Experience With Usa Immigration

Who can share experience with US Immigration clearance at Abu Dhabi Airport?

Was told by Etihad to be at the Airport 4 hrs prior departure. Immigration clearance would take long. Many people would fly to the USA now via Abu Dhabi because it's easier for them to return back home when entry denied than landing in the USA and being returned.

What do I have to expect at the US Immigration here? Anybody here willing to share her/his experience?
Thank you in advance.

What is your experience with undocumented immigration in the US?

First, I was an illegal alien myself, in Mexico. I was born in Texas, but I was smuggled into Mexico as a baby. At 17, when I applied for admission at a Mexican University, hell broke lose, and I had to self-deport.Back in Texas, I worked my way through college and I made it, but it was tough. That was lesson number one: Self-deportation works from Mexico back to the USA, but the other way around would be a nightmare for a lot of people. Mitt Romney does not know what he is talking about, even though he has Mexican ancestry.I could write a book to answer your question, because I have seen it and I have lived it. Here´s a few examples.1. In my years in Mexico I knew of a lot of people that crossed illegally to work in El Paso. Some made it to many other states, and even as far as Alaska. When I finished college I had a girlfriend that was working illegally in El Paso. She routinely crossed illegally to El Paso with a group.2. At 28 I moved to California. I ran into many people that were working illegally there. Some had taken Reagan's Amnesty. Some had married American citizens. Many had bought forged documents at a place West of downtown Los Angeles called McArthur Park.3. A cousin of mine had a friend who died young. My cousin stole his papers and used them to work. He is not the only one that has done this.4, I have also seen illegals run for their lives when a Border Patrol vehicle approaches a work site.5. I have seen the counterproductive ICE raids to workplaces in Los Angeles. The intention is good, but one, it destabilize the business. Two, the owner must hire new people and train them from scratch. His experienced workers will be in hiding for a while. And the owner knows that some of the new people he will be hiring are illegals. So if he gets another raid, it will be deja vu all over again. He is not happy.6. It is true that illegals do jobs Americans are not willing to do. I have seen it. Nannies are one example. I have seen hight profile people (very high profile, like the Presleys. Yeah, Presley, like Elvis Presley) hire American nannies. But average Americans have illegal nannies. It is a mess. A lot of people work with fake or stolen Social Security numbers. There you go. Hope this helps

How is your experience in US as an immigrant?

Perfectly fine. In fact, so much so people don’t believe I wasn’t born and raised here! The USA is my home and I’ve made it so over the past 21 odd years. Fully and totally integrated into US society and customs. I have no plans or desires to live anywhere else except on a temporary basis and come back home to here.

An experience shared by most immigrants to the United States is that they...?

1. frequently met with hostility and resentment
2. settled in farm areas where cheap land was available
3. were rapidly made part of the American life-style
4. immediately enrolled in college to get an education

What is unique about the immigrant experience in the United States of America?

In major cities such as Los Angeles, New York, or San Francisco, immigrants are respected and treated the same as everyone else.  First generation, non-European immigrants are elected to top government positions and chosen to lead multinational companies.  Major cities in the U.S. are a microcosm of the future, when barriers between nationals are removed due to technology.

Does an immigrant need US clinical experience for getting a residency?

Although an “Immigrant” or a “Non-Immigrant” “Alien” does not NEED a US of A clinical experience for getting a medical residency in the Country, it is seen as a huge plus in some programs by Directors of those Programs and Graduate Medical Education Committees that sit to decide on the applicants to interview.Obviously, having a Green Card or being a Citizen of the US of A, even if a “Foreign” Medical Graduate (FMG) is seen as a plus point and you may land an observership or an externship if you have any of the above statuses.Good luck !!!Take care and have a lovely day !!!

How strict is the U.S. airport immigration?

I will answer this question bearing in mind that it’s a Nigerian(African) that requested I answer it.The CBP(Customs border Protection) Officer is there to protect the border of the United States of America from travelers who might not have the right intent to be in the US. One thing you must bear in mind is that entering the US as a visitor is not a right but a privilege. Having a Visa does not guarantee your entry into the U.S.A. You have to show your right intent in order for the CBP officer to allow you Entry. So if you consider this as Strict, then you are correct. You also have to be aware that the CBP Officer is aware of your case and what you declared on your visa application. If your plans changes, you should be ready to defend the change. As a genuine traveler you should be aware of your itinerary. You need to know how long you have booked your return for, your accommodation and how much you have available for the trip. There are cases where people have said they were staying for just 2–4weeks, whereas their return states that they will be staying for 6months.You need to know what you will be doing during your visit. One other point is that you should always make sure you declare any food item you may be carrying and any cash in excess of $10,000. Simple mistake can led you to secondary inspection and you can face the possibility of being sent back or fined. There is a case where a traveler who had a good job back home was joking with his friend via a Whatsapp chat saying he was going to get a job while he was in the US. When CBP officers checked through his phone, he had a lot of explaining to do. Please be aware that you are required not to work in the US while you are on a visiting visa. Doing this is automatically a direct violation of your visa and when you are caught your visa will be canceled and you will be barred from entering the US in the future. My answer is directed mainly towards Africans traveling to the US on a visiting visa. I hope this helps a little.
