Everytime I Eat Bread My Throat Gets All Tight And Sometimes I Choke

Feels like something in throat?

this may sound nasty but i have to ask. i am pregnant and thanks to morning (or night) sickness about an hour ago i "got sick" three times. After the first time it felt as though there was a piece of something stuck in my throat but the feeling hasn't gone away. I tried eating bread and drinking but its still there. Is it poss there is really something in my throat or is it just irritated? every time i swallow it feels like i may throw up again because of the sensation. please help.

Why My throats feels tight sometimes.?

Hi there i'm so Professional but don't take my advice so seriously. But I can help :D !
The tightness in your throat is due to the 'thing' poking you.
I do recommend you see a Specialist on your throat as soon as you can. Normally you'll need to do some internet surfing of the symptoms you're having before you see the specialist so then if something does come up during your research print it out and bring it with you. Show him if he then says there's nothing wrong.
I know how it feels when medical experts can't give you the help they're supposed too.
It's very frustrating but you need to understand this will be a slow process getting a diagnosis.
Also you didn't mention your age. So i'm quite unsure if this is a very serious problem for you.
I Honestly think there might be a tuma or something else in there, If they picked up an inflammation on the cameras then there must be something beneath that. There's no way that you have a throat infection because I've had those a lot and had to take Amoxicillin and it went away quickly.
So see a specialist if they have no hope AGAIN.
Do some research with your symptoms and keep searching sometimes you'll have to go to the next town to find someone who'll understand you might have a rare genetic disease that it's very hard for doctors to diagnose you. The doctors might be picking up on something but don't have the clearence for the disagnosis. Good luck and I hope i've helped you! <3

(EDIT:1)
I also think you should protest for a CAT scan, and some blood tests normally they'll find something when you do those. If nothing picks up go somewhere else because different doctors will find different things and won't look hard enough.

If you take a small pill without water and it gets stuck in your throat, will saliva eventually dissolve it or can it actually get stuck for hours (e.g. 14 hours) and lose its effectiveness?

I'm going to leave my answer here, because about an hour ago I took a small 10mg pill and I just had this happen to me. It lodged itself in my throat and would not move. I could breath etc, wasn't choking, but I felt it sitting there. I scoured Quora trying to find help, didn't find much. So here's what I did to unlodge the pill...the exact order:1. I drank tons of water, couple of water bottles...Damn thing didn't move. 2. I ate food, hoping to push it down...again, didn't move.3. While standing, I tilted my head back and let the water go towards the back of my throat before swallowing...this moved the pill around.4. The pill moved while in my throat, but didn't come up or down...it landed near my gag reflex. I then vomited out all the contents of my stomach...Damn pill still didn't move!!! Can you believe that?!?!5. Laid down on the floor with a mouth full of water and then swallowed it. Laying on the floor will relax the throat muscles and open up the parts of the throat where pills can get stuck. (Some ppl have small crevices and pills will tend to get lodged there).6. I took another pill, thinking it would push the first pill down. Nope, still felt it.7. I drank Coke. Figured the acidity would help the pill to dissolve and slide down. I think this worked somewhat. It seemed to get softer, but still didn't move.8. I started drinking hot liquids (tea).Ok, so I don't know what actually worked, but the thing has either dissolved and gone down or I was able to swallow it. I think it's either one or some combination of the last 4 things I tried. That thing was lodged in tight. I hope my experience can help someone else, because I didn't find a lot of help on here when I looked.

Gluten: If your throat fills with mucous and sometimes closes, does that mean you're allergic to what you're eating?

Have you ever been tested for a gluten intolerance or even Celiac disease? The gut and the sinuses are pretty closely related, and food intolerances can manifest as sinus symptoms, including congestion and increased mucus production. Since your ears open into your throat, swelling and excess mucus production in your throat/sinuses can contribute to your ears feeling clogged. The fact that it makes it hard for you to breathe is your body's way of telling you to STOP EATING THAT FOOD, and go to your doctor! Another thought I have, though, is are you eating the pasta or bread with something like olive oil or butter (i.e. some sort of lubrication)? Carbohydrate digestion begins in your mouth with enzymes in your saliva. You're eating high-carb meals which is going to require more saliva to be able to break down the sugars. Without something to lubricate the food, you may not be able to produce enough saliva to both digest the food and facilitate it's movement out of your mouth and into your esophagus.Since you're identifying this issue with gluten-rich foods, I'd strongly recommend talking to your doctor about the possibility of an allergy.

What's the best way to remove a fish bone stuck in your throat?

Hi there, I know this is an older post but I am posting my experience in case its helpful for other people. I just came back from the hospital. I had a small bone from a sardine that got stuck in my throat since last Saturday (6 days). I felt it pinching me everytime I tried to turn my head to the left (it was stuck on the left side close to my tonsils). I waited over the weekend hoping it will go away on its own, but that didnt happen. I tried bread, banana, olive oil, vinegar, marshmallow and nothing did it for me. On monday i visited an ENT privately. She used a small camera, I believe its called endoscope and examined my tongue, tonsils and the area below. She couldnt see any bone but noticed a wound. She reassured me the bone is gone and that Im just having a foreign body sensation as a result of the bone scratching me. She prescribed an oral antiseptic and told me it should resolve within 3 days. Well, 2 days later no improvement at all. Same sensation. Kind of inflamed feeling and sharp pinches when I moved a particular way. So yesterday (day 5), I visited a public hospital and went to urgent care. An ENT examined me literally for 2 mins, said no bone was to be found and prescribed me antibiotic for 5 days. I insisted there was something wrong but she dismissed me saying it was all in my head, and even if there was a bone somewhere, the antibiotics would dissolve it (biggest BS I’ve ever heard). Today, day 6, I trusted my gut and visited another hospital. They found the bone in a matter of seconds. Go with your gut, and insist for further examination if your symptoms dont improve within 2 days.

How do you remove hair from your throat?

I like how I like how everybody is saying it's unlikely. I don't know how anybody would know that. I had the same sensation a few days ago. I would run my tongue over the back of my throat really more like the back of my mouth and it felt like a hair was there. Eventually I decided to look and see what I saw and what I saw was an irritated spot with a speck in the middle that looked like it could have been a hair.I brought my construction-grade flashlight home with me went into the bathroom shined it into my throat and grab the thing with the tweezers. When I pulled what I found was a long slender object that is most likely either a hair or a piece of insulation from work. As I pulled it out my skin stretched with it the same way it does when you're pulling a hair out of your face but it was different. Initially there was only maybe a millimeter sticking out. But, the thing was about three quarters of an inch long. I don't know what it is it is either a blonde facial hair or, I think more likely a piece of fiberglass insulation

As soon as I start eating, I get hiccups (very frequently during lunch/dinner). Why?

If you eat to fast, or take to big a bites of your meal without drinking, you can swallow alot of air that will cause your hiccups, try drinking more while you eat, and taking smaller bites, and if your a fast eater, slow down, to get rid of hiccups, fill a glass of water to the rim, stick your chin in the cup and sip the tiny bubbles that form around the rim.

Why does my throat hurt when I yawn?

TMJ Dysfunction and "jaw work" is one of my specialties .First, I must say get it evaluated by a medical doctor to rule out anything serious. Second, it can indeed be an overly tense muscle(s). There are very deep layers of muscle that can't be easily accessed by merely pressing on them. They are the same muscles used by opera singers (or any singers) and orators- in addition to the intercostals (muscles that elevate and depress the ribs) and diaphragm, used in breathing. These are also the muscles used to swallow. This is why professional singers must do vocal warm-ups and exercises- these muscles can be pulled and get tense just like any other muscle in the body! Many professional singers get bodywork that specifically focuses on this kind of treatment because it totally enhances their performance capacity. There are ways to work on these muscles, but it requires specialized training and I won't get into it here (as you can see in the first photo, there are vascular and nerve structures that you DON'T want to press on- very adverse effects can occur if it is done improperly). Please do not try to access these muscles on your own by applying pressure, however, proper stretching of the neck can be a safe and beneficial way to relieve the feeling of your "throat hurting" whenever you yawn (as we said earlier, get it medically evaluated first to rule out anything serious). Find someone, maybe a singer friend or a vocal/speech coach that can help you learn how- proper diaphragmatic breathing and proper vocal warm-ups (yes, the same kind singers do) can really help relax this area.Strangely, tight jaw muscles can produce other strange effects like ringing in the ears, watery eyes, sensitivity to light, sinus trouble, headaches, eye twitches- ALSO, feelings of a sore throat. If medical/neurological problems have been effectively ruled out, then it could indeed just be tight muscles- it can stem anywhere from the jaw down through the neck. Find a professional massage therapist (or other therapist) who has experience with TMJ dysfunction, specifically treating the deep, intrinsic muscles around the throat. That combined with proper stretching and gentle vocal exercises should really help.Good luck!

Do I have Asthma? My chest hurts when I swallow food or breathe hard.?

So i'm wondering cause since this morning when I woke up I had this tight chest feeling, the kinda feeling when a food is halfway stuck in between your esophagus and stomach. The kind you'd need to drink water to swallow the food and have this 3 seconds of pain. I've been having this for the whole day in school and some say it might be asthma. This feeling is familiar (probably because I get food stuck in my throat quite frequent, but not every meal) but I don't remember having asthma at all, i'm currently 14. Its the first time this has been hanging on to me for so long. Could this be because of something else? Oh and i get frequent headaches too, but mom said its most likely inherited since it runs in my family. Thanks. (
