Can I highlight my hair, after dying it in the same day?

Technically…yes you can.If you watch professional hair dye videos (like I do [Guy Tang is my favorite!]) they will often dye the hair and then highlight directly after. However, they usually have much more training and better products than can usually be obtained at home. Therefore, I personally wouldn’t suggest that. Whenever I double process my hair, I’ll dye it, wait a week or so (and deep condition plenty) and then highlight it.Nonetheless, if you want to try it in the same day, pay attention to your hair. If it starts, y’know, melting or breaking…maybe stop. In all seriousness, do your research and hopefully you’ll be fine.Good luck! :)

Highlighting cap?

I just bought an at-home highlighting kit. It comes with a cap and a hook to pull the hair through, but I'm so afraid I'll do it wrong! Do I brush my hair back before I put the cap on or do I leave it combed like it always is?

My hair is a medium to dark brown. It is layered and about chin-length, parted to the side. I also have bangs, which are also parted. In the end, I want bold, dramatic blonde highlights. How do I achieve this look?

What are the highlights of the iron age ?

Iron Age
period in the development of industry that begins with the general use of iron and continues into modern times. In Asia, Egypt, and Europe it was preceded by the Bronze Age. It did not begin in the Americas until the coming of the Europeans. Iron beads were worn in Egypt as early as 4000 , but these were of meteoric iron, evidently shaped by the rubbing process used in shaping implements of stone. The oldest known article of iron shaped by hammering is a dagger found in Egypt that was made before 1350 This dagger is believed not to have been made in Egypt but to be of Hittite workmanship. The use of smelted iron ornaments and ceremonial weapons became common during the period extending from 1900 to 1400 About this time, the invention of tempering (see forging) was made by the Chalybes of the Hittite empire. It is possible that the Hittite kings kept ironworking techniques secret and restricted export of iron weapons. After the downfall of the Hittite empire in 1200 , the great waves of migrants spreading through S Europe and the Middle East insured the rapid transmission of iron technology. In Europe knowledge of iron smelting was acquired in Greece and the Balkans, and somewhat later in N Italy (see Etruscan civilization; Villanovan culture) and central Europe. The Early Iron Age in central Europe, dating from c.800 to c.500 , is known as the Hallstatt period. Celtic migrations, beginning in the 5th cent. , spread the use of iron into W Europe and to the British Isles. The Late Iron Age in Europe, which is dated from this period, is called La Tène. The casting of iron did not become technically useful until the Industrial Revolution. The people of the Iron Age developed the basic economic innovations of the Bronze Age and laid the foundations for feudal organization. They utilized the crops and domesticated animals introduced earlier from the Middle East. Ox-drawn plows and wheeled vehicles acquired a new importance and changed the agricultural patterns. For the first time humans were able to exploit efficiently the temperate forests. Villages were fortified, warfare was conducted on horseback and in horse-drawn chariots, and alphabetic writing based on the Phoenician script became widespread. Distinctive art styles in metal, pottery, and stone characterized many Iron Age cultures.

Is it safe putting highlights on my hair even during pregnancy?

Not much is known about the safety of hair dyes in pregnancy. It's likely that when you apply hair dye, a very small amount is absorbed into your body. But it isn't clear how much, if any, of these chemicals may reach the fetus.

Some recent studies suggest an association between dying your hair when pregnant and some childhood cancers, but the evidence is weak.

Talk to your obstetrician about any hair color treatments you may be planning. He or she may advise you to use toxin-free hair dye or to postpone any chemical processes involving your hair until at least after your first trimester.

To minimize the amount of hair dye that may be absorbed through your skin, the Food and Drug Administration offers these recommendations:

- Don't leave dye on your hair any longer than needed.
- Rinse your scalp thoroughly with water after use of hair dye.
- Wear gloves when applying hair dye.

Even if your obstetrician says it's safe, you may want to postpone coloring your hair during pregnancy for cosmetic reasons. Hormonal changes can cause your hair to react differently when you're pregnant, and can leave you with an unexpected color.

How do I highlight and dye my hair at the same time?

That is exactly how I do two colours of dye on my hair.
