Elliptical Stride Length

Distance on an Elliptical with a 14" stride?

It's off. That seems like 2 miles. Download Nike + GPS if you have an iPhone and wear it while you work out and then you can see what 1 mile is and so on.

About how many miles are in 3,500 steps/strides on an elliptical?

I burn 1000 calories on on my elliptical averaging about 3,200-3,500steps a day. I am wondering about how many miles per day that is. Or if there is any real reasonable why to figure out. I am 5'10 190 pound male if that changes anything

I have a ProForm Elliptical Machine, how do I adjust the stride length?

Look on the pedals....there should be a knob on each one. Turn the knob until it loosens, then push/pull the pedal until you've got it where you want it.

Length of an elliptical helix... URGENT HELP!!!?

the i, j coordinates traverse a circle in the plane of radius 5. it takes t = 2 to complete a circle.
the z coordinates tell us that t = 3/5 is the time tinerval.
so the x-y contribution is 3/5 1/2 10pi = 3pi
while the z contribution is 3/5
imagine straightening the helical curve into a straight line in the x/y plane. then we have a right triangle whose legs are 3pi and 3/5. so the length is sqrt(9pi^2 + 9/25)

I'm too short for my elliptical machine's stride - how do I adjust it?

Distance measurement on elliptical?

I think my distance on the elliptical measures by revolutions per minute. I ran about 600 distance revolutions in 8 minutes. The stride length is 18 inches, or about 0.5m, and if i multiply that by how many strides I take (600 revolutions x 2 steps for each foot) 1200, then that means i only ran 600m then in 8 minutes. I'm very baffled, because I can run one mile in under 6 minutes!!

What is my distance on this elliptical trainer?

If a 'revolution' is 1 stride, then you've done:

1200 revolutions * 18 inches/revolution = 21600 inches

21600 inches * (1 foot / 12 inches) * (1 mile / 5280 feet)

= 0.34 miles or about 1/3 of a mile...

1200 rev. / 50 rev. = (1/3)miles / x miles

x = 0.014204545 miles/ minute

0.014204545 (miles/ minute) * (60 min. / hr)

= 0.85 (miles / hour)

What is the best compact elliptical machine?

Schwinn 430 is a great buy in terms of Space, Cost and Tracking your Workout. When searching for that perfect elliptical trainer to fit your small space, it’s a good idea to consider a few things other than the size , like the weight capacity, warranty, and flywheel weight. All of these components make the elliptical either durable, sturdy, and quiet, or cheap, rickety, and loud. The heavier the flywheel, the smoother the ride, and quieter the operation, so a heavier flywheel is great for apartment use where noise is definitely an issue. The Schwinn 430 Elliptical machine has a high speed and high inertia, weighted flywheel. This makes the motion smooth. Additionally, it has an adjustable 3-speed fan and a water bottle holder. When assembled the Schwinn 430 has a 63.2 inches in height, 28.2 inches in width and 70 inches in length.
