Electric Drumset And Garageband

How to record drums using garageband with triggers?

so i record in my basement. its not your ordinary garage/bad quality sounding recordings. they are really good quality guitars/vocals/bass/sampling, etc but the drums are an issue. i do not want to mic my set (except for the cymbals of course). so what exactly do i need to record my drums into an imac, using garageband as the program? my set is a snare, kick, rack tom, floor tom, 2 crash, high hat and ride. so id get 4 mics and 4 triggers. but then i think i would need an 8 input interface i'm guessing? and that goes into a MIDI in my imac? i honestly have no idea so any information/help possible would be greatly appreciated. i am so serious in my recordings and really need this to "put that cherry on top" if you know what i mean.

thank you. tell me everything i need and how to do it/set it up

How can I make metal music in garageband without an actual band?

I did try to do the similar thing but I failed at every attempt. The only hope I had was to compose music using virtual instruments in a clean tone and make it come out through a distorted channel but that messed up the whole thing, thanks to those horrible noises.I made it work, similarly like Michael had written in his answer. I was desperate to take these riffs off my chest. All the stuff that I used are Garage band(iphone 5s), i rig interface(it’s quite cheap, you can buy one easily), guitar rig 5 software in my laptop, a focusrite 2i2 scarlett and ezdrummer2 virtual drum software(it’s comes quite handy to get a demo together quickly, trust me on this one). And appropriate cables for connecting them, and fd course an electric guitar, an Epiphone SG with open coil pickups.DRUM TRACK: use the ezdrummer2 and compose your drum track and adjust the same tempo in Garage band as you used in the ezdrummer2 and record it directly via irig interface in your I phone.( just hit the red button)Bass track: I played bass with my electric guitar with a bass preset on the guitar rig 5, it’s not exactly like a real bass but use just the top four string E-A-D-G, but don’t use a pick, use your fingers. And record bass in a similar way.Guitars: Same again, record guitars over it.And vocals similarly if you want to.Demo_candies and strawberries (Go to 4:50 directly if you want to take a look just at the distortion) I put together a few pieces and made a demo, though it’s incomplete you can take a look to see the sound and other stuff. You can make it sound much better by taking care of the time signatures and stuff, I was just being lazy and messing around.I tried using the in-app amps but nah they didn’t sound like I wanted to. But don’t hesitate to make a double layer of distortion if you want it heavy.I know that this is not the kind of answer you were expecting but you can find something helpful.Peace!

How do i use downloaded drum kits on garage band?

Strings In Garageband are Delayed?

I am running Garageband with OS X Yosemite in MacBook Air 2014. I have connected my Yamaha Clavinova to the Macbook via a MIDI to USB cable and record using the software instruments as I play normally from my electric piano. The problem is when I select "Strings ensemble" or "smart strings" it seems like they can't synchronise and the sound is late, like i'm using a delay effect. Thus they are completely useless.

Any help available?
Thanks in advance

Is a sledge hammer or electric guitar the better tool to use?

I want to destroy a drum kit, and I was wondering if the sledge hammer (as in top video) or the electric guitar (bottom video) would be the better tool to use.
