Falling Skies Clothing

In which month snow is falling in London?

There’s a saying in England, "There's no such thing as bad weather, only unsuitable clothing."Each season in London showcases the city in a different way. While city does experience four separate seasons, light showers and cloudy skies are prevalent throughout the year. Daily highs range from 48°F (9°C) in the winter to 73°F (23°C) in the summer, and weather conditions can fluctuate quite a bit over the course of a day.A canal in Little Venice in west London froze over amid sub-zero temperaturesTo get a better idea of what kind of weather you can expect in London, take a look at the following chart, which lists the city’s monthly average temperatures and rainfall days.Snowfall:London has at least a centimeter of snow on the ground. In mid-winter the snow pack averages around 11 cm deep. Generally the snow cover begins to build in late December and accumulates further during January. By the end of March the snow has mainly melted.

Skydiving: What does it feel like to fall through a cloud?

Of course, since it’s illegal, none of us has ever been in freefall through a cloud. Despite that, I do have some very clear recollections. ;)First of all, clouds contain moisture. Falling through rain feels like you’re falling through hail. Falling through hail feels like BBs. Even non-precipitating clouds are wet, so you end up with moisture on your goggles and face and, often, get pretty soaked. The other issue is visibility. Punching through a heavy cloud layer can be disorienting while you’re in the soup. You’re visually completely disconnected from the ground, which is pretty strange. I can remember coming out of the bottom of a heavy cloud layer when a competition judge had given our team an “exit, exit, exit” via radio (he had the wrong plane in his telemeter). The bottoms were at about 2500′ and we blasted out of the bottoms right over the middle of a densely populated residential subdivision. Thankfully we found a high school track to land on.In the midwest, “accidental” skydives through clouds are not that uncommon. In the winter in Illinois, we often sat on the ground for hours waiting for a hole to open up through the cloud layer. Occasionally there’d be blue sky and sunshine for a moment and we’d race to the airplane and go for it. (The condition that follows hours/days of watching cloudy skies is called “horny for a skydive”.) Sometimes the hole would turn out to be a “sucker hole” that would close up under you. Since both you and the airplane are operating under Visual Flight Rules, this is problematic. But if you’re horny enough for a skydive, sometimes you make the skydive. Particularly if you’re at your local drop zone and can do a VOR spot (find your location by the plane’s radio direction finder) or GPS spot. Not at all a smart or safe thing to do. A bunch of jumpers not being able to see each other in freefall is a midair collision waiting to happen. Add to that the prospect of IFR aircraft and tall antenna towers and it turns out to be a genuinely bad idea. Fun though.Which is why we never do it. ;)

Who do you think is going to end up being king by the last episode of GOT? Why?

My answer is completely based on A SONG OF ICE AND FIRE book series, not GOT TV show..My assumption is that there'll be no king and Westeros will embrace to Democracy with the help of JAIME LANNISTER... He may not be important in Final battle but his role will  be focussing on the aftermath of the war..He is the only one who absolutely has no interest in KINGSHIP even though he happened to had this chance three times overall in the series... And G R R MARTIN has left us a BIG CLUE for this... Jaime's called by the name KINGSLAYER...I am thinking this is not just because he killed mad king but as a  future foreshadowing of this twisted character..KING+SLAYER can very well be SLAYING KINGSHIP==> ABOLISHING MONARCHYAt present Jaime(in novels) is very much beyond who's gonna get Iron Throne...He'll be the first person supporting Democracy in the Westeros aftermath of the FIRE AND ICE battle...And I am very much sure that DAENERYS AND DRAGONS are gonna end up as MAIN VILLAINS..Wherever there are Dragons there's gonna be desolation.. White Walkers are gonna be the ultimate saviors of the Westeros killing Dany and her dragons and sacrificing themselves..There's also a definitive possibility of ICE DRAGON,which devours Viseron and Rhaegal and sacrifices itself in killing Drogon..And ICE DRAGON will be controlled by BRAN(YOU CANNOT WALK,BUT YOU CAN FLY) and he'll also die along with it and Drogon's death will definitely somehow leads to Dany's death...So by this,The Extremities of  ICE(BRAN-White Walkers) and FIRE(DANY-Dragons) gets nullified With the help of  JON(ICE AND FIRE HARMONY),JAIME(HUMAN REPRESENTATION) and few other ELEMENTS Finally, as to restore the losses and rebuild Westeros, Jon will team up with Jaime, abolish the KINGSHIP(IMPERIALISM) because that is the main reason for exploiting the nature(EXPANSION OF KINGDOM) by the man kind... This man messing with the nature is the reason for creating abnormalities(DRAGONS  and those sort) in the force of nature... They may just end up as  Army Commanders of the sort and THERE WON'T BE KINGSHIP AT THE END OF THE SERIES..Thus,BITTER SWEET ENDING promised by GRR MARTIN...pardon my English :)

University of Alberta or Western Ontario for Engineering?

C.M. C's answer is 100% correct, Nay. You do what everyone else here does; you dress for the weather. You would also be better off embracing winter in Canada rather than running from it. The air doesn't freeze solid. We have central heating and winter temperatures can be surprisingly mild. When in Canada, do what Canadians do - take up sledding, skating, cross-country skiing. Learn to make a snowman or even just sit inside a cafe and sip a hot chocolate marvelling at the snow falling from the skies.

Yes, the temperature in Edmonton can be a bone numbing -40C but only an idiot would venture outdoors on such a day wearing only a long sleeved shirt and running shoes. You will freeze if you don't purchase proper winter clothing; otherwise, you will be fine. Studying in Canada isn't some kind of endurance test or months-long suffering. It is the opportunity for a foreigner to study in a different country and to experience a different culture. Do so. Then, when you return home once your studies are done you can show off the many pictures of you playing in the snow to your relatives who will be amazed anyone actually ventures out of doors in such a frozen wasteland.

Good luck and, personally, I'd opt for U of A but that's just my own opinion.
