How old is Captain Jack Sparrow?(Pirates of the Caribbean character)

Let’s do a bit of approximation. We’ll start by assuming that Jack became captain of the pearl at around 18, to coincide with Dead Men Tell No Tales canon. When he became captain, the EITC burnt the ship to the ground not long after, prompting Jack to summon Davy Jones. 10 years later Jones hunts for Jack - so we can assume Jack was around 28 in Dead Mans Chest. Dead Mans Chest takes place a year after Curse of the Black Pearl, so we’ll assume he was 27 at that time. At Worlds End takes place basically immediately after, so let’s say he’s 29 during that. Elizabeth becomes pregnant with little Henry Turner after, and he is seen to be 10ish at the end of at worlds end, and so Jack would’ve been 38 at the time. Dead Men Tell No Tales takes place very soon after, let’s say by 3 years. So Jack was around 41 at the start of DMTNT. about 10 years after this, the main plot occurs, wherein Jack would be about 51. If the Gilloutine was popularised in the 1790’s, we can assume Jack was born around 1740.Of course, On Stranger Tides ruins this theory but for that to be canon it would mean Jack was around 120 in DMTNT so nah.

Is moving to London a bad idea for me?

It's certainly not the case that London is very polluted compared to other big cities, or even other Western cities. Likewise, Britain is not very polluted - other answerers have pointed you in the right direction on that. The UK, and London, do get quite a lot of rain, but nothing like the prevailing relative humidity of, say, the Carribean/Florida - comparing us to New York would be about right. You don't tell us in what way you are allergic, which does make it difficult to give a specific response.  I can, however, give you the personal experience of my daughter, who is 13 now, and is both very asthmatic (Hospitalised several times for more than one day) and highly allergic to a variety of things (Peanuts, peas, strawberries, cats, dogs). She has lived in London most of her life, and is absolutely fine and doesn't notice pollution. However, when we go to her Grandparents in the North-East of Scotland, she does immediately find breathing easier...not that she finds it 'hard' normally, but she notices the difference. To that, must be added; (1) we have 3 cats (Which the doctors are horrified about), who don't go on holiday, and (2) even I notice the freshness of the air on the Scottish coast.I'd say the best advice has already been give - come and stay for a week or two, and see how it goes. London has a *lot* to offer, and it would be a shame not to experience it at all. If you're from the US, and can't easily come visit here, try New York, which has (Slightly) worse pollution - http://www.numbeo.com/pollution/... . I want to say that if you can make it there, you can make it anywhere, but it wouldn't be totally true!

How long did it take to sail by ship from France to America in the eighteenth century?

I would guess these journeys would have been 5–12 weeks from France to northern U.S. ports. It could be longer in unfavorable conditions and would depend on the route. The Ocean Crossing and Arrival in Philadelphia writes about trips from Rotterdam and mentions the ideal ocean passage was 6 weeks. I think that would cover the distance from ports in the English channel to Philadelphia so a journey from France would be similar.18th century sailing times between the English Channel and the Coast of America: How long did it take? mentions a time of between 25–30 days going from New York to the English channel. (The trip East to Europe was faster because of the prevailing winds.) This site also suggest checking records from Lloyd's List published during that period - Lloyds List. You might also look for ship records on genealogy sites to see if you can find the start and end dates of the ships’ crossings. How long did it take to get across the Atlantic in the 1700s? suggests 8–12 weeks.According to Mayflower - Wikipedia the Mayflower took just over 8 weeks from England to America. (September 6 - November 9, 1620). The sailors would have been more familiar with the journey by the 1700’s but it was still a long journey.A modern sailboat can make it in much less time than the ships they used in the 1700’s.Best wishes for your book!

Is Florida a part of the Caribbean?

No. The “Caribbean” refers to either the Caribbean Sea which is the area of ocean between Florida and South America, or the many islands within that Sea:By definition, a land mass connected to the continents is NOT part of the “Caribbean”, though some come pretty close (Trinidad and Tobago).

How long does it take to sail across the Atlantic?

It depends greatly on which way you want to cross. But the East to west route is the most "easy" way, though the longest. First sailing down to the canaries and then almost to the cape verdes until you get in the tradewinds. (20 degrees N) From there it's a downwind run until caribbean. You want to avoid the summertime because of the high risk of hurricanes. So leaving in December/January is most  preferable, but later is possible too off course. My record with a big ketch is 15,5 days from Gran Canaria to Antigua. But I would say 18-20 days is a reasonable judgement.  Off course you will have to sail down to the canary islands first. But that was not the question.Sailing from the caribbean back to the Med or Europe is a different story. leaving for Europe will likely be end of April/May/June/July, just before the hurricane season starts. First you will have to clear the easterly tradewinds by going North or even northwest. From there it's a matter of timing, judgement and experience. If you manage to stay south of a nice depression coming from the eastern US seaboard you can sort of hitch hike with multiple of these systems towards the Azores. This off course is a lot less "dependable" then the easterly trade wind area. From Sint Martin it's about 14-18 days to Azores if you are lucky, but it could easily take a week longer if you are unlucky with the wind. If you leave in March or April it's really depending on how much you want to risk. Going above the 30 degrees N before 40 degrees W you will have a lot more chance getting into high winds which are very common in the North Atlantic. This is for a low powered sail yacht really not an option. From the Azores you can time the departure, but from there it depends where you are going. It's about a 7 day sail to Portugal Spain, and 4-7 days longer towards the English channel.

Are there any parts of the Indian Ocean where the waters are pretty much the same color as like Hawaii or in?

Try looking at pictures of the Seychelles Islands. The water is beautiful and looks like Tahiti and Hawaii. Also try areas off of the east coast of Africa.

What is a gateway airport?

Gateways airports are airports that have and serve a lot of international flights. For Example LAX or SFO would be gateway airport to the west coast and JFK would be for the east coast. This would be there first stop before travel on to other airports.

Where is a good place to go on holiday?

My family and I are planning a holiday next year but we don't know where to go. We would like somewhere abroad and with things to do but not where you spend all day running round like a headless chicken. Preferably not too expensive as we went to Florida earlier this year, hot weather IS required :D Any suggestions?!?!
