Dose Wifix Manager Change Phone Settings Or Router Settings

Netgear Router " 192.168.1.x is managing this device"?

If you see this message, you will need to manually change your computer's IP address to match that one, or find a computer on the network that has that local IP address in order to manage the router, or wait a while for the router to eventually log the computer out on it's own.

In the future to avoid this problem, any time you go into the router's setup page to change any settings, make sure you click the logout or log off link located on any page you're viewing before you close the router's website. Only one computer at a time can manage the router at any given time.

I accidentally put my wifi router security setting to WEP and don't know the password.?

Well as you can't wirelessly get connected to the router because you locked yourself out, get an ethernet cable and connect your aunt's laptop to the router. You should be able to log in to the router's configuration page (usually http://192.168.1.1) the same way you did to change the encryption settings. Wired connections don't require WEP or WPA or whatsoever. You only need to key in the router's user and password to get in to the configuration page. I suppose you know what they are as you were able to get in to it before.

If you forgot that too, you need to reset the router to defaults by sticking a pin or paperclip at a hole behind the router. Hold it for about 15 secs until the power turns off and back on. This will erase all your previous settings. After resetting, go to the router's configuration page and key in the defaults:

By the way, instead of WEP use WPA2 Personal which is more secure.

Does anyone know what settings are correct for the realtek wifi adapter RTL8188EE 802.11 b/n/g?

i have reinstalled the adapter. just got a new wireless modem from my wifi provider this week. and also did a computer refresh. and i still am not getting internet anywhere in my home except the room where the modem is. i also updated the family controller today. another thing i have notice is this, i used to have a list of available network from neighboring homes and none of them show up anymore. Only mine appears on that list. not important to me but i think that says something is amiss. any help would be greatly appreciated. i certainly am open to the fact that i may have messed up some settings trying to "fix this issue myself. also i dont know much about : homegroups etc so if there are settings there that could be causing an issue....i may have changed something there as well. NOTE. when i go into AVANCED SETTINGS in the DIVICE MANAGER>NETWORK ADAPTERS> REALTEK WIFI ADAPT>ADVANCED SETTINGS> there are a bunch of settings to choose from and the box just says DISABLED ( for any of those settings) when i chose the first one and enabled it..it made NO difference with the problem that im having. i assume when i update the driver the settings are set automatically to what they should be???? thanks again.

How do I limit wifi usage on an Android phone?

I see no reason as to why you would want to restrict his data usage. Believe me, it won't work. He will find a loop hole and bypass your restriction. Instead it is better to make your son understand your concern and what you want from him instead of tying him up with an invisible leash. And as far as watching videos on YouTube go make him watch thnewboston or Khan Academy videos so that he can learn rather than wind away his time on other futile things. And if even after reading through all this, you're set to restrict him go to your router's setup page at 192.168.1.1 from a browser.

It says "split SSID" on my router settings. What is it? Should I enable it?

All it is asking is if you want to have two separate SSIDs one at 2.4ghz and the other at 5ghz.I would say yes split them. Connect your older devices to the 2.4ghz if that is all they can do. For the newer devices use the 5ghz SSID, on 802.11ac. Even if you don’t have any old devices that can only use 2.4ghz, you will probably have guests that want to use your internet from time to time.2.4ghz is good or older devices and has good range but the frequency is usually a bit crowded and is subject to interference from cordless phones, baby monitors and similar.5ghz is good for newer devices with 802.11ac compatibility. It is less subject to interference and the frequency is less crowded. The main drawback is that it does not have a great range and does not penetrate solid object very well.802.11ac is a newish high speed wireless standard that only works on 5ghz radios.

Why does my Wifi work but my Ethernet doesn't work?? Att uverse?

No router configuration needed for Ethernet, It should work when you plug it in.

This is assuming you have not changed the computer TCP/IP settings for the Ethernet adapter from the default of automatic IP addressing via DHCP.

Most likely you have a bad cable or your Ethernet adapter in your computer is disabled or needs the proper drivers.

If you are using a laptop, many systems disable the Ethernet adapter by default while running on battery power.

Check device manager, and look under "network adapters" for LAN adapter.

Good Luck...
