Does Windows 2000 Sp4 Support Dual Core Processors

How do you tell if a processor is quad core or dual core?

Only for windows:open task managergo to performanceclick on Cpu tabsee the details of no. of actual cores and logical processor is given as shown in image belowAnd most of time seller sells us dual core processor as a quad core processor just showing the below image. So be AWARE !!!

I am buying a surface pro 4. What is better the m3 processor or i5? I am not a gamer if that makes a difference.

Intel has been selling two main ranges of processors: one optimized for performance (Core) and the other optimized for battery life and price (Atom). The Core M was the first 'bridge' processor and falls between the two ranges. That is to say: it's a performance design optimized for long battery life. Most laptop processors run at a TDP of 15W to 45W, and the Core M brought that down to around 4.5W. This enabled fanless designs, though the processor will still be throttled if it's worked hard enough to get hot.So, the Core m3 will be slower than a Core i3 but it will run cooler and should offer better battery life. (Or the same life with a smaller battery, which is what often happens.)The Core i3 is the least powerful of the Core iX range so there's probably not that much of a trade-off in terms of reduced performance (ie Core m3 vs i3). The Core i5 is more powerful than the Core i3 and so, in comparison, you will sacrifice much more performance.A Core m3 chip runs at roughly the same speed as an Intel Celeron 1020E The major difference is that the m3 has a TDP of 5W whereas the Celeron is 35W. You couldn't use it in an ultrathin laptop or tablet: it gets too hot. However, the name of the game nowadays isn't performance, it's performance per Watt.My advice is to compare the available processors against the CPU you use now to see if it is faster, and by how much. You could also compare them at CPU Boss.

When does the extended support for Windows 2000 SP4 end?

Microsoft's site says:

Support ends 24 months after the next service pack releases or at the end of the product's support lifecycle, whichever comes first.

Can someone help me and tell me when the extended support for Windows 2000 SP4 expires or expired.

Thanks

Upgrade from windows 2000 professional to windows xp?

To the guy that said you can't buy xp anymore, he's wrong i saw it at walmart.

We can't answer this unless you give us the computers specs. what kind of processor does it have and how much ram are the main things we'd have to look at. You'd have to buy xp which is a little expensive ($200 i think maybe less). You can get it online for free, but that's illegal. Upgrading to windows xp would make the computer a little slower because xp has higher system requirements. The minimum requirements for xp are pretty low: 300MHz processor with 128 mb of ram. So if the computer meets that, you can install it. Xp and windows 2000 are somewhat the same. Windows 2000 just doesn't look as nice and it has lower requirements. Instead of installing xp, you might consider just installing service pack 4 for windows 2000 (free download):

How can I use android usb tethering in Windows xp sp3 to connect computer to Internet via phone's data connection?

Here is how to do it1. Plug in your phone, enable USB tethering on your phone, and cancel any hardware wizards that pop up on your computer.2. On your computer, open up your device manager (Start->run->devmgmt.msc)Find your phone in "Other devices"3. Once you've found it, double click it and switch to the details tab.4. Now this is where some of you will get lost, you need to open up the tetherxp.inf file with your favorite code editor (Start->Run->Wordpad). Create a new line below "[AndroidDevices.NT.5.1]" containing your Device Instance Id.5. Now you are ready to test. Save the modified tetherxp.inf somewhere, I'm using "C:\temp\tetherxp.inf" as you can see in step 4, then switch to the "General" tab of the device properties, and click "Reinstall Driver...". Select "Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)", and click next.6. Click "Search for the best driver in these locations.", and select the folder in which you saved your modified "tetherxp.inf" file.7. Now you should see a new Local Area Network connection appear in your network connections, and it'll give you Internet access! That is, assuming your phone has Internet access.

Windows 2000 on Dell Inspiron 1525?

I need to run a stable OS. I believe Windows 2000 is still the most stable Windows. I've used Ubuntu. Although I'm quite computer savvy I cannot bother being a slave of technology learning Linux which is still very much for geeks. Ideally, I would have had Mac OS X.

Do you know if everything will work (webcam, HDMI, etc.) as it should running Windows 2000 on a Dell Inspiron 1525? I'm thinking of Windows 2000 Professional SP4.

Thanks in advance!
