Errors In New Yahoo Organization By Conversation Is There Any Way To Go Back To Seeing Each Email

How do I print with the new Yahoo Mail. The print button disappeared?

SO FAR THE MOST HELPFUL INSTRUCTIONS WAS FROM JANIE, not Yahoo mail or Yahoo Help! I can't believe they did this! Under the drop down menu that Trooper63 mentioned, that's in the OLD system when Action used to include PRINT function. Now, it just shows whether you want to classify it as read or unread. What Janie says is best. Go to the BOTTOM of the EMAIL where you see all those arrows to forward, reply, or reply all, and under MORE, is the drop down for the PRINT. What a lousy place to put it, when it SHOULD HAVE BEEN KEPT in ACTION, like before the recent changes! Also, I don't care for the GMAIL-esque convoluted emails, b/c you can easily loose the thread of what's being said, b/c it's all not as neatly organized as it used to be, and it is such a bad move for YAHOO to think we like these kinds of emails. It's not MODERN, it's ridiculous! OK, sorry, had to vent a little in my disappointment in what Yahoo just did to it's customers. If we wanted Gmail, we'd already be in GMAIL getting confusing emails threads!

What went wrong with Yahoo? It was once worth almost $125 billion, but today sold to Verizon for $5 billion.

There is no one single reason that Yahoo "went wrong", which I assume means that they aren't seen as one of the top couple of internet companies like they once were. There are product reasons, strategic reasons, and cultural reasons. Some top of mind examples though:Focusing so much for years on Panama (Google Adwords competitor) and search in general, when they ended up losing to Google and eventually outsourcing this to Microsoft.Becoming too unfocused. Yahoo tried to do everything and triggered the famous Peanut Butter Manifesto from Brad Garlinghouse that summarized this problem well. The shift from a desktop world where everyone used home pages to a mobile and social world. Yahoo failed to build their own successful mobile and social products or to acquire any. Yahoo got too bloated, and nobody would ever make the cuts needed to both headcount and its products/properties.Buying Flickr, then letting it languish. Buying Flickr for $35 million was a bargain when you see how huge social photos are today. They could have turned Flickr into the next Facebook or Instagram and instead didn't invest properly in it.Failing to acquire Google and then Facebook. Yahoo had opportunities to buy both of these companies when it was clear they were going to be big successes and instead wouldn't pay what was needed. For example, they had a deal to buy Facebook for $1.1 billion pretty much accepted, then Yahoo's earnings came out and the value of the deal dropped to 800M due to stock compensation and Zuckerberg balked when Yahoo wouldn't change the deal to put the price back up. Think about the value of Facebook today and that Yahoo didn't acquire them over a $300M difference.Leadership changes. Looking at companies like Google and Facebook you'll see that the same leadership has essentially been in place the whole time. Yahoo has had a shifting cast of CEOs and executive teams that has never provided a longer term vision and execution path to take shape.Acceptance of lower quality employees. By the time I worked at Yahoo from 2007-2010, there were still a ton of great A-quality people there, but there were also a lot of B or C-quality people who were not outstanding at their work. This starts to eat away at the company and make the A-players go work elsewhere. There are more reasons, but these provide a good summary...

Can you track the physical location from which an email was sent to you?

There are basically two steps involved in the process of tracking an email: find the IP address in the email header section and then look up the location of the IP address. It’s worth noting that you usually won’t be able to get the exact location of the actual person who sent the email. For example, if someone in Germany sends you an email using Gmail, the last IP address in the header section will probably be the public IP address assigned to that user from the ISP, which will give you the location of the user ranging from within a mile all the way to the city or region level. The reason for the wide range is that the IP address that an ISP assigns to a particular user is normally dynamic. This means that the IP address they had when the email was sent may now be assigned to a different user in the region. This is the main reason why you might get a wide geographic area when looking up the location of the IP address. However, depending on what device people are using to send emails when using Gmail or another online email service, the last IP address might just be the IP address of Google or Yahoo or Hotmail servers, so keep that in mind too.Another scenario where you might not get any useful info is if the email was sent from a server on a hosting company data center. For example, whenever I get an email from Boxee, the originating IP address is from SoftLayer, which is a big server hosting company. That’s because the email was probably created and sent from the server itself.Find the IP Address for an Email in GMail, Yahoo Mail, and OutlookLet’s go ahead and take a look at how you would find the IP address in the email header for Google, Yahoo and Outlook since those are the most popular email clients. If you’re using a different email client, just Google how to view email header info. You can do this using one of these sites:Email Lookup at VerisEmail Search, Reverse Email Lookup, Find IP Address by EmailJust enter the email address in the empty box and follow the steps.Have a nice day

What are some good alternatives to Yahoo's Chat Rooms now that they are shutting them down?

I have been chatting in yahoo rooms since they were java based…I have met a wide variety of great people through this network..yahoo has always been my choice when it comes to email..messenger..games..even used yahoo home page for years..but as sad as it may sound, if yahoo decides to pull the plug on chat , i will discontinue use of any yahoo product, web apps,i will also be changing email providers..they are making a big mistake..and they will see that in the long run..they will lose alot their loyal customers like myself.and they will see a huge decline in “premium’ account holders.people rely on these chat services more than these idiots realize obviously..yahoo chat is one of the original social networks for me, and many others. And the bots and Spam is no excuse,.to pull the plug.yahoo has the power, and know how,to hire the top notch engineers and programmers to find and fix the bugs, spam,etc..create different logins protocols etc..they chose not to..in my opinion they are admitting defeat to the scammers booters and thugs..that is just my 2 cents..I am very disappointed, and upset to hear yahoo’s decision to close down chatrooms. Plain and simple they just aren’t making enough revenue off it.. SCREW YOU YAHOO, I WILL MISS YOU..:(

Can I uninstall Yahoo mail & reinstall it again? Have loading problems .?

Yahoo is a web site ----the mail is a page of that site.
It isn't even installed on your computer.
You can't uninstall what's NOT there----nor can you install what's NOT loadable.

The Ytoolbars and Ymessenger are both "programs", so you can download them-----but Yahoo and Yahoo Mail are still web sites.

I can't log out of yahoo mail?

Lately, whenever I try to log out of yahoo mail I am unable to. When I just go to the normal yahoo screen I can log out with no problem so I just have to do that every time. This happens to me on more than one yahoo account and on all computers I use so I know it's not my account or computer. It's not a big deal since I can just log out from the regular screen but has anyone else experienced this and does anyone else know why it's happening?

Why does Yahoo mail suck so bad now?

Current working work-around (as of 9pm Eastern 10.12.2013)
Compliments of "Samy" (http://www.thetechtip.com/the-new-yahoo-mail-sucks/)

"Here's the tip of the day to get back the previous version of yahoo mail:

Once you are logged, you would have an url similar to the following:

https://####.mail.yahoo.com/neo/launch?.rand=#####
(the ## are different for each users and sessions)

If you replace 'launch? ..', by 'search' as follow:

https://####.mail.yahoo.com/neo/search"
(replace everything after ".../neo/" with just "search")

"You should get the older, working version."

Downside: (1) you have to do this every time you log in;
(2) this is probably only a temporary loophole that will get closed when found.

But for the short-term (while you perhaps switch to another email provider) -
Hope that helps!

How do I delete the Smart Folder as well as the Email from contacts folder in my yahoo mail?

I just noticed the same thing and chatted to a Yahoo agent about it, here is the script of the chat. hope this helps...

Phoebe: yes its a folder that I dont need. it basically shows some of the same mails in my inbox,
Nikki: Thanks for waiting.
Nikki: Smart folder is a new default folder created by Yahoo! Mail that gives you an option to view emails came from your Contacts and not from outside Contacts. Unfortunately, this feature cannot be remove nor disable.
Phoebe: why isnt that option available?
Phoebe: i mean i already have so many folders and I do not need another one just repeating some of the mails in my inbox
Nikki: The feature or functionality that you're describing is not currently available.
Nikki: However, our Engineering and Marketing teams want to hear from you about what you would like to see enhanced in Yahoo! Mail.
Phoebe: i do understand the purpose... to help narrow it down for emails from contacts but I think users should have a say in whether they want to use it or not
Nikki: The best way to send us your input is by submitting a feedback form.
Phoebe: ok where do i do that?
Nikki: Here's the URL:
Nikki: http://feedback.mail.yahoo.com/betafeedback_mailbeta
Nikki: In the meantime, is there anything else that I can assist you with?
Phoebe: nope thatd be all.
Phoebe: thanks
Phoebe: bye bye
Nikki: Allow me to give you a recap of our conversation.
Nikki: Just to recap, the feature you requested was currently not available but I advice you to fill out the Feedback form in order to inform our Engineers about this.
Nikki: Thank you for using Yahoo! Mail. If you have any other questions, please feel free to come back and chat with us at any time and to end this chat, please click the "END CHAT" button on the top right of the chat window.
Nikki: I wish all the customers were like you because you’re a cut above the rest.
Nikki: Goodbye and you have a great one.
