Explain The Reasoning For The Reaction To Chemical Weapons In Syria

What is the Syria's chemical weapon made of?

As far as I know it’s not confirmed but Sarin gas is suspected. It’s a nerve agent that works by inhibiting the parts of the nervous system that “turns off” signals to the muscles, meaning the muscles keep receiving the signal to activate. In sufficient doses (which is very small) it causes convulsions, paralysis and eventually death from asphyxiation. It looks like a really shitty way to die.

Why would Syria use chemical weapons knowing that the world is watching, other than for provocation?

They wouldn't and didn't. The weapons used were used by outside forces, not Assad or his regime. All evidence points to either the FSA using them (in order to incite the US and allies into attacking the Assad) or the deep state (some could argue the FSA is part of the deep state, anyway). The only times chemical weapons have been used in Syria have been times and places where Assad had been WINNING the battle against the terrorist FSA. It makes no sense for him to do that while he's winning. Also, when the people fled the gassed town, they went to government controlled areas. Why would they go to areas where Assad is in control if they were really being gassed by him? Also, why would he do the one thing that would guarantee that the US and allies bomb him? The answer is that he wouldn't and he didn't.

Was the Syria chemical weapons attack by Assad a lie?

No one can tell which side has been using chemical weapons. Russia got Assad to dispose of his chemical weapons in 2013 but maybe that is not all of them. What I wonder is, how the rebels or terrorists who are fighting him got a hold of them.

The U.S. didnt have to frame Assad. He did have chemical weapons at one time. The U.S. is using the IS presence as an excuse to attack Assad. No country can legally attack another except in self-defense. Thats why Iraq was illegal. The first time in 1991 the U.S. claimed Kuwait needed help but that was not a full scale invasion.

Can the Syria chemical weapon conflict start a war between the US and Russia?

There is a conversation happening on a board I post in about the issue with Syria. If I got this right, apparently Trump is threatening to attack and Russia isn't happy with this.

Posters are saying things about this starting a war, even saying this could start WW3, and one even went as far to say we're all going to die in 72 hours.

I can't say this board is a very reliable source, but as someone who doesn't have a great understanding of this, I need to ask: Can this situation start a war, possibly one on a great scale? What are the chances? Should I be worried?

What is so bad about chemical weapons?

Only a handful of countries didnt sign the chemical/biological weapons treaty, and SYRIA has never claimed them so they didnt sign. The world ,however, finds it irrelevant who signed and those who use them are held accountable. Chemical weapons are horrible. They're air burst weapons and kill anybody indiscriminately anybody they come into contact with, or at the very least messes them up pretty good. Some of these people shake so violently they break their own back or neck. They're extremely painful and dont kill quick. There is always innocents killed in war but with gas, it's a deliberate attempt to kill an entire area. Soldiers, civilians, women, children etc...

The Iraqi guys that used them on the Kurds met a terrible fate when Saddam was overthrown. People dont forget. The US quit stockpiling them in the 80s along with Biological weapons(which may be worse)

How do we know that Trump didn't use chemical weapons in Syria?

Come on, this is just so ludicrous.First of all Trump is not that smart.Second Trump didn't want to get himself involved in Syrian civil war, his main goal even now is to defeat isis. Why would he want to involve US in a complicated war??
