Good Luck! best wishes for a smooth and easy delivery!

I am 39 weeks pregnant.. I have been having sharp stabbing pains right above my vagina is that contractions?

I went to the doctors today and she said I was 2cm dilated and 50% effaced. For about 4 hours now I have been having that pain and it is also going down my legs and sometimes in my lower back. I am getting induced on the 12th.

How long does hip pain last after giving birth?

How long does hip pain last after giving birth?Hip pain is not normal after giving birth. If you are experiencing anything more than mild hip pain, see a doctor. It is possible to experience hip pain from carrying the baby on one side all the time, therefore changing the way your feet and legs move, but carrying the baby on the other side for a couple of days will make that go away. If you are still experiencing any hip pain after adjusting your stance and stride, or if it is any worse than mild, see a doctor, not your baby’s pediatrician or your obstetrician and tell all your symptoms, not starting with having a baby recently. Make him/her think about hip problems, not having a baby.

What hurts more: getting kicked in the testicles or giving birth?

When my wife gave birth to our third child, it was after two C-sections, and she REALLY wanted to have a natural childbirth. So much so that she fired two obstetricians who she didn't believe would permit her to go through the process naturally after having had 2 C-sections.  She didn't just want the child...she wanted the ENTIRE PROCESS. When she did have the child, she dealt with the pain willingly and well. She had an entirely natural birth with NO drugs or anesthesia of any type. I don't know of any sane man who would willingly take a kick in the testicles for any reason short of saving someone's life. I DO know of cases where testicular trauma has KILLED a man...he actually died from the shock induced by the pain. I know that women have died in childbirth, but it has never been attributed to pain as the cause. Conclusion; getting kicked in the testicles is worse...it is a pain that is severe enough that it can and has resulted in death from PAIN. Childbirth has never caused sufficient pain that a woman has died from pain alone.  QED.

Do women experience pain when kicked to their crotch?

Interesting thing, I have just the real life story for you:My friend was a child bride at 16 married off by her mother to a much older man from Italy. she didn't even realize she was getting married until a few days before when her sister started teasing her about it. She told me she was asleep through most of the ceremony and as pretty as the pictures were that she showed me, they also show how out of it she looked. She found out everything about marriage on the job so to speak. needless to say, the wedding night could have went better had she actually had any idea what was going to happen there:-(So they end up in Italy all the way from what was then part of Ethiopia I believe, although it's gone back to being an independent country since then.In Italy, she would keep house, be available to her husband for “womanly duties” , and play jump rope outside with Italian children her age when she wasn't doing things for her husband and their household. When she was pregnant with twins, he had already started to beat her on a regular basis. One day, he kicked her Square in the crotch. It wasn't first time he did this.It was the most dangerous however.Soon, he would be off at a bar somewhere and she would have one of her children's legs dangling from her crotch. she would be left in that house alone for about 2 days like this in labor but not really able to give birth naturally after the injury. She nearly died waiting for someone to find her. When they finally got her to the hospital and the doctor intervened to remove the twins, the boy was okay, however the little girl's eye was accidentally pierced by the forceps used to remove her from her mother's body. Little girl spent what was left of her short life having that particular eye drained on a regular basis medically with a rather large needle and syringe combo and eventually developed cancer in that eye and died.So yes, losing your little girl to cancer because of premature birth after someone kicks you in the crotch is a very very painful thing. My friend went on to have many children, but she always mourned her little girl. Why did you want to know?
