program is impacted and you need to be applying as an upper division transfer with at least a 2.0 to be eligible for consideration. Obviously, the higher your GPA is, the more you help your case. It sounds like you are a transfer student (or else you wouldn't be talking about prereqs) so hopefully you have a decent GPA and at least 60 transferable units finished.

If you are a CA resident, SF State is not a bad place for that major and the cost is about the same as other CSUs. You aren't doing political science, so many professors will stick to the subject and not let some completely separate field hijack the entire class. Balanced learning is keeping an open mind and do this objective learning thing

I am Stuck between CAL STATE FUllerton and San Francisco State.?

Well according to US News and World Report rankings, Fullerton ranks higher as a regional university (#37) than SFSU (#51). In terms of top public schools in the western US that offer up to masters degrees, CSUF is #10 with SFSU ranked #17. Neither school is identified as having a reputable psychology program, although both undergrad business programs are nationally ranked with CSUF coming in at #135 and SFSU coming in at #159 ahead of schools such as Cal Poly Pomona, Arkansas and Old Dominion.

Aside from the numbers, both are good schools. CSUF may have more going on socially on campus because its larger, has div 1 sports programs and because students are a captive audience on campus. Nothing against Orange County, but it doesn't exactly hold a candle to San Francisco in terms of night life. SFSU on the other hand is more of a commuter campus and as such the social scene isn't all that lively, not to say it doesn't exist, its just not to the level at CSUF.
