Explain the importance of tobacco in the development of the Virginia colony?

Tobacco was a cash crop for the colony, essentially making the entire operation incredibly profitable. Virginia's climate was perfect for growing tobacco so colonists were able to easily grow it on large swaths of land. The East India company was a major financier in the colony, enticing/sending people over to grow more tobacco. However, this also led to the establishment of slavery because they sought cheaper labor. In short, the importance was the profit lol...

Explain why the development of vascular tissue was an important step in the evolution of plants.?

having vascular tissues meant that vascular plants could move away from water sources (ponds and streams, etc) and that they could grow taller. As an example, non vascular plants such as mosses are very small as they cannot transport water as effectively around the plant, so they must always occur in very moist habitats so that they can access free water. Vascular plants on the other hand can be found in very arid climates as they use the roots of the vascular system to access ground water often very deep in the ground. They can also grow taller as they use the xylem to transport water throughout the plant.

Why is a system's development life cycle important?

The software development life cycle is just a label for how a software product is developed. Since all software is developed somehow, all software has some type of life cycle. For example, code and fix is a type of development life cycle. But given a desire to create software that is high quality, is done on time and is done in budget, the choice of development life cycle becomes critically important. This is because that choice greatly influences all three components, quality, time and cost.Code and fix is generally considered the very worse development life cycle.

What is the importance of the feasibility study of system development?

Feasibility Study is a scientifically check that the system which we are going to develop is possible and practical or not.We can understand it in more simpler way by an example. Suppose we have to develop a system in 1 year by spending 1000 $. At first we have to check that is it possible or not to complete this in given constraints. Here feasibility study comes in picture. We have to calculate scientifically that can we complete this task in 1 year or not. Can 1000$ is enough or we need more money for this development task. This research, testing and experiment which we do to calculate this is called feasibility study.

Discuss the importance of writing in the development of early Egyptian culture.?

Hieroglyphs were normally written on monuments, like temples and tombs. But there are examples of hieroglyphs used on gravestones, statues, coffins, vessels and implements.
Hieroglyphs could be carved in stone (either as high or bas-reliefs) or applied with paint; cast or incised in metal; or carved in or painted upon wood.
There was always a close connection between hieroglyphic writing and fine art. Hieroglyphic writing was more elaborate and required more labour than hieratic script which was used for writing on paper, and it served its purpose best when used as part of the decoration on important monuments. Hieroglyphic writing was only understood by a small group in the society: officials, doctors and priests together with the craftsmen doing the inscriptions.

History
30th century BCE: The hieroglyphic system is developed.
500 BCE: A slow revolution of hieroglyphic writing begins, as new signs are introduced. The number of available signs in the system grows over the centuries from around 700 to several thousand.
394 CE: The date of the last case of hieroglyphic writing.
Middle of 17th century: First attempt to decipher the hieroglyphic system by Athanasius Kircher.
1799: The Rosetta Stone (see illustration) is discovered, and this became crucial to understanding the system, since it contained the same text in two languages (Egyptian and Greek), and in three writing systems (hieroglyphic, demotic and Greek).
1822: The French scientist Jean-Francoise Champollion completes the decipherment of the phonetic values of the hieroglyphs. His work rested partly on earlier work performed by Swedish, Johan David Ã…kerblad, and British, Thomas Young, both of whom manged to decipher some of the hieroglyphs.

Explain the importance of REM sleep and dreams?

The answer to that is much too complex for a short answer. Look up "the importance of rem sleep" in a Yahoo! web search for many links with detailed answers. Also look up "dreaming". The significance of dreams is not really known.

Sweet dreams!

What is the importance of system analysis and design?

System Analysis is important because it provides an avenue for solutions in the system through the various tasks involved in doing the analysis. Through these various tasks, the overall quality of a system can be easily modified or improved and occurrences of errors can ultimately be reduced.

What is the importance of the SDLC to an information system?

The SDLC or Systems Development Lifecycle is important to the development and the creation of software and applications. It provides a process and path to have the least errors and an organized path to the completion and success of a project. If there were no processes in place than structure does not exist. This can be costly to the organization and problematic to the customers or users of the product due to bad procedures in the development process. Going back and forth and correcting errors over time can be expensive. having a standardized process for developers to follow has advantages. Getting as much right up front is more efficient to the process, therefore the SDLCs significance is important.

Explain the importance of the following terms in US free enterprise systems: Profit motive, Voluntary Exchange

The profit motive is the driving force behind our economic system. Entrepreneurs constantlly seek to improve products and distribution systems so that they can sell more products and services, thus making more profits.

Voluntary exchange is the concept that no one makes you buy anything. You can exchange money for services or do them yourself. You can exchange money for products or do without the products. Of course, either of these exchanges can be reversed. You can exchange services or products for money

Why is a plants vascular system so important?

Because the vascular system in plants specializes in the transport of water and nutrients from one part of the plants to another. Two common examples of vascular tissue would be the xylem which transports water and minerals from the soil up the plant and to give support to the plant, and the phloem which transports products of photosynthesis from the leaves down to other parts of the plant.
